@najsiness : i also hate opera ...until i fell upon Philippe Jaroussky ! And now ,my new passion is ....countertenors !!! ( ah well : Jacob Orlinski excluded !!! 😄)
@@virginielafrench3921It is not sung in an operatic way. Operatic voices used a lot of vibrato. Early music, like this baroque piece, utilise more straight voices without vibrato and only adding vibrato for expressive effect or as an ornament.
Thanks for showcasing this! And what wonderful talent came together to create it 😊🙏 Always exceptional, B.A. I'm pleased to see all these comments from fans of opera and those who don't usually go for it (myself included - I usually gravitate in other directions, although I enjoy it). Fortunate to be here 400 years later and able to share this with a global audience listening at different times
You're always giving me driving to work music to listen to and I'm all here for it. So much talent in one video. Absolutely incredible. Thank you all for bringing such a beautiful piece to life.
@@marienkijne It's not "period accurate" 🙄 It's lazy, incorrect modern speech leaking into what should be a place where standards mean something. It's just as unlettered and clunky as saying "a remarkable man composer".
Performing Strozzi on theorbo is so incredibly satisfying. Glad y'all put a spotlight on such an underperformed Baroque composer like Strozzi. Her music is really, really exceptional.
