Here's a simple concept that is heard on many Buddy Rich drum solos. It's simple in its make up but the challenge is keeping it even and eventually getting the speed up.
My overheads are OPR Grill U-Mod www.openplanrecording.com/product-page/special-the-grill-u-mod-ships-feb-2022 The snare mic is a Shure SM57, the tom mics are Sennheizer MD504 (discontinued) and the kick mic is an Audiotechnica ATM250
Your lessons are amazing Darren. I’ve paid hundreds of dollars with teachers on systems to use with syncopation. Haha I’ve seen all the greats abuse this lock abs as with all these “simple” ideas, if I’m still finding them simple it’s really on me to push the exploration of the idea till it opens up.
