Chanting Goff started because all the hype about Stafford coming back. It was the city letting him know he's our guy now. It wasnt claiming hes the next Brady, its saying we believe he can take us to the Super Bowl.@detroitlionspistonstigersr6735
Goff's played better than Joe Burrow over the course of his NFL career, certainly the past two years, and has not been on the injured reserve list ever. The talk that Burrow is so much better than Goff is ludicrous. Both have been to Super Bowls and lost. Why does Goff get put in the Daniel Jones money barrel. The past two seasons Goff's been better than Dak, better than Kyler, better than Russ, better than Justin, better than Stafford and gets paid a lot less. Pay him the market value and stop squawking about it. He's a proven winner over his career going 66-43-1 since he became the opening day starter in 2017 for the Rams and has taken two long suffering franchises to the top echelon of NFL teams.
When Mike was by himself it was so focused and easy to listen to that at times I would forget I even had earbuds in. When Mike is with Rico I have to concentrate so hard that my head literally starts hurting at times. That's the difference between good and bad radio.
Goff has already been smart as a money manager. His fiancée is sports illustrated model she will be making more or the same as him. He would be straight up perfect recipe for Super Bowl because we can afford other players.
I just don't get why they drafted Hendon hooker if they weren't going to use him. The dude is awesome has a arm and is a little bit more mobile than Goff. Get him on the field so he can get valuable reps and so we know what we have and what type of value he brings.
My guess was his extension would be about 3 years/$130m. That would put him at 7th highest, I believe, which is fair and reasonable, and it doesn’t break the bank.
I get the vibe that Goff say " pay me what you can, and still keep the other guys on the roster". I have a feeling that Holmes will say " we can pay you this, and keep our other guys around". Deal gets done we move on to a SB.
Well, as Jerred said it’s not about the money, it always is about the money he’s not gonna do it for 15 million!!!!! but for as good of a quarterback as he is, 45ish, is a good deal.
Love it. Who else are you going to get at QB that is as good? Lets face it Mahomes is never going to walk through that door and our chances of getting a top draft pick are now over. Anyone that wants HH is on crack. Take the discount, keep the line in check and trade for Snead
When Goff first went to Detroit, his yearly contract was 25 million a year. They then restructured it and it moved the final 3 years to 31 million a year. No one ever talked about its actual average when they talked about his contract. Now they are comparing Goff's restructured deal with the per year average of deals without their structure. So while Goff's restructured deal is 31 million a year, Watson is getting 64 million, Dak 59.5m, Murray 51.8m, Stafford 49.5m, Jones 47.1 and Allen 47m. If we are going to compare contracts, lets compare apples to apples.
Stop comparing him to those guys besides Dak there just better he had a good season let's see what he does moving forward looks a lot like LA Goff and you seen what happened with that!
@@coreypatterson1007 If you take his stats and the teams success, Goff is in the top 3. Even if you go back for the last two years. The media puts to much into what a player can be if he hits his ceiling. The media cares to much about how flashy the player is. I like QB's that win. I like QB's that win in the playoffs. Goff does both but for some reason when he does it, it doesn't count.
I feel like everyone is overreacting to this whole priority waste patch on the Red Wings jersey thing, like I'm superstitious but this even to me is ridiculous. There are more important things to worry about than a silly little trash company patch.
180 for 4 year extension is great. People may freak out that it's too high but as a percentage of the salary cap it's a good deal. If the cap keeps going up by 8% each year (slightly below the average growth we've seen the last 10 years) it will end up being below 15% of the total cap for a QB. Thats not bad.
@@khrisstake2210 Well we KNOW what Goff can do on the field and we KNOW that he can AT LEAST take us to an NFC Championship when costing us $32.5 million per year
Holmes’ 2021 draft class contracts are sll coming up, and we can’t afford to lose any of them. If we have $42.5M/year to pay him after Penei gets his $32M/year, Saint gets his $25M/year, Alim gets his $17M/year, Iffy gets his $11M/year and Barnes gets his $8M/year, then ok.
Odds are that they will never keep everyone. And I’m not sure that I’d touch iffy and Barnes at those numbers (I could be dead wrong on iffy). Best case, Goff sets the tone giving a 4ish mil/year discount and hopefully most of the other core guys follow suit and take a small pay cut to keep the band in tact.
