A.A. Bondy - "Slow Parade" - HearYa Live Session 11/21/09 

House MD introduced me to some of the best songs and artists ever.

When I was going to technical college I did one of my essays, which was a breakdown of the lyrics to a song of my choice, on the song "Skull and Bones." At the time I couldn't find lyrics for the song so I contacted A.A. Bondys publicist, agent, or something of that nature, to see if I could somehow get a copy. I wasn't expecting much but... Not long after I received an email back. She said that the man himself took time out to write down the lyrics and give them to her for me to use. Holy fuck. What? Dude isn't just a talented musician, he's a talented human being too.

Amazing version of this song from THE most underrated artist around.

I saw this for the first time 11 years ago. To this day, it still blows my mf mind and brings a tear to my eye. It’s positively one of the most beautiful performances I’ve ever watched.

The last minute of the song, I'm imagining a scene where I'm in my deathbed and I'm finally accepting the infinity of time and my finite life.

This guy reminds me of Pete Yorn so much so prolific, he is criminally underrated.

Such a haunting voice. He and his guitar are as one and when they go electric it becomes ethereal (6:07). My friends and I followed him around Texas from 1997 through 2003 while he was with Verbena. Then they broke up and he disappeared for 4 years. not a peep. no where to be found. He came back solo and again anytime he came through Texas we were there. We were at his last show December 18th 2015 at the Mohawk in Austin Texas. No drums, no bass, just him. Simply amazing. So humble and engaging. During that show he made several cryptic comments that made me think he was about to disappear again. I hope he finds his way back to us.

for me, this guy is in a class all by himself.

I love this version so much more than the studio version. I'm pretty sure this is the only song I like this version of more than the studio version too.

He has the ability to articulate thoughts/feelings that are crashing around inside me, things that I couldn't possibly describe with words. Every single time I come in here and listen to this version of Slow Parade, it cuts through all the crap in my head, all the negativity and hatred and darkness in this world, and leaves me feeling somehow better.... effing magic...........
