My Uncle is a Truck Driver. He was telling me during Co-vid he would have to walk through the Drive-Thru because his truck wouldn't fit. They gave him attitude about it until he told them he was an 18 Wheeler and nobody would let him inside the restaurants!!! It was CRAZY for drivers back them! My Aunt would try to prep meals for him when he'd be gone for a week or so but it's HARD eating on the road!
With the intro of Daym driving in with his nice ride, while looking up at the camera etc. I honestly felt like I was watching an episode of Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives” But, Daym Drops style!! 🤣
I like to make Slow Braised Chicken in a Dutch Oven at home, lots of Secret Ingredients. But One that I will mention is fresh ground Peppercorn Medley. Also good in Sausage Gravy and Real Macaroni and Cheese... And speaking of Macaroni and Cheese a secret Ingredient for that is a little bit of Dried English Mustard. Especially if you are using Sharp aged cheeses like Sharp Cheddar and Smoked Cheddar and Smoked Provolone and Parmigiano Reggiano. Not that feces that comes in a plastic tub. Real Parmigiano Reggiano!!!
@@connoisseuroftigolbitts ….are you a truck driver or just randomly telling us that you like to go to Caribbean restaurants?? Cause most truck drivers (edit: that I know, family thing) cant always order delivery and often time dont have time to stop at every Caribbean restaurant they see..?
@@lobsterlarry6481 yes I am a truck driver and yes it is possible to do a simple Google search find the nearest Caribbean restaurants && order food. It isn’t hard
Gas station food they keep the food underneath the heat lamp until they sell it, if you don't get it when it's cooked it could of been sitting for several hours.
As a driver Daym i will tell you that Pilot isnt the best but fills the tum tum with something hot after a long shift, but i would recommend you Visit the TA IOWA 80 the worlds largest truck stop and try out their buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner, they also have menu order items there that are not too shabby in my opinion, also another spot drivers like would be the IRON SKILLET at a PETROL truck stop, those restaurants inside the truck stops tend to be pretty decent too, NOT 5 star but good hot home style meals with a decent salad bar....
If you ask a restaurant server what they recommend and they respond with "I don't know, what are you in the mood for?" ....that's code for "this food really ain't hittin' on sh*t"
A lot of people take it for granted that food will just be at the store or restaurant whenever you want it. If it wasn't for truck drivers all of those shelves and walk-ins would be empty.
Thanks for this episode. I’m a truck driver for 20 years now and the food game just keeps getting worse. I cook in the truck because of it being so bad. I’ve been a fan of your videos for a few years now. Keep up the good work brother.
My local gas stations food is 🔥!! The man who owns the stores has multiple stores in the community, & in the surrounding counties. Their always packed, food is always 🔥!! Truckers, or anyone at that aren’t ever disappointed. 😍 The man who owns the stores was also my soccer coach when I was a kid. 💜
Should have asked truck drivers where they stop for food, best/worst and make a weeks (or more) worth of videos out of it, take the fam out and experience these fun lil food road trips.
Dat was the “gotta get rid of” food from early dat morning so we can put out the new ish, dats y she was dancing too hard, she figured she was gon find somebody to take dat bs off the heat lamp tryna make dat sale 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Im sad strangely about the wedges most lol. In southern Virginia those heat lamp, gas station wedges hit. Not only “for a gas station”. I’ve looked up recipes to recreate them. They’re usually family owned or one off small stations and shops though
Dale coming out of the shell more and more each video is hilarious. I remember the first few vids he was in I was like SAY SOMETHING, and the comments went in hard on him. Dale is bringing the action now, creating the Daym reaction now.
Lol, Pilot is good for fueling up and grabbing packaged snacks and bottled beverages. If you want something hot, just go to the attached Wendy’s or drive 2 minutes away to Popeyes. If you have time, Cracker Barrel is right across the street.
Daym, this was probably my favorite review so far! Love your videos. Please review more gas stations/truck stops. There are some good one out there. At least in the Midwest! Stay crispy!
11:06 Dude the chicken was sitting so long the pickle moisture softened the fried breading! Not herpes but damn close lol. I THOUGHT IT WAS GARLIC AT FIRST.
Hi Daym! Matt DV referred you to us DVants! I love your reviews and sense of humor. The empty dining room and nobody on line to order is a red flag that the food most probably ain't that good. Case in point: I ain't see'd no truck drivers all the while y'all were there. LOL! Peace
