I think the CD38 inhibitors Dr. Chini was referring to are the class of pharmaceutical drugs that have the potential to shut it down. Something you don't want to do. However using natural inhibitors like apigenin, luteolin, and quercetin can moderate the levels (at most 10-20%) without causing the kind of downsides presented by Chini. A natural reduction in CD38 consumption of NMN has shown to offer anti-aging health benefits that cannot be so easily discounted.

Ok, so taking apigenin + nmn is actually bad ? F! What about taking only nmn or only apigenin ?

A CD38 inhibitor you can already get for cheap OTC is apiggenin.

I take apigenin, but would taking both apigenin and quercetin have an effect on more types of tissues? Also apigenin is usually taken at bedtime and quercetin can be taken in the morning.

@@Battery-kf4vu I take both of them as well. It seems quercetin, like fisetin, is a senolytic. Apigenin seems to be more of a senomorphic, i.e. it reduces the secretion of damaging pro-inflammatory proteins by senescent cells (it's called 'Senescence-associated secretory phenotype' (SASP)). Both apigenin and quercetin have anti-cancer effecs. Apigenin, when combined with EGCG, has strong anti-cancer effects, at least in colon cancer as clinical studies have shown. The study I am referring to is alled "Prospective cohort comparison of flavonoid treatment in patients with resected colorectal cancer to prevent recurrence" and can be found in full text on Pubmed. The efficacy of Apigenin combined with EGCG or metformin is confirmed by various in vitro studies and mouse models and various cancers. I assume it also works in patients with other cancers due to the similar underlying mechanisms. There's an interesting full text apigenin review on Pubmed worth reading titled 'The Therapeutic Potential of Apigenin'.

Liposomal apigenin is available and it "should" be able to pass the blood brain barrier.

Why autophagy youthens a body. Periodic fasting reduces senescent cell burden.

I was surprised to learn that we should probably not inhibit CD38 and consume NAD boosters (NAD or NR) at the same time. So, no more parsley if taking NAD or NR

It reminds me of my last 30 yrs listening to presentation from scientists at work or from experts demonstrating how they were going to cure cancer. Forward to 2023, cancer remains a mystery. The graphics and the experiments look interesting by i am not convinced of all these theories. Like in almost 99% of articles written in scientific magazines, more research is required meaning more money

Well, laboratories use fluoride and fluorines on their laboratory animals as the fastest way to cause cancer for their experiments….and you wonder why the biggest killer of children is cancer, when they ‘fortify’ the drinking water with this carcinogen??? Sodium fluoride is bad enough (it used to be sold publicly as a very effective rat poison) but they’re often using a form of fluoride that is the toxic waste scraped off the inside of chimneys used in pesticide manufacturing! I think it’s called something like hydrofluorosilic acid and requires hazmat suits it’s that nasty….thats what they’re poisoning us with in the drinking water! Everything you research reveals a hidden poison….including what they ‘fortify’ the food with as well!

Surprising indeed. It's by watching as many videos as we can on these subjects that we can find interesting details like that.

Apigenin, quercetin etc are all great compounds for roles such as CD38 inhibition, anti oxidant capacity and so on. However there is always a cost or caveat to a process in physiology, nothing is free, Apigenin and such flavanoids are potent endocrine disruptors. Also metal chelators. Metabolites will also require detoxification. Interfers with redox balance. CD38 is also needed for its role in the body. There is often a reason why something is found in small quantities in nature/food. Supplementing needs to be dosed correctly, timed correctly and for appropriate durations for a specific persons bioindividuality, via an intelligent protocol. Chronic supplementing particularly of high doses of powerful flavanoids without knowing the full range of effects you are having can result in paradoxical reactions, and negative feedback loops. This does not mean we should not try things but it is so easy to get it wrong

interesting. I was taking quercitin lipocel from Natural Factors + NR seems like I need to stop taking, because science is showing we need much more studies :/
