Man, your guides have been the best. I've been able to do the Fight Caves and Vorkath on my first tries because of your detailed guides! I tend to get overwhelmed with too much information or things i don't understand but you explain them in such an easy way. Thank you Josh
Wow very thorough guide. I have 2k vork KC currently Some of the gear info is a bit dated as of 2022 - toxic blowpipe is still viable but not great, and you would use amethyst darts (which are the same middleground between price and effectiveness) Dragonfire Ward now gives a large ranged strength bonus, so it's highly recommended if you're ranging this boss. Another high recommendation is a dragon hunter weapon if you can afford it; they greatly increase kill speeds and profit but are still 70m+ Note that you can also melee vorkath, which is considered the current meta due to reduced supply cost. For melee vork, you would want to use a lance, as comparable stab weapons are much slower. That said, I started my first kc's a long time ago with just dhide, rcb, and anti-dragon shield and it was still over 1mil/hour so it's a great boss for midgame pvmers that will scale with your bank and levels.
I know it's an old comment but holy moly, I didn't realise just how terrible the blowpipe is now. I have full elite void, 80 range (i know it's low), amy darts, salve amy, imbued archer ring and 70% of my hits are 0's. I'm good at avoiding the attacks, it's just I never hit properly. Do you think I should get my ranged up or switch to a dragon crossbow? I don't have the cash for a dragon hunter crossbow but I feel link the blowpipe isn't as good as a dragon cb.
@@ChesterCheatin God dhide is actually better offensively than void at low ranged levels with TBP, since it has significantly more base accuracy (void is more like a multiplier) Doublecheck your setup, make sure to use ranging/divine/bastion. Salve ei. Pray Rigor/eagle eye the entire time. Since the tbp nerf, BGS spec (and hitting high with them) is a lot more important. DCB is going to kill at roughly the same speed, just more reliant on ruby spec procs. DHCB is a massive step up in speed and quality of life; worth selling your bank for if you're going to grind this boss. If you don't have the money for it yet, simply raising your ranged level is actually a massive gain in DPS. I'm showing 80->99 range as a 31% damage increase, or +1.6% per level (actual gain depends on specific gear, enemy, and certain breakpoints)
@@Halibut86 Once I got vorki down it turned super easy, I'll be getting my ranged up to 90 to speed up kills and change gear as you suggested, thanks for the advice! o7
Your guides are amazing. Clear, concise, and simplistic yet in depth Im using your Jad guide now, on my 5th attempt. Was previously trying on OSRS Mobile, now im on a laptop with a monitor so i should have an easier time. Thanks for all you do Josh.
This is the best guide ever, thank you for calling out the other guides all saying you need elects void and a dhc you’re the real mvp ! Will be killing vorkath tonight using this guide!
thought i would explain this because you seemed to miss it in the guide, otherwise this guide is amazingly helpful, and actually helped me get my first vork kill (watching it made me always get your videos in my recommended btw, so congrats on that) bit late on this but vorkath maxes out with tier 3 dragonfire protection, so super antifire (2) + dragonfire shield (1) =3 Super antifire (2) + prey mage (1) =3 or Normal antifire (1) + prey mage (1) + dragonfire shield (1) =3 the reason you still get damage when on dragonfire protection 4 (super antifire (2) + prey mage (1) + dragonfire shield (1)) is because the fourth level of dragonfire protection actually does nothing, the only reason to stack all four is if you frequently forget to refresh your potion because while you will still get hit hard with protection 2 you will likely not get 1shot which can give you time to re apply your potion, however if you are wielding the shield it is simply more efficient to take a normal extended antifire as they last twice as long and will stop you from even needing to refresh the potion for multiple kills.
you're amazing, thank you so much. you explained it perfectly. this is the best guide video i've ever seen maybe? i died on my first go, but stayed calm and got it on the second. now i can continue on with the quest!
Died about 8 times, couldnt figure it out. First kill after watching this and I did it! Counting out loud the attacks and knowing to turn around 2 tiles early during the poison phase were my key changes. Thanks for the great guide. I watched soo many other guides trying to figure out what I was missing and your version nailed it! Subscribed for sure!!! Dragon plateskirt first drop too =)
The easiest way to do Zulrah is going mage only, if you're a beginner. Make use of the pillars and distance when tanzanite form appears, because you are guaranteed to fail every hit on it. I also recommend to use the zulrah plugin on runelite, which is downloadable through the plugin hub, to keep track of which phase you're on. If you haven't already complete the diary yet, the best of luck. 😊💎
Thanks to you, I defeated Vorkath for the first time for the Dragon Slayer 2 quest in just one try. I was so nervous but I'm feeling more confident for next time when I try to defeat him again at level 732 lol. You are a godsend sir :')
Bruh you’re vids are so nice and easy to follow why the hell are these not recommended to OSRS players more. Easy to follow and understand and the simplified build set ups and inventory set up are amazing.
Thanks Hayden, glad it helped. The OSRS community don't really like trying new things and as im not a famous guide maker, people never really recommend me. I'll keep making guides though :)
Even after all these years I love all your OSRS content. The high quality, brilliant voice to listen to+ it was your guide that helped me to get my first fire cape. Vorkath only uses it's dragonfire bomb when he notices that ur not paying attention though :p
I really need to thank you, before I watched your guide I got 6 kills in total while dying a good 15-20 times. After your guide I've just hit 110 KC & have only died a few times mainly from me being clumsy, so thank you very much 😁
This is the best guide I've seen ever, not just vorkath, not even just runescape. Hands down the best in depth description of something I've seen. Liked and subscribed, its criminal for content this good to be free.
