Ah, the good old "game featuring Dante from Devil May Cry".

If we ever get remakes of Dmc1 and Dmc2, Reuben Langdon would definitely make Dante's bad lines in both games good

Remember when there was a DMC reboot with Dante not being Dante? No? Me neither.

Dante is confirmed to have the Pierce skill in the HD remaster, so he is effectively a reskin of Raidou who many saw previously as superior because he had pierce while Dante didn't. I just hope he is a cheap dlc in the west or hell even a free one since we have to wait an extra half year for it to release over here.

Dante was also playable in Viewtiful Joe.

Ironic how is appearence is from DMC2 but the attitude is like his normal cocky self

If it was DMC 4 dante chasing the demifiend, you would hear constant style switching down the corridors XD

Still his roundtrip is done with Rebellion and it's Alastor with the lightning effect.

I think Rebellion deals electric damage because of the elemental amulets that can be found in DEE EM CEE TOO, and if I remember correctly, Dante starts with the electric amulet equipped. I know they only work when he is in DT, but since he's using Rebellion here and not Alastor, I don't see any other explanation of why it's not a physical attack move

The fact the developers actually liked dmc2 is crazy

...I just realize that this means DMC and Persona share a world...

I mentioned it a reply below but I figured I'd point it out. Pretty sure Damte is using Alastor during his round trip animation which is a lightning based sword from DMC1. His outfit looks like the DMC2 one though so it would make more sense to let him use rebellion or sparda but for whatever reason they didn't.

I've recently started playing SMTIII Nocturne. It's pretty tough, but it's very rewarding when you overcome challenges.

It's very illogical the fact that round trip make electric damage, the sword used is not alastor and the only way to make electric damage in dmc 2 was in devil trigger. But it's very, very more logical that the French translation of dmc 2 (and probably some of other european translations) have all the story line translated but not items or menu. It's very professional to have

its a possibility that the sword might be Alastor, that sword does have an electric element to it.

Both of the devil triggers in DMC3 are personally my favorite. because there are so many designs for Dante and Virgil DT and it looks good on them, while playing the game.

The sword that he was using in the boss fight is alaster which has a electric element in dmc 1

remember this game catching my attention when i was pretty young at a game shop and picture of dante on front and that i was into every turn based jrpg could get my hands on.

Update: We definitely got Reuben Langdon as Dante in this game. And Pierce.

I didn't know he was coming out as DLC, and it seems he's coming with Pierce no less. Hot damn!

I think round trip is electric because they probably got confuse with Alastor the sword from the first game that had electric… I think

You know if Dante does get his English voice Actor in the HD re master then I am more than willing to let gall the fact that narratively it makes no sense for him to be here considering that hes for the true demon path but it's Dante. On the flip side at least we do get Raidou and hopefully Dante will be decently priced....... Assuming this won't be like what happened with persona 5 and how most DLC costed for that game especially for Royal since most of it was just a bunch of old costumes that were over priced. Anyway still an interesting video to watch and learn about and this is a little scummy of me, but now we NEED some Devil May Cry and Shin Megami Tensei fanfiction crossovers that are good!

So your asking why Dante's rebellion round-trip attack emits an electrical affect in his attack animations huh? Why Elementary my dear Chum it's because of the devil heart system mechanics present only in Devil May Cry 2. You would have known this if you would played that game which this particular version of Dante appeared in.

As much as I love Reuben Langdon as Dante, maybe we can have someone else voice him this time around. I always thought Dante's voice & design from DMC2 was kinda cool, despite being the worst game in the series and having very little lines.

Guys I just bought my first devil may cry game. Dmc3 but it's so damn hard lol. I feel bad for putting it on easy mode just to progress. Damn I guess I gotta put it back on normal and "git good"

I'm not ashamed to say when Dante was missing, I had no interest in getting this but now he's DLC I'm 100% getting this. Don't know if Reuben could pull off the voice for DMC2 Dante though. As we know it's DMC2 Dante in looks but DMC1 Dante in personality who is way more laid back, provocative, and cocky. Modern fans would know these traits best with Nero. Reuben's Dante isn't usually any of this, being more fun loving. I'd be beyond hyped if they brought back Drew for this version but saying that Reuben will probably be fine if he's voicing. Now they should add Vergil DLC, that would blow up the internet.

Monster Hunter World has Dante's sword as thunder element there as well; in lore Alastor IS an electric based weapon so its not illogical that these cross-overs have it that way. Gameplay wise I would prefer them to be non-elemental. Or in the case of MHW, make it hidden element so you can choose.
