I love how Paracelsus sounds like just a normal-ass dude. No distorted or even deep voice, just some guy you'd walk past on the street or see working at a store.
Better than he last appearance ending of deciding to live in the badlands after transferring Para's soul into a homonculous so she could play the loving housewife anyway.
Hi there, i am new to ggst, i wanna ask, is this cannon? Like will the characters learn from thisngoing forward or will they not as i was told this was an alternative ending?
She isn't fixed and he didn't fix her. She isn't broken, and never was. That's literally the whole point here She just didn't understand what love truly meant and paracelsus used to not want it. But they're actually communicating now and getting better together bit by bit so that they can actually understand eachother.
I love the self awareness both of them have. A.B.A. knows she's an emotionally stunted faux-person with toxic affection, she's just scared of facing that flaw because of everything she may lose in doing so and the loneliness that would follow. Para knows he's bloodthirsty war axe who has enabled an extremely unstable woman into a life of combat just to satisfy himself which in turn futher fueled her worst traits. But hey if a violent key-axe can recognize his faults and resolve to better himself for his and ABA's sake then so can she. It's really cool they explored more into ABA's yandere tendencies instead of her just being one and that's mosty all the meat on that bone.
Damn...why are such stories known only within the community?... This is a really touching story, in my opinion, I think this should be promoted to the masses
@@Alex_Killjoy26Truly is excellent writing, and so many characters get this level of detail as well. Guilty Gear knows how to master short form content
It honestly makes, A.B.A my favorite example of the Yandere trope. She's well aware of how messed up here relationship with Paracelsus and is just scared of confronting it. It's stuff like this that makes me wish they did more interesting things with trope like this.
Ok so since they canonically worked things out, ABA rizzing up Paracelsus in her victory screen is completely consensual and not as concerning as I thought it was. Sort of.
@@Zeronigel332 Para does like ABA and care for her, but it’s a jump between being her friend and being her ‘spouse’ like she insists. Even his current Strive bio says he had a “distaste for her constant advances”. It’s a lot clearer NOW with this ending that cos they actually directly talked about their relationship, he’s actively pursuing and working on it with ABA.
@@Elementroar from actively using her to being indifferent and that ended in him truly caring for her, they really had a long way with a relationship full of "difficulty" but ended in a healthy? relationship.
She's not even full human (Homonculus), He's a Gear weapon from the crusades. She's obsessed with keys, he looks like the key to her heart, It was an alliance made in hell or heaven! Most Definitely Guilty Gear material
@@WhatisthisgremlinHe was both the best and worst ‘person’ she could’ve met just after leaving her home in Flask. An audio drama CD fleshed it out better, but basically Slayer met Para both before and after Para met ABA, and realized that Para was already ‘kinder and gentler’ with ABA and actively suppressing his most destructive abilities for her sake, while ABA needed Para as emotional support and cos he knew the world better since he’s older. Ultimately Slayer felt they would help cover for each others shortcomings and grow well together. But for a long while Para still manipulated ABA into gathering blood for him while ABA was dragging him around to find a way to put him in a body. Him kicking the blood habit by the time of STRIVE shows he’s sincere in bettering himself for her sake at least, but it does look like the ‘fighting spirit’ he used to be is kinda imprinted on ABA too now. It even looks like she can summon the old form that Para used to be as the ‘Sanguine Gale’ in the form of the red axe head with teeth when she’s doing her Overdrive in Jealous Rage mode
1:28 LMAO Testament’s “What?!” They couldn’t believe how fast ABA caught on. Honestly tho, I like how the story mode makes a point that ABA’s not stupid, she knows what she’s doing to Paracelsus isn’t healthy but combo of zero socialisation and extreme anxiety makes her obsession with Paracelsus more like an addiction she can’t break, even when she knows better.
@redflame300 The difference is she WANTS to change, but she doesn't think she can. Even he admits he wouldn't know how to start but still wants to work with her to be a good couple.
@@redflame300 i mean technically they are equally as bad to each other they are just getting better now. for one paracelsus literally used to use her to kill people being blood thirsty axe and all.
@@twistedmyth5860 He always talked. There's even an audio drama CD with his backstory and full voice acting, everything from his original personality to him complaining about ABA and freaking out she's grinding on him mid-battle.
Blood really changes his personality A LOT. In the old in-game animations, if ABA coughed up blood, he's leaning in and licking his lips trying to drink her blood. He was basically a crack addict for blood, how he is in STRIVE is basically after he went through rehab through sheer will to kick his blood habit.
Paracelsus changing blue is so funny yet it's the sweetest way for him to say "I love you" in his own way since expressing love with words ain't his thing. His whole life he changed OTHERS to do his bidding and fulfill desires. And the time he changed himself was only to manipulate A.B.A to use him. So the biggest improvement for him turning blue to express his care and want to improve with her because she finds comfort and happiness in that color aside from stuff like keys is sweet. (Also probably a metaphor for A.B.A in the end saying she can finally understand Paracelsus clearly.) I hope in the future if ever, he remains in that Blue or has it applied to his other forms to showcase their love developing. (A shame there's no color toggle for his blue color, but I'm sure somebody will mod it in.)
Paracelsus basically is functionally unbeatable if you do not know that he as the weapon is the actual danger. Slayer figured it out and then beat Paracelsus though.
Same here, I was so happy when they were announced. Those two are couple goals for real, I love it. Also, been following your music for a while, it's a pleasure to see you.
