Rhodes was an unsung hero of the 1960s rock music. A pioneer of psychedelic rock and an innovator of power-pop, he made a lasting impact on the singer-songwriter movement of the 1970s and beyond.
When he tragically left us in July of this year, a devoted following of fans, friends and family have continued to carry on his legacy. This show will include artists who were influenced by his music. It will be a time for some fine musicians to celebrate one of the great pop geniuses of his time. It will be a time to say goodbye to Emitt Rhodes even as we welcome and embrace his ongoing legacy.

Fernando Perdomo ("Echoes in the Canyon), Rob Bonfiglio (The Beach Boys, Wilson Phillips), Rick Bagby (Summer of Love), Gary Stockdale (Emmy Nominated Musician), Nick Guzman (Wild Honey), Chad Watson (Charlie Rich, Janis Ian), Michael McCarty (Rivers), CoolHouse (Divine Rebel Music), Eric Greenberg (Lightfeet)

When the first ER album was released a radio spot aired along with it featuring “Fresh As A Daisy,” as well as ads for the album in Rolling Stone. Wish I could find them now. Until the album and artist were identified I presumed it was a new McCartney solo album-despite having been a huge Beatles fan since their first single entered the charts. That first album got airplay, making Emitt’s vanishing act puzzling. Still, his disappearance wasn’t all that noticeable in an age of one hit wonders. It was also a burgeoning time of fantastic music and musical change: solo Beatles, follow-ons to ’60s artists, arena rock, progressive rock, music video, punk, disco and more. There was plenty of other material to disappear beneath. It’s just unfortunate what the reason for ER’s disappearance was: greedy executives in the music industry taking advantage of a naive and generous young artist-people who didn’t realize or care that they were killing a goose that was laying golden eggs for them as well as himself. Clearly, the result was decades-long depression that Emitt would handle as only an optimist with the sunny disposition that Emitt had would. May he rest in peace.

Hi Terry. I knew your brother, Ken, as well as Michael McCarty from The Toads of Sleepy Hollow. I was the drummer/vocalist in a Redondo Beach band called The Royal Teens (later we changed our name to The Paper Fortress. I played a handful of gigs with Ken, and he also recorded some of my early music compositions. I have some of Ken’s originals such as “Please Give Reply” and “Nobody Seems To Care.” Beside what is posted on Reverb Nation, are there any more of Ken’s originals? Evan

The self titled Emitt Rhodes album was a virtual tribute to The Beatles. Emitt was capable of doing other style, too.

i thought everyone decided on his page the last line was "hooray the Lord's been good to his children' or am i wrong? "helping children" actually fits what I hear now that I think about it . really great observation/comparison with John Hurt obviously COOLHOUSE was best

first, those words belong to Fresh as a Daisy. I wanted to pay tribute to that song too as the end of Face on the Floor. But I revised the words slightly because I felt they fit better.
