I know im randomly asking but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Avi Prince Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
As a true beginner in every sense when it comes to the bass, I appreciate this video so much. Thank you for making a very in depth video covering so many effects, while also detailing what those effects can do and playing recognizable riffs that may have been created using said effects. After recently playing around with a modelling amp at work, albeit a guitar amp, I found myself very intrigued by some of the sounds but had no idea what any of them truly meant and and also didn't know where to begin. Turns out it was watching this video. Cheers
Check out the Valeton GP200, it's awesome. I'm setting one up for live use. Has all of these effects, chain management, looper, and drum tracks. $300 and you don't have to buy all these different pedals.
i love these sounds so much im happy to know my world can be so much bigger than i thought, and wow i had no idea certain sounds in songs were produced like this! excited to try everything i can get my greedy hands on xD
Great video. Long time acoustic mandolin player dabbling in the electric bass world. Unsurprisingly, pedals just seemed like an endless wilderness. This video really gives a great overview for noobs like me. Granted, I'm not sure my wallet will be all that happy that I doscovered this video :D
I would put filter pedal before the comp as it is the dynamic of your playing who trigger them, you do not want to iron flat that dynamic before a filter.
Fantastic guide. I’ve been playing bass for almost 30 years, and never dived into pedals much. My first pedal is a pre-amp style with eq, drive, and compression. This helps me understand how to expand my sounds given what I like, without having to play/buy a $1000 worth of pedals. I’ll gladly add all I can to this video to get it in front of other’s eyes.
My compliments. January ‘22 was when I discovered it. I wish I had had this 15 years ago, when I bought my first bass. 😁😁😁 I would suggest, if you have not done it already, one more episode per pedal group. Five minutes of exploring would do wonders. Thanks again!
This is exactly what I needed. I've had a multi-effects panel for quite some time now, and never really managed to get much out of it. With this information, I can go at it again with some knowledge of what I'm doing.
Great video...well put together and very usfull for me. Ive stayed away from pedals but getting a feeling they may help me over all. Want to do some EDm covers with the band and maybe create some new sounds. Brill Vid !
i'm just learning bass and it really helps you going threw each sound every pedal makes. I'm really leaning towards the big muff and pog combo it sounded awesome . im not rushing to buy pedals as im still learning but your vid really helps me keep motivated thanks.
Great video! very enlighting! Thank you so much. I´m about to start with the "pedal vibe". I´m thinking of multi-effect stuff. I think it suits me better.
Fantastic guide for us beginners - thank you for posting and giving such clear descriptions for what each effect can offer. I find those multi FX units bewildering - so this has helped me so much. Thank you
this video was EXACTLY what i was looking for, i have years of experiance with guitar but just finally purchased a bass,i do alot of home recording and needed a good source for Bass effects and you delivered that perfectly.i also learned alot about what order to put the pedals in ,very handy info there too,Thank you Very much!
Good Morning. I decided to start with the Boss sy. I'm loving it. Running it with my traben Vapor5. It is most excellent will definitely stay subbed great vids!
Just saw this today ... I want to thank you for this -- I think this is a fantastic introduction to effects for bass players. I didn't use effects for many years but have started to incorporate them more recently into my playing, and this has helped a lot. I have been using a multi-effects unit for a bit to try and figure things out, but I will trade it in soon and start getting individual ones. Many thanks!
This might be utter blasphemy to true musicians so I apologize in advance. Had a Jazz style bass to rock out on but it was too heavy hurt my shoulder/back so I swapped it for a semi-hollow violin bass. Was wondering if there were any pedals or boards that could help be emulate other basses. So, less of 'effect' pedals with reverb, phase, Wah, etc. and more of a 'can I get my Paul McCartney, round mellow thumping to sound like John Deacon, or a 90's alt rock, or a Wooten funk thing'? I know everyone would say, Just get those guitars for those styles but I'm limited on space and cash.
I see no ones answered so I’ll go for it, you would probably want preamp at the very end because your going to be going to an audio interface or an amp so the end is the best.
Well done video, sir. I'm curious to know what effect set up was used at the outset of this video. Was it created through the Boss GT-B1? If not, how? Thank you.
Please help. Is there an effects box to adjust levels of decay? In some settings, we use an electric bass, but want it to decay quickly just as an acoustic bass does...are there ways to achieve an "acoustic bass" decay on an electric bass? We want the decay for big band swing rather than relying upon a sudden "dampening" of the sound. I am NOT a bassist, so please overlook my ignorance. I assume you know exactly what I am asking. Any help appreciated.
So, I'm not a bassist just yet, but I am currently building a PASSIVE MM Stingray and learning music theory in the meantime. I've been working on the bass for about 2 months now and nearly finished. I also learned everything on my own through RU-vid videos lol. Anyways, the first 2 pedals I've got my on are a loop station and an octave pedal. My question is, what pedals should I be looking at after those 2? And is there a more important pedal I should be getting before those 2? I mainly enjoy a lot of funk, jazz fusion, video game, and classic rock tunes
I'm having a hard time talking myself into bass pedals. Compressor, preamp, and maybe EQ are a necessity, but kinda wanna leave all this other nonsense to the guitarists. I got a 36" scale to pull my tone out of the mud and I don't want to dive right back into it.
For beginners you are absolutely best off with something like a zoom or boss multi effects pedal. They can be had very cheap used and sound pretty good imo. This way you can stick your toes into a little bit of everything. They usually come with a headphone jack as well for silent practice as well as a looper and some rhythm tracks. Buying individual pedals gets pretty pricey pretty quickly. Then you also have to worry about batteries, power supplies, daisy chain cables etc. Once you have some experience finding which pedals you need, then you can start building your board.
I know this is an old video by the time I finish writing the comment, but ligit when it came to the first compressor I could hear the difference in the plucking between the compressor being off and on, when it came to the slaps I couldn't hear anything that stood out, I'm not saying that's the fault of the gear I'll be the first one to tell you my ears work like a brick on a good day, so what exactly does that compressor for slap playing do for someone who is interested in these things but can't hear what it is exactly it'd doing?
What happens if you put a bass through a regular guitar overdrive pedal (or any pedal designed for guitar)? Will it damage the pedal? Does it depend on the volume?
Addressed my biggest concern in the first few minutes. Then went on to do an incredible job of presenting useful content! Not showcasing ability or talent. Information! What a fantastic piece of work! Thank you. My concern was, can I play my bass thru a guitar delay and not damage it.
I'm glad I stuck through this, gave me a better stance on what is possible for bass tone and I got to hear a good cover of Peaches by POTUSA... No ninja fights though.
