Hi Jeven! I’ve just bought the case and Videomicro. I’ve looked at some of the footage and there is a weird hissing noise coming from the audio. Don’t suppose you had the same issue and know how to solve it? Thanks!

I have been looking everywhere for this case the last month and actually gave up and ordered a floating handle that has a compartment for keys and coins. The idea was to hide the ugly audio adapter inside and drill holes for the usb c cable and 3,5 jack. But now I’ll just use my newly purchased case. 😃

@@JevenDovey Yeah I got it from Ebay. Thanks for this find! I'm currently using a really small cheese plate with an epoxied audio adapter to a piece of velcro. it's bigger than I want it to be. this will solve that. I love the gopro because it's just less intrusive than my GH5. I can carry it around and folks aren't threatened as much. I find a lot of people get jumpy these days while I'm filming, I think they think they they are going to be in some spoof video. They are just the background noise.

@@scottburrow8293 This case solves all the issues with using the gopro to vlog. I personally prefer the smaller setup because it makes it so easy compared to my GH5. Bummer they sold out so fast on Amazon. I checked the links yesterday and they were available. Glad there is some still available on ebay!

The Hero 7 is pretty friggin’ impressive. Even the built in audio is usually pretty usable, but this is a much better solution for external audio.

I'm a nursing most of RU-vidrs they still use the big camera and the big Mike I think the GoPro with this case it's going to do most of the work and it's not heavy which is cool

Yeah I was vlogging with a DSLR and man I couldn't do it anymore. WAAAYYY to much work lol. Just got hero 6 for $150 on eBay. It to good to turn down. I may upgrade to the 7 in the future

Great review, I was wondering if there was ever going to be a proper setup for the GoPro . Now there is. Question for you though, is there a way to know if your ever going to be centered in the shot with a GoPro, or is it through trial and error? Or does it really matter where your going to be in the shot?

Trial and error. Its actually pretty easy to get your shot right. Just need to try it a few times

Does the case help shield the microphone from the electronic noise the mic picks up by having the camera wifi and Bluetooth on? This is a problem I am trying to solve.

Problem is that you cannot use quick capture with an external microphone on a GoPro 5 upwards. Makes the GoPro a pretty difficult camera to ‘capture the moment’ with which ironically, is GoPro’s tag line!

Think I will design one and then print it on the 3D printer ! Shame the power dies so quick with the mic and even quicker with the remote.. and then the mic is 1/2 a second out of sync when you use an External power supply with it and the mic.. all in all not great in my opinion. Great review.

All I can say is I live in Malaysia and for 3 months I have been trying to buy a Go Pro mic adapter so I can do a similar set up. For 3 months these f**king overpriced, pieces of tech made by Go Pro have been unavailable seemingly all over Asia.

Bro! I have the same Rode mic. But the dead cat keeps dangling off and there is no way I can hide it in my videos. I have to turn it around. I have the same Ulanzi case and a GoPro hero 7. Any tips on how to set it up steady?

The on-board microphone on the hero7 is actually pretty good. I tried with and without a microphone and actually prefer without a microphone but this case is very cool

Yeah the onboard works fine but does have its limitations. If you are in any sort of wind then you need an external mic

I looked into this for a while for my Hero 7 but ended up upgrading to the Hero 8 with the Media Mod now - works epically with the Rode Wireless Go and has certainly upped my vlog game!

I have a big big problem. I just bought accessories for GoPro 7 vlogging, but not the Camera itself. Then theya just release GoPro 8. So I wonder should I buy 7 or 8? I've got a Osmo action and love it. But it doesn't have an audio jack. The Audio is okay, but not the quality viewers would prefer. Considering getting GP7 and this is more enticing.

My issue with ALL of these cases is that NONE of the content creators ever show how, if at all, these cases can fit into a gimbal. I have a Feiyutech G6 and these cases would be useless if they make the GoPro no longer fit in the gimbal.

It is supply and demand. There is a shortage and a major failure on GoPro's part, so us consumers have to pay more. The question is are you willing to do so? We did because we were tired of waiting and finally found a place that had it in stock.

The only negative issue I see here is visible at 2:29. Looks like it's necessary to remove the door covering the USB port in order to connect the external mic adapter. So, now it's no longer water proof.

Great video bro. By the way, The audio box is like a $49 to $55 dollars depending on the seller, so I just bought a $30 dollars Digital voice recorder with external mic which can record a professional RAW PCM quality wave audio that can capture a whooping "1,536 kbps" that's way better than the build in audio from my GoPro Hero 7. And for the Audio Synchronization? Well what can I say, Mr. Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 can always do it for me automatically in just 2 clicks of a mouse.

I wanted to buy this but they keep getting some out. I do wish they had a few areas set up to connect an external light or even a power bank. My build includes a cheese plate beneath the cage to mount a power bank on for hiking and camping trips.

I’m getting this, I use an eos R for vlogging currently but I shoot photos and videos so it’s super impractical to keep switching between a video setup to a photography setup through the vlog. Once I get this I’ll have the eos R just for photography and the GoPro just for video. Thanks for the great video!

I'm going to get that case for sure. I build last rig based off your other video and it works great but you are right about the little issues. I made a bracket on mine out of aluminum to hold the mic adapter. The only issue I see is that I wouldn't have a way to secure my battery pack. In my experience my camera is almost useless without the battery pack.

This is a great setup but I think. I've found the BEST setup for blogging with a GoPro....have you heard of the "BACKBONE SIDEARM"? I've been using it for a few months now.....its even better then this case.

Random GoPro question/opinion. I own a GoPro HERO 4+ and don't use it very much simple because there's no back screen and hate using my phone to see what the camera sees. Thought about selling it and getting a HERO 5 (hear good things about the HERO 7 but don't want to spend the money) for the back screen. But I recall all the reviews of the 5 say it sucks and only good thing about it is the back screen. What do you think, as GoPro user.

I picked one of those up last week, but trying using a smaller Saramonic microphone pugged right into the audio input for an even smaller package. I also sometimes use a lav mike if I'm feeling really "talky". Only thing I'm not thrilled with is the tension on that GoPro audio cable to make that bend, hopefully it will confirm to that bend.

I use the saramonic with the vari-angle bend up to 90 degrees. I dunno if it's my gopro adapter or the mic but it has a very faint ticking noise when it's a quiet environment. lemme know if u have the same problem

Yeah, sending that microphone back. It sucks. Lots of weird noises coming in my audio track. Picked up a GoPro Micro like Jeven recommended.

This looks like a nice set-up. But for me a little late. I saw your original video, built the set-up, found some areas not looking so nice to me, then I found the set-up by TubeNoob. A little bulky, but very sturdy *and* expandable to make it easy to add a screen or light if you want. Again, congratulations and I hope you sell a ton of these!

The problem I have had with vlogging with the go pro five and six is the rode microphone would only record audio as long as you turn off the camera completely between shots. The one touch recording has never worked with an non powered mic. Is the GoPro 7 the same? ATB Mike StayCornish😬

I haven't noticed any issues with the GP7 not recording audio with the external mic.
