On the contrary he is lauded for his vocal mastery. And his band Mr Bungle... his label Ipecac Recordings wirh great music... A well appreciated artist.... He does a lot of stuff.
I am fully convinced that Faith No More's version is BETTER than The Commodores' original! -The fact that they, originally, released it on an E.P. called: Songs To Make Love To (featuring -an image of-: 2 rhinos, having intercourse, with the sunset behind them😛😛; as the cover). along with a cover of the Dead Kennedys' [sic] "Let's Lynch the Landlord" (and an original which: the record label's refusal to use umlauts in their printing of text, actually, altered the meaning of the song-title!!🤦🙄) ...is, all, somehow: "just perfect." 😜
@@stevelaconte8802 If you're going to count the songs (or bits of songs!) they do, live, I think it MIGHT, actually, come out to: "half classic soul and disco, half F.N.M. material" 😛😛🤪 🤷 They are capable of doing justice to anything! 🤘🤘
How many tapes/cd's did you do through? Tape, 5. Cd's are more durable, so only 2. I had it in my car for a year, I believe. My hubby threatened my CD! LOL
...actually, I would say: "Everything's Ruined"; "Smaller & Smaller"; "RV" and "Kindergarten" show that MUCH, much more (as well as: "Jizzlobber" and "Caffeine").
A couple of my personal favorites from Faith No More are Last Cup of Sarrow & Ashes to Ashes. One of the most popular and recognizable songs must be We Care A Lot as it played in the intro of Dirty Jobs. The bass riff totally sticks and once you've heard it you never forget it.
I've been a fan of Faith No More since this album, but only in the last 5 years has Falling To Pieces become one of my favorite, bouncy jams. Cheers to both of you!
@@sparkyth67 I know FNM is nothing like quuensryche but QR was another rock band that didn't change their style to be grunge during that time early in the 90s one of only a handful of Hard Rock bands to not change their style to stay popular
These dudes are beyond real. Their messages are superb. They’ll get you through the lowest points & come out shining on the other side. It’s all about FAITH ✨
Faith no More are unique. And weird. Mike Patton is a crazy genious. They have so much variety in what they do, these 2 songs you've listened to are the commercial ones, easy-listening. If you want deep, sober, emotional, different, react to their song Pristina. Very different. It will get to you. It's just a wow masterpiece.
It's about time y'all finally got this song! Those switches and flows are time time signature changes. 🤣 May I suggest Midlife Crisis next. One of their best! Oh and "Another Body Murdered" from the Judgement Night Soundtrack that they did with Booya Tribe. GREAT SONG!
Fun Fact: Mike Patton has one of the widest known ranges for any singer, with a full 6 octaves. From low to very high...he is an another level than most singers!
The Faith No More songs "A Small Victory" and "Midlife Crisis" are both great songs. You should also check out the video for "We Care a Lot" which features FNM's original lead singer Chuck Mosley. My favorite FNM song was never released as a single. It is called "Zombie Eaters".
One of my son's favorite groups!!! I TOOK HIM WHEN HE WAS 13 TO SEE BILLY IDOL, FAITH NO MORE AND WANG CHUNG....EXCELLENT, ESP BILLY!!!🎤🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🎹🎹🎷🎸🎷🎵🎶🎵
Mike Patton has been in a lot of bands. In many different styles. Man can sing anything. A few I would love to see you react to. Mr Bungle “ Pink Cigarette”, Tomahawk “God Hates a coward”, Lovage “Pit Stop” and Peeping Tom “Mojo”. Honestly he is one of the artists that you should devote a day to three songs by the same artist from time to time. Love you guys. You have helped keep me positive through rough times.
Yes!!!!! Thank you!!! (Lead singer Mike Patton has a 6 octave range (for comparison Mariah Carey has a 5 octave range) and an even broader taste in all music, he also is associated or part of Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom along with solo work and voice overs, he was the voice of the creatures in I Am Legend among MANY other side projects) From Out Of Nowhere The Morning After Zombie Eaters Underwater Love Edge Of The World Easy....1 word: dayum Midlife Crisis.
I think, actually, it's, like "5.8" octaves, or something (or maybe 6.2)🤷🤷 ...whatever the case: his range is insane! ...but the manners in which he is capable of using it, is the REAL key (& the thing which makes him so amazing!)!
Midlife Crisis, The Real Thing, From Out Of Nowhere, We Care A lot, A Small Victory..Their cover of the Commodores classic Easy is brilliant, you guys will love the contrast between all these songs.
