I headed over to Upper Kananaskis Lake with a couple of friends for an unforgettable day on the ice. Weather was good and fish were aggressive, a perfect recipe for bent rods and big smiles ! Come along for the ride and see how it went !
@Raised Outdoors When I filmed this, it was about - 5 C with a windchill factor of -11C. At -10 C windchills can reach - 17 C, - 20 C. Still doable, but, like I said, anything colder than -10 C, my tent and heater are up. I've hunted in way colder all day, but in that case you get to move and warm up...
Great day on the ice!!! I understand the feeling of not having enough mobility from the cold to re-tie leader knots due to catching fish…. makes you really nervous on the next fish!!!
Awesome video, although I’d try to refrain from touching trout you aren’t intending to keep with gloves as it can hurt the fish. But it looks pretty cold and without a shack I’m sure it was so understandable
Thank you. My gloves have rubber palms, and they were wet at the time, none of the fish got hurt. magazine.outdoornebraska.gov/2021/06/why-wear-rubber-gloves-when-handling-fish/#:~:text=Bauer%2C%20a%20longtime%20fisheries%20biologist,and%20they%20save%20your%20hands.%E2%80%9D
