Here is the first video of ‪@JawTooth‬ and my 4 day adventure in Tennessee and Georgia this week. I got tons of good stuff to post, so make sure you are here the next several days to see it!
This was the first stop of the trip. We went directly to the Tenn Bridge over the Tennessee River in Chattanooga. I had been there many times before, but this was Jaw Tooth`s first time being there, and he was impressed by it.
The first train arrived a few minutes after we arrived. There were 2 trains on the bridge when we pulled into the parking lot, but they were nearly gone, so we didn`t film them.
Train number 1 is a Northbound mixed manifest that could be headed to Cincinnati, Knoxville, or Louisville, Ky. This location is the Southernmost end of the NS Rathole line that goes to Cincinnati at its farthest North point.
Once it passes, we get a long Southbound mixed manifest that stops for a few minutes then continues on to the NS DeButts Yard.
The last train is this video is a Southbound intermodal that has the Nickel Plate locomotive in the trailing position at the lead end of the train.
I will post part 2 of this location soon. We were at 10 different places while we were down there and got some really cool stuff, so make sure to keep checking back here to get all the action!
Thanks for watching!

A good mixed manifest crossing a cool bridge over a big river! I crossed the Tennessee River on a ferry once. It was a state highway in a hilly area. We topped a hill and the river was right there in front of us. No warning sign of any kind. What a surprise! 😮 😄😄😄❤❤❤

@1960gambit

That sign is there because there is a lot of turbulence in the water after it exits the turbines at the dam. You wouldn`t want to swim right there!

I've been to Chattanooga before...52 years ago. My eldest brother (14 year older than me) got his first Engineering job with the TVA. I was 8yo when I first saw the Chattanooga Choo Choo and visited all the battlefiels around there. I saw ya, you sly ole dog...checking out the chic walking her pooch. 🤣🤣 ...just kidding! Are y'all going to hit the big yard in Chattanooga??

Scott, you said that they hadn’t opened that bridge since the lightning struck yet so they stopped all the tugboat traffic coming down it because I had a father-in-law that used to push barges up and down to Tennessee river up past Chattanooga and then would come back down and tie into the Tom Bigby and run the Tennessee Tom Biggby all the way to Mobile and another question is that a double main on that bridge or just a single main, but anyway, my friend another awesome video and I hope y’all had a wonderful time down there so as always, you stay safe out there and watch your back and I can’t wait to see the next one
@1960gambit
@1960gambit Месяц назад
Thanks Timmy. Yes, the bridge is a double track main. There were 2 trains on the bridge when we got there, but we couldn`t film them because by the time we got our stuff out of the car they were just about gone! Lol

oh those locks sound like a typical govt construction project, UNENDING!! once they finish the initial build they immediately start the upgrades and modernizing!! i think it's Waldon you've got that one before it looks familiar!! didn't know Chattanooga had a nuke plant i thought the closest there was Savanna river odd to have a hydro plant with a nuke plant!!
@1960gambit
@1960gambit Месяц назад
Tennesse has 3 nuke plants. Sequoyah, Watts Bar, and Browns Ferry. I worked in the Sequoyah plant for my company getting our equipment running for them. The Savannah River plant is one of 2 locations in Georgia. The Vogtle site South of Augusta has 4 operating reactors. We built equipment for the 2 newest ones that went online in the last 2 or 3 years. Those are the first new reactors built in America in over 30 years We keep tearing down cola plants, but aren`t replacing the with anything but windmills and solar panels. Those will not get the job done, not even close. Part time electric production at best. We are being sold a bill of goods by our government.