The first time I heard this band I loved them right away. They are completely original and blended so many different styles of music together in such an artful way. I love when he lays down those bars. 🕊❤️🎼
I just remembered a really cool moment on Yo MTV Raps, where they did a song at the end of the show as a request from the host. His name slips my mind at the moment. And it was their slow R&B jam. Edge of the world.
I watched Epic premier on Mtv when I was like 15 and immediately became a fan. Especially of Pattons uniqueness & seemed to me to be the only person on Mtv to truely be himself regardless of anything at all. For years seemed no one knew of them & I was a lone fan of FNM & Mr Bungle. Strange & awesome realizing now there are lots of other fans out there. Happy to know more ppl than I originally thought appreciate these guys. Funny I believe HEADBANGERS BALL at like 2am one night is when I 1st seen this
So I loved this band growing up in the 90's (when I was a young adult). And one day my mom came to visit (totally different taste in music) - and I was playing a CD of FNM - and the song she heard was 'Evidence' - and she loved it. Think you will too - and it has a great bass line.
A band ahead of their time. This album was a game changer for the late 80’s early 90’s. In that meandering time post hair-metal and pre-grunge. Faith No More has a lot of amazing music but this album was instrumental in altering popular music.
Nice! FNM is one of my all time fav bands. I’m so glad you guys caught the musical diversity. Real quick, the bass player is jazz trained, keyboardist is classically trained, guitarist is metal, the vocalist is sound influenced and the drummer is African rhythm. Yes, Easy is amazing but off of this album, The Real Thing is killer. Full on metal is Digging A Grave.
faith no more are awesome, great live too, saw them at wembley back in the day when they were a support act for guns and roses around 92 i think. they did a great cover of lionel ritchies easy you must take a look at
"Let me tell you something Grimes, we're already carrying 50lbs of gear as it is. Don't need another 15. Besides I don't plan on running away." Hearing this song with that bass and riff gets the blood flowing. Plus it's low key the only song I hear when either dressing up or putting on safety equipment.
From the same album, FROM OUT OF NOWHERE, title song THE REAL THING and EDGE OF THE WORLD are all MUST HEARS! ( but I think the entire album is a Must Hear!)
From Out of Nowhere is a killer track; We Care a Lot (Live); plus they do a cool cover of War Pigs. Would agree with others here that Angel Dust is fantastic album.
I can’t believe this is only your second reaction to Faith No More. The album version of this song is so much better. You guys should check out their these next “the real thing”, “strip search”, “everything’s ruined”, “midlife crisis”, and “easy”. Just to name a few
YES!!! finally you got back to some FNM. this is my favorite band of all time. They are just the right mix of funk, punk, rock, and metal. Midlife Crisis would be a good one to react to next.
Good song. I suggest "We Care A Lot" "Midlife Crisis" "Easy" "Ashes To Ashes" "Last Cup Of Sorrow" "Stripsearch" "Evidence" "A Small Victory" "War Pigs" Jordan, both of their songs so far are great, but if I had to pick, it would be "Epic."
Great reaction! Some more Faith No More songs to check out: Midlife Crisis Be Aggressive We Care A Lot Digging the Grave Evidence Ricochet Stripsearch Anne's Song
Jay and Amber i like Faith No More. I have 3 of their cds. Other songs to check out are Mid-life Crisis, A Small Victory, Everything's Ruined, Be Aggressive.
Amber and Jay I’m shook Because I’ve been watching the reactions of faith no more and I just saw your reaction to Epic an hour ago so I’m like 🙌 yes I grew up on this band 1989 through 96 and I love Mike Patton he is such a king 👑 Thank you for reacting to this this is one of my favorite songs by them to Falling to pieces oh my God love it ❤️
There is absolutely no way you can do a reaction to it, but listen to MotherF**cker off Sol Inviticus. That song is just so freaking tribal with the chorus and the drums.
sheesh take me back to college days in the 90's, never thought back then these vids or the band was weird in any way, they were different as opposed to the "norm" they were cool. If you want to hear them toned down a bit and really hear the lead singer vocals listen to their cover of Lionel Richie's "Easy". Aaaahhhh that bass though!!
The things mike patton can do with his voice is unbelievable. Not only is he an amazing singer, he can make some crazy sounds with his voice. He made all the zombie sounds in the Left 4 Dead games
