In this short interpretive video we go for an overnight trip around Newberry Caldera area. It was very cold that night and fortunately we brought enough gear to stay warm. The trip was very relaxing to be out in such beautiful nature alone.

Thank you woodsman! I saw that orange tripod too. It is a good balance of quality and lightweight. Yep winter camping is a very pure experience. Tougher and more rewarding.

The Volcano has came to life again! Such a clear and beautiful night Matt, I was thinking how far away your fire might be seen from.Your dog loves lending a hand with the sled but clearly you enjoyed a huge share of the workout. Your drone footage is awesome. I recently got a drone and now I wonder where it's been all my life. Great adventure, Matt. I'd love to get out into it, but after some traveling around the Southwest United States, I ended up with COVID.

That looked like a really cool adventure! I can imagine it was pretty tiring pulling all of that gear. Those drone shots at night were sweet and that shot of the stars was incredible! Did you have to bring your own firewood?

Thanks Northcoast. That was definitely pushing the limits with that heavy sled. Since I had a sled I brought wood. Could possibly find it but always nice to have one less task to worry about.

That was a weird sight. There were empty cheap beer cans behind it, so some weirdos being disrespectful. Not sure if the trees were already stumps before they got there or not.

Thank you. I was wondering if anyone would notice the smoke falling in. I mostly did it so I could match it with the fire scenes after. I appreciate that someone missed my voice, I was kinda worried when I noticed the video seemed better without it haha. I have MSR mountaineering snow shoes. I used to have cheap costco ones and used those til they were broke and got some nice ones.
