Palmolive rules. One of the lowest priced yet best shaving creams out there.

Great to show that it doesn't need to cost much to start up DE shaving. Personally I consider shaving a Hobby and so I'm way down the rabbit hole, although I do have limits that I'm willing to spend on particular gear. The main thing is enjoy your shaving whether your on a budget or a hobbyist with a large collection. Keep safe mate.

Hi Kevy, nice shave. The Palmolive cream is quite cheap here in germany, less than 1 € in many stores. Also some of the big drugstore chains have their own brand and these creams are even less expensive ( Balea sensitive for less than 0,70 €, and it works....) For a budget shave, I would suggest a Lord L6 or the Lord Cool. The Lord cool is completly made of plastic....It's a challange.....

Hi Kevy. The Gillette London Bridge is really good. I get 100 blades for like USD 4.50. Very cheap over here in Malaysia. I'm a big fan of these blades. I get 6-7 good shaves from each blade. Very smooth and pretty sharp. They're actually made by Gillette in China for the Philippines market. They're also commonly found in Indonesia too.

Hey Chris, Pears is a great pre shave because it's a glycerin soap. I've told you this before my freind. All the cube is is a glycerin soap with a drop of essential oil in the cauldron to add to the marketing value! Just marketing. Told you so bro 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I hate to mention this but try some Coconut oil all natural as a pre shave. Your gonna love it. Apply about like you apply pre shave oil from anyone. If you're trying to save money for $4-5 dollars you can have a pre shave that'll last for years. Adds a nice touch and scent to any shave. I use mine on every shave. My skin loves it.

HEYO !! In the world of wet shaving I believe that there are no cheap or very expensive things, what determines a good shave is the result in each individual there is expensive equipment that simply does not provide a good result or the other way around. What I mean is let's enjoy each and every product on the shaving market !!!

Nice shave Kevy💈💈 Nothing wrong with a simple, economical shave. To tell the truth, if you've been in this game long enough, you'll come to respect inexpensive shaves more and more. Not complicated, no decision making, just grab and go. Yeah the high end stuff is fantastic in quality, performance and scents, but a low cost shave can be pleasant as well. I love the old school post shave products especially, and Palmolive cream/stick is a favorite. Good job and great video, thanks. Enjoy!

This video is great because it might convince cartridge shavers to give safety razor shaving a try. If they watch a few how-to-shave videos, they will find that DE shaving gives more comfortable and closer shaves. Like you said, the downside is going down the wet shaving rabbit hole. For example, my new Leaf Twig SE razor is coming today. It's hard to resist new shaving products...especially if we watch shaving videos like yours. But they are enjoyable and informative. Keep them coming. We started wet shaving to save money. Now that's funny.

A pretty good deal is when rockwell gives a 100 pack of their blades and a blade bank with the purchase of a razor like the 6c for $50. Then buy a couple cans of equate moisturizing shave gel for $1.98 each. 3 containers of gillete aftershave gel for $2 each and a Parker 125gram alum block and your set for a couple years on blades. And quite awhile on everything else . the value and savings of de wet shaving is fantastic compared to cassette blades that cost $2 each . for example spending $178 for 1800 de blades. Vs getting 1800 cassette blades that would cost $3600 dollars.

I started wet shaving about 7-8 years ago. At the time I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not so I went to Amazon and picked up a set of brush, stand, stainless bowl, and a hockey puck soap. I think it was about 25 dollars. Once I realized I was going to stick with it I upgraded my soap to Col. Conk’s hockey puck. After that I searched eBay high and low and found a vintage Old Spice mug from the 1960’s. Most might laugh and think that’s ridiculous considering there are so many nicer bowls. My dad had that Old Spice mug. He’s been gone 33 years now, he was 49, I’m currently 55. Every time I see that mug it just makes me smile. I used the Col. Conk soaps for years then a few months back I was introduced to Taylor of Old Bond Street. Good Lord!! Game changer. I’m still using a cartridge razor but have been considering switching to a DE. Looking at the Merkur34c, as per everyone’s recommendation as a starter. Here’s the thing though, my beard is not thick at all. The cartridge razors do me just fine. At 55 years old I can get away with shaving on Sunday and Thursday. Even then, I could go the whole week and not look scruffy. Ah, forgot to mention I upgraded to a custom made handle from Etsy, with a synthetic knot. I just bought a Taylor of Old Bond Street brush about 2 weeks ago. Not overly impressed with it, not for the price I paid for it. Love their soaps though.

Hi Kevy you are correct you don't have to spend a fortune to get a good shave. When I go for a cheap shave I use a King C Gillette razor cost me £13 with blades and I was surprised how good it is a steal at the price. Parmolive cream £1.90, Astra blade 2p per shave, Forest Fresh A/S £2 a bottle Nivea post shave. Each shave equals less than 10p not including the razor. Keep well and keep safe.

I think it is GREAT how you conducted this shave. I have nothing against extremely expensive/premium shave products but I also don't that it is a realistic expectation that such items will be used by the majority of the people who view these videos and it's excellent that those who are most budget minded(voluntarily or forced by circumstance)have the opportunity to see a "Premium Shave" does not mean it has to be done with Premium Products. Parenthetically speaking, one of the things I don't like about the wet shaving hobby is the the elitist attitude that some wet shavers develop. I had(no names or hints of mentioned) one guy actually think he was insulting me by attacking my opinion on a certain razor as being too expensive. He thinks that by calling someone "cheap" that he has succeeded in landing an insult when all he has done is point out, in a less than diplomatic/intelligent way, that I am frugal or thrifty and to me those are Attributes not Detriments. I am not going to allow his ignorance affect or dictate how I enjoy this hobby and it is very heartening to execute such demonstrations. So, do carry one conducting shaves using all types, manner and price level of products. ;-)

I’m wondering if you know the hardness level of your water, as it seems you always get great lather. I bought water hardness testing strips off eBay. If the strips are accurate, my water here in Ohio is just slightly harder than diamonds. No question - getting good lather from some soaps and creams can be a challenge. The effective motto: more product, more product.

I've spent a fortune on razors, brushes and soaps but I still use the ol' pears soap in the shower before I shave. The scent reminds me a bit of barley sugar sweets! A top tip for beginners with aftershave is if you rub your palms together and wait a few secs the alcohol will begin to evaporate which will lessen the 'burn'. You may or may not like the burn, and can tune the 'wait time' to taste but on days when I've had a maybe a little too close a shave and I'm nervous about the splash, those few seconds help make it a much more pleasant experience! I tend to use Stirling and PAA splashes which seem to pack quite a punch in the burn department.

Good evening Kevy! That introduction: If you would use Scotch Whisky (single malt works best) your throat would be well tuned. When I read the title "Money Busting Shave" I thought you had went full in on the most expensive gear...lol. You speak the truth, you can get a wonderfully close and comfortable shave with budget products. I find if I use the items for what they are (tying NOT to compare them to the very best) most things work and do fine. Let me tell you, the price of for a night out in Dundee was: 28 GBP (rounded down, includes a late night Kebab from Union Street). I am sure the prices have gone up...lol. Kevy, stay away from Orange McDonalds shakes...never forget that story. If your shave gear works for you, it is the best shave...expensive price doesn't guarantee the best shave.
