I’m fascinated in The Underworld. As a scuba diver myself, I find the concept of the deeper diving and what’s in the deep sea so interesting!

That is so cool that you are a diver yourself! I would love to attempt doing it someday.

Someday after I finish my American history project, I wonder what will be next? Will I feel like diving into the literature I've never read? Maybe I should do some of that alongside. I feel some pressure around the project to get as much done with it as I can while I have momentum.

Your project sounds really interesting, and fun! I understand the feeling of wanting to get as much done as possible, but as long as you’re enjoying it, I don’t think that’s a bad thing!

Hi Micah, I recently subscribed to your channel and I have not been disappointed. I love your content and your book reviews very much. You’re doing an excellent job keep it up! You seem to be a fast reader, I am not that fast but my goal is 12-15 books a year. I’m currently reading The Reformatory which is very good. It’s fiction but based on a true story. I love reading both fiction and nonfiction so your channel will be great for covering both. Happy 2024 and looking forward to more vids!

I chose Moby Dick as my "intimidating classic " to read this year in part because of your video. I'm not ready to read it now so I can't join your group discussion.

I read Moby Dick last year and I was very intimidated as well. I put on the audiobook and it came to life! It is literally my favorite book now and after finishing it I realize how precious it is.

I’m almost finished reading Railways and The Raj: How the Age of Steam Transformed India by Christian Wolmar which has been fantastic. I’ve added many more books to my TBR from the notes. I’m looking into getting a biography of some of the British prime ministers during the 19th century like Gladstone or Disrael. Have you read any Micah?

Thank you. I've been wanting another book on India. Bonus. The author also wrote a book on the American railroad. That I can get from the library.

That sounds fantastic! The only Disraeli biography I have read so far is “The Young Disraeli” by Jane Ridley and I enjoyed that one. It covers his life before becoming PM, but it is really interesting.

Did The Underworld talk about OceanGate at all? I recently learned how difficult deep sea exploration is from Ship of Gold in the Deep Blue Sea by Gary Kinder. I read it last year after the Titan implosion and it provided a lot of context for me. It's part treasure hunting/adventure/scientific exploration/human tenacity story. I highly highly recommend.

Unfortunately it did not cover anything about OceanGate, but I wish it would have as well! That sounds really interesting, I’ll definitely add that to my TBR.