Thank you so much! Your Jad guide and now this one break it down soo easily for a beginner, and you give us a set up/guide that obviously is not the most efficient but you set us up with an understanding to become more efficient after a few kills or more gp!
One thing that I find helps a lot is playing with tile markers and/or the plug in that has a shadow appear wherever you drag your mouse over, this just helps you make sure you stay in a straight line during the acid pool phase which is what gives a lot of players problems. Nice guide man.
Very, good, guide! just did ds2 then watched this, got 1 kc trip, then 2 kc, then 3kc trip :D Also wanna suggest people turn on runelites tile marker functions, so u know what the server sees. very handy for acid phase.
Thanks again for the guide! I just finished my first kill for DS2. I've been watching a lot of your videos lately. How do you find the time to play so many MMORGPS, yet still play enough of a game like RS to make high level content? I'm blown away!
Managed to kill Vorkath in DS2 thanks to your guide. Really really clear, for a beginner like me. Had some trouble because in the quest I didn't have to touch Vorkath for him to start so I had my potions late and forgot to pray, almost died but made it in the end, my first attempt. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Top guide, thanks man. Only thing I'd change is calling tick eating advanced, it's probably the easiest manipulation to do on the game and the most useful thing to learn about. And I feel as though most players will have experienced tick eating at some point if they're up to Vorky. Edit: I also realise this isn't a tick manipulation video, just might be useful to slip a quick demo in and kill 2 birds with 1 stone
OMG Thank you SO MUCH!! He was really causing me issues in DS2, watched this guide, and used only 6 manta rays for the whole fight...was gonna grind elite void too. THANK YOU!!!!
Small correction at 20:42 , it is known as combo food. Tick eating is when you eat a food timed on the perfect tick so that the damage received is what was left of HP before. You end up with exactly the number of HP that the food heals for. From OSRS wiki "Tick-eating: Certain types of damage, particularly Ranged or Magic attacks are calculated prior to them being applied to a player's health. If a player heals before the damage is applied, they can survive attacks which would otherwise kill them. Although risky, it can be beneficial to preserve supplies or survive extremely damaging attacks (such as Sotetseg's energy ball) and, if done consistently, skilled players can use this to do activities that would otherwise require Prayer points or levels, such as the Fight Caves. As they are stackable, purple sweets are often used for this purpose, although any food can be used. However, tick-eating is not possible in PvP situations, and some bosses, such as Tz-Kal Zuk, do not allow for tick-eating and will deal full damage regardless."
Great guide mate! Hate to be that guy, but eating a karabwan and shark is called combo eating or double eating. Tic eating is eating food at the same tic that the dmg registers, so that you end up with the hp the food heals. That strat only works on a few types of attacks like zulrah, bloat drops and soteseg redballs, etc. Just a minor mistake in a otherwise fantastic beginers guide!!!
Ahh you're absolutely right, tick eating is eating after the projectile has been fired and damage locked in, so your hp raises above the total hit, this was combo eating, darn :P good spot man!
Hey! I just wanted to say that you helped me get my first kill after more time than I would like to admit but thank you so much! Keep up the awesome work!
This is insane. I have not played Runescape in like 8 years and I SO want to go back and try this. On top of that I should have every item except that bloody necklace! Would make for a great swan song of my own.
I usually bring dragon cb with ruby bolts and diamond bolts. The ruby bolt spec can hit 100 and my pb is under 2 minutes. Keep ruby bolts until vorkath is over 50% hp, then switch to diamond because it is better max hit, than ruby spec.
*Watched a quick ~5-minute guide: 'OSRS Dragon Slayer II - Vorkath with Noob Gear (85 combat 77 ranged)'* *Learned everything I needed to know, while blasting 'The Show' by Lenka* singing I'm just a little girl 🤣🤣🤣 *Killed it easily in my first few tries.* *I don't know why people are making unecessary long and boring videos for fights in Runescape lmao.*
Hey Josh, I am just getting into bossing with my higher level friends and would love it if you could make GWD guides :) You do such an amazing job describing what I should know going in, and this would be so helpful! Thanks
Thank you so much, I didn't even know you make guides, I mostly watch other contents on your channel such as "worst mmo's" and why New World sucks (but doesn't have to) :D For anyone like me that is a bit cheap and wants to try with the dragon crossbow - don't. The toxic blowpipe is a game changer, because of the speed. You can get heavier hits with dragon crossbow + broad bolts, but because of the level of the enemy, you won't hit often enough anyway. So Toxic Blowpipe all the way! Thanks man!
Brilliant guide, I’m currently getting two kills per trip with blowpipe and using blessed d hide with bgs. I’m 88 range do you think I should switch to elite void?
Honestly Josh, with the current state of mmorpgs and nothing really out right now worth covering at least until new world, I think you’d do well to keep making Osrs guides. I’ve maxed 3 accounts over the course of 16 years on the game, and would love to help or suggest ideas if you’d like!
20:42 This is referred to as combo eating, not tick eating :) Tick eating is when you eat a food at the same tick as an attack that would have killed you, reducing the possible damage of the attack down to the hp of your player(slightly more advanced than combo eating)
