Moving to Jamaica to farm and live off the land sounds like a dream to many. For Canadian native Israel this is becoming more and more of a reality. In this sit-down I learned so much about Canadian history and the history of African-Canadians. I learned why Israel looks at Jamaican as the land of liberation and freedom. I learned so much in this one and I think you might too.

Exactly the Jamaican people in the country and in the diaspora can make Jamaica 🇯🇲. The government is not the answer to everything. We must team up with the government and hold them responsible for what needs to be done.
@KellyPlummer

Exactly. They think it's only the Government's responsibility to build a nation. The majority sit and do nothing but complain.

Kudos to this brother for his decision to move to Jamaica. I left Jamaica when I was in my mid teen, to be with my father here in Canada. What people got to understand, Canada, gives you some amazing opportunities, but that comes with a price. You expect to work and build Canada. The systems taxed you horrendously, and if you save money from what you've already taxed for your retirement. The government comes again and ask for their cut of your retirement money. The idea that what you make on a job is actually yours it is not. You work and work and work without any end in sight. No one wants to subjugate themselves to these regime anymore. There are so many people who are waking up and are either returning to Jamaica or people who visit Jamaica. I fell in love and bought and built to live. Jamaica is truly heaven on earth, the pull to move to Jamaica is infectious, it is magnetic, and I'm on that same train. Living conditions and vibes are out of this world. People don't listen to fake news trying to discourage people from Jamaica.

I thoroughly enjoyed your interview with Israel. As a born Canadian, however, I was raised in Jamaica. I can very much relate to what Israel was saying relating to the quiet racism. This is the reason for my move. We have already purchased in St. Ann and we are preparing to make the move permanently. All the best to you, Israel. You are already on your way to success. I will definitely link up to your Facebook group.

Jamaica is not a cemetery, you spend all the fruitful years contributing to another country's labour force that directly help GDP, then you want to return to enjoy Jamaica that the Jamaicans who stayed there built. You better not come with any complaints

@@NativeNomad10 you know how much of us sending money every month to support our families back home for them to survive or live a fairly good life? Look at remittances, look at returning residents that buying some of these houses and spending money that was made in other countries and bring it back to Jamaica.

I respect his mentality of coming together or organizing to resolve issues. However he is contradicting himself to some degree. In Canada he organized to have the local government make changes. The reason is because we need the government to work for its citizens. The same is true in Jamaica. A few citizens can only have a small impact compared to good government policy. Such as repairing roads, upgrading schools and hospitals etc. Jamaicans need to organize and hold the government accountable and make sure it works for their needs.
@NativeNomad10

That is true, partisanship in Jamaica is strong so the government get away with a lot. It's improving though, because now, access to information is readily at hand

Great interview thanks Throp! The sad thing about this is that some of these same racist people are moving to Jamaica, because of the things they are hearing and will eventually start racism up because they are ungodly and take it everywhere they go. This man is so intelligent and wise. My parents were Jamaicans migrated to the USA then moved back to Jamaica now passed on. Ever since then I have been trying so hard to move there, land is so expensive but my heart is in Jamaica, nature is everything to me after God. It's taking me long due to lack of funds but mostly lack of good connections. So thank you this interview is giving me lots of hope. My Laid back quiet private lifestyle and being a health fanatic, and eating organic is costing a lot here at home in the states 😅

I'm Jamaican and I live here and I can tell the type of people that actually decide to move here aren't racists' because the draw is not just the land its the people and how we live, its not perfect but there is something special about us in this place. I think you should work with Throp or Izrael's group and just do a little everyday towards your goal and just make it happen my friend you only have one life.

Well they are in for a rude awakening. That's Jamaica and the majority of the country people are the same race as Isreal. Racist works in number, when they aren't in numbers they humble themselves and maybe learn to become human.

This is such an empowering interview. As a Jamaican-Canadian, I had the honourable pleasure of meeting Israel back in 2011 in Africville Nova Scotia, as the president of the York United Black Students Alliance (YUBSA) of York University. A few of us made the journey from Toronto to Nova Scotia (18 hour drive) to learn about our deeply rooted African Canadian History. Israel and El Jones took us under their wings and vibration during the course of our stay. It changed my life. So glad he's landed in Jamaica and is stirring the consciousness for Jamaicans abroad to come back home. #ImSoScotian #HammondsPlains #Beechville #NorthPreston #EastPreston #OrphangeforColouredChildren

Looking at this guy without him saying his connection, you could see has Jamaican culture in him. I would love to see you guys build on the hospitals, like getting a more up to date EKG, XRAY MACHINES IN ER. I MOVED TO JA AND MOVED BACK TO US. I wanted to help the Black River Hospital but there were too much dishonesty. If this young man could the hospitals, that would be great. Looking forward to see some movement on this front. Thank you.

He's right about racism with a smile in Canada. I'm Canadian, now dual, living in the USA and the difference is under cover and disguised better. This also goes for judgement in general there, all judgement is just more subtle, outwardly.