It ain’t healthy, but if they agree not to use each other and to hear each other out with clarity like the oceans she loves so much, then they’d be moving in the right direction. Tho why does Pair a Keys get all black sludgy and him turning blue was… a bit on the nose? 😂
His STRIVE bio implies he’s become emotionally tied to ABA over time, even becoming more key-like for her subconsciously. So if her emotions are out whack from extreme jealousy and fear, then it infects his own shapeshifting abilities. Him being able to actively change his form again prolly also means ABA is able to rein in her obsession over him and have healthier feelings so his shapeshifting isn’t AS negatively affected
In ACR he turns back into his demon form when he gets fed blood because he's a demon that feeds on blood, just turned into a key so that ABA would use him because ABA is fascinated by keys but he ends up using her instead and would literally feed on her blood and force her to fight. Now its the opposite. Its ABA sort of using him, since for once his host didn't die and he's been stuck with her for years he ends up getting sick of being in his ultraviolent demon form from drinking blood all the time but now ABA's toxic obsession is corrupting him.
Being open and honest with others starts with being open and honest with yourself. *Quiet applause* You need to be able to look your loved ones in the eye and state clearly, "Look, I'm an axe." *Confused applause*
I never realized Testament’s wisdom throughout a lot of the other characters’ arcade endings. Might end up being a great therapist for all of the other characters
i'm actually speechless. This series always had cool themes and depth, but strive just took it up to a 100 compared to everything before. Between baiken learning how to give up her unachievable revenge, sol lecturing I-no on why it's important to find something with purpose and now ABA finding out how to live and society and what healthy love is, all these moments are all genuinely so well-written and humane. Let's take a moment between two TODs against chipp sometimes and enjoy all the stories and characters this game has to offer :)
Bridgette accepting "herself" too, Asuka for seeking redemption for his actions more than 2 centuries ago, Venom retiring, Even Faust being the Good Doctor he always wanted to be (in Xrd)! It's all about moving on and acceptance in Guilty Gear.
@@aidanaylward9237 You know Bridgette is born a BOY, Right? You know what.....Story time! Bridgette is the son of aristocrats in the GG universe (British I think). They had enemies so they Raised Bridgette as a girl to avoid political and real assassination attempts and due to the fact that shes a twin and same gender twins where shes from is considered bad mojo apparently. Bridgette is at least 12-13 yrs old when she goes out to be a bounty hunter to capture Commander Gear Dizzy. She finds Dizzy and they end up becoming besties instead and Bridgette even becomes friends with May and Johnny's pirate crew (Johnny even flirts with her). Later in Life She becomes broke and has to find a way to make ends meet so she becomes an entertainer with her yo-yo skills but still isn't doing too well and ends up waiting tables at Jam's Shop. Afterwards she becomes successful and rich at bounty hunting and has an identity crisis which She converses with Goldlewis and Ky and finally decides to be seen as a Woman.
@@aidanaylward9237I think it’s supposed to differentiate between bridget’s early life(where she was forced to be a girl,so to say),and her truly coming in terms of her identity and letting go of the past
Aba’s voice action is so expressive and Paracelsus is just ‘hmm.’ ‘Weird’ ‘she’s very energetic, isn’t she?’ With the blandest tone. But that was actually a well written interaction. the set up and pay off of ‘blue’ the gradual increase in how much Para speaks, it’s not bad.
He used to feed on blood and after getting ABA to pick him up by turning into a key shape to attract her (the manipulation he mentioned), she kept feeding him blood and even sometimes cut herself on him to feed him blood to power him up into his full Muroha demon axe form. And in that form he used to drain her health so it’s implied he was still drinking her blood while in Muroha, and his personality changed so that he’d drag her into combat sometimes. So NOW, it’s implied being with ABA for over 6 years has kinda ‘tamed’ him, he doesn’t want to be drunk on blood anymore, and he stopped draining her health/blood too. So basically, he got clean! But then ABA was the problem cos her anxiety and fear went through the roof and instead of Muroha, he gets corrupted by her toxic fears and can’t even stay regular key shape. So it’s more like it’s his turn to help ‘fix/rehab’ her, cos her obsession with him is like an addiction she knows she needs to break, but she needs help and time.
@@freshlymemed5680 He was a demon, he wasn't nice. But she refused to die and keep holding on to him because she DOES love him. In real life it is best that people leave bad relationships. But in this case both of them are willing and made the effort to change. Probably because this is a game and doesn't need to be realistic. We can have a happy ending here because this isn't real.
Idk if he ever talked in GG+R but for a demonic relic that used to force its hosts to kill anything in sight till the host died, he sure sounds like a normal guy.
He always could talk, he holds whole conversations in the story mode for Accent Core etc. He also had a completely normal voice and way of speaking in those games, he only ever sounded like a ‘demon axe’ in Muroha mode; and now it’s implied he doesn’t like the way he was in that mode. Prolly not only cos he lost his own senses to bloodlust; but cos he drained ABA’s health/blood in that mode. Something he doesn’t want to do anymore cos he cares about ABA.
I Wonder which ending will be the Cannon one for them, then one where she still obsessed and Paracelsus still suffer, or this one where they decided to start over and meet each other properly as being battle partners. I honestly like this one, and I'm curious to see how it develops.
Daisuke said that actually each arcade mode ending is "canon" since they're different sides of the characters, which means that even in the "fail endings" timelines A.B.A and Paracelsus relationship will somehow reach the same conclusion showed in the "perfect ending" offscreen sooner or later
@@Mesiasdenoche But that doesn't make sense. If it's so, how or why did Paracelsus went back to be an axe If In RCP he both, got a body (Path 1) and got stuck inside of Robo-Ky's head (Path 2)? And If so, how did Robo-Ky existed until Rdx where he died? If those endings are cannon, Paracelsus should have returned as one of those states.
