Also screw the net guy. If you care enough about a ball to sit around for an entire baseball game in a kayak in the sun not even watching the game... That is sad but you earned that ball
You have no idea why the person was out on a kayak. . They could of been just out relaxing on the waters and seen the ball land in the water and went for it. I would too even if I had no care for the game itself, it would just be a cool experience to say I was out kayaking and a home run was hit out on the water and I got the ball. Edit HOLY 2.2K !!! APPRECIATE Y'ALL 🤙
I watched it again. The net was maybe a foot away, and the front tip of the kayak is a foot or less. The upward curve makes it a bit hard to tell. If it was 5 feet the back end of the kayak would have moved to about where the front was before the front was even at the ball.
@@Bigwaluigi2 - 1 imperial foot is 4 metric miles, therefor she was in international water and legally allowed to plunder the ball and any treasures within under maritime salvage rights.
We have that here in Pittsburgh as well. The river runs right next to the field so when someone smacks one over the backfield stands it usually ends up in the drink. There's usually a whole "tailgate" style party happening with kayakers out there during big games. It's the Pirates though sooooo....not a lot of big games 😅
Nah bruh it's fair play not to mention she was out on the water already. They'd have to pull it all the way back in to them to physically have it. She had it. Edit: holy 948 likes... 😆🥳
Never have I seen a RU-vid short video where I inadvertently threw my hands up cheerfully when the Kayaker seized the ball. Dope lil youtube short if I've ever seen one.
@@killasic true that but when ur life gets thrown around and beat up every chance it gets then it's hard to find joy in stuff like that. Come to me when you experience that
@@ricky-sh6fv Oh I've experienced the various ups and downs of life. Even more, technically speaking, life can be better but you can't stop being happy. I hope things go the best they can for you my man. I hope you go out and hit the lotto.
There was a guy that got the ball in the water on mother’s day, he was recording and held the ball to the camera as a mother’s day gift to his mom who had passed away. Shall she rest in peace, knowing she has a great son
That guys name is Joe, his net is on a fishing rod and he’s been doing it ever since the stadium has opened. Has fished out several home runs from Barry Bonds in the past and many more. However the kayakers commonly known as McCovey Dave and Splash Hit Steve have more of a advantage than Joe. He is featured on multiple videos of RU-vidr and baseball social media influencer Zack Hample
If you’re gonna give yourself an unfair advantage by attaching a net to a fishing pole, grabbing the ball from the net before you reel it in is definitely fair game
Took the words out of my mouth. I'd say it's not really yours until it's in your hand. Maybe the exception would be if you somehow caught it in your shirt after it bounced off your body, would be kinda messed up if someone grabbed it out. But that wouldn't be an unfair advantage since everyone has a shirt.
@@hetzer7366 you really don’t know how steroids work, yeah he got stronger from them, but they don’t help you swing the bat like he did. They don’t help you get a good eye on the ball for to be able to hit the ball. They just make you stronger. Yeah he used steroids, but it’s not the sole reason for his home run hitting success.
Jeez, that must be fun. Watching a wall behind which a baseball game is ongoing hoping that a ball might suddenly appear and goes into the water. And baseball games take a few hours...
This is like when I’m in a parking lot and another car goes down the wrong way in my lane and I pull up into their desired parking spot right before they do. I have the right of way so it’s my parking space. She has the right of way so it’s her ball.
@@RKLS90 - If anything it’s far more enjoyable in a kayak then on that baking cement. Cheating is ALWAYS a lose imo. Poor sportsmanship deserves natta. 👌🏼
There should be a sub-sport created from this. It should include commentary along with water balloons and/or low velocity paintballs deployed by spectators. A shark or two might make it more entertaining but that would be a little much. Or maybe an aquatic version of BattleBots with the objective to secure the ball.
Until the guy with the net pulls the ball at least 5 feet, or 10% of the way to shore, whichever is shorter, the ball is not technically “his”. From the full text rule book.
I remember my grandpa taking me to Oracle Park because there was a Chevron volunteer event and I was making name tags for people in a tent in the middle of the field and that was hecka fun I wish I can go again
Good on her , the girl in the kayak deserves it just for the effort she put in I would say in fact the guy with the net was trying to steal it away from the kayak as she was onto it first !!! Good on her !!!
Reminds me of one time I was at a game and the stadium was by a road. One guy hits it out of the park and onto the road. Immediately, someone pulls up, opens their door, grabs the ball, and kept on driving.
Your corny as hell man shut up 🤐 & if he was doing it for 23yrs then he can let one baseball ⚾️ go 😂 & like i said she was fair game! Back to the 23yrs doe the guy in the video looks like he can be a little over 23 but 👌 DORK
I havent lived in the Bay Area in a very long time but I still know people call it Pac Bell. It was the same with Candlestick, no one called it Monster Park
Having the ball in this seance, means "hands on", the net, or just about anything else, is an extension used to bring it into one's grasp, the attempt at netting was a good idea, but in this case, it's "so close, yet so far.
I'm thinking she's bringing a battleship, and he's bringing a tea strainer to a surface drone fight. A couple of floats bridged by a tiny lacrosse net and some remote controlled motors and any ball is yours to fondle in seconds with a little decent driving.
I'm not American and don't have a clue about baseball but I live a couple of blocks away from the park. I wondered for years what they were doing in the water instead of paying for the ticket and watching the game. Now I understand why.
Did you know....Most baseball fields and sports arenas are built over energy centers and near large bodies of water, which gives more energy to the rituals they perform during sports events.
Its like throwing you hat on a 20 dollar bill you both saw on the sidewalk, it doesn't matter unless its in your hand. Calling dibs don't work. That being said, kudos to the net guy, great idea.
