So my brother actually lives a couple minutes from Little Rendezvous and he gets it for dinner every Friday for his family or every time he has company like me and my mom and dad over. It does get really good every time

Daym you rock! I was actually there today for the first time ever. I grew up in Hartford and went to college in New Haven SCSU and was introduced to Pepe’s and Sally’s, etc. I have become a pizza snob it’s true but love me the Little Rendezvous!! I had the same reaction you did! How is it that I had to find out about this place from Portnoy! I am shamed that in the state I have lived for almost 55 years I didn’t know about this joint. My guess is the "greasieness" must be from olive oil. That lets you know it's the good stuff. We had a pizza place where I live that had actual Italians working there and their pizzas were always loaded with olive oil.

Ive lived in CT all my life (originally from New Haven) & my husband and I always felt Cristo's (Wallingford) and Grand Apizza North(North Haven) were two of the best. We never heard of this place in Meriden, but after watching this video review, my husband can't wait to try it.😋

We have a similar pizza place here in our small town, Newberry Fl. The college town next over is bigger and has all the chain pizza joints and a few independents but nothing comes close to Villaggio's Pizzeria! It is owned and ran by a man with the same hard work attitude as the guy here. Hard work = Great Pizza!

Being ignorant of the crazy wait time, as myself and a cousin were driving across the state, I called an hour before ETA when I was informed of a 5 hour wait time. If you are ever hungry enough go to Bethel, the real pizza capital of CT, were there are at least 15 establishments that serve pizza in a town with a population of about 20,000.

Sooo, Eggplant sounds like it would be amazing on pizza. Never heard of anyone that even offered Eggplant, which sounds even more authentic as an Italian topping.

I have an unbelievable amount of respect for that owner. When I'm trying to do my best work I also go into the zone and don't want to tune out for anything else. We can chop it up and have a chat after it's done but while I'm working let me cook.
