@@ChefShwastykitchen Thanks for that. The whole point of the story seemed to be Death offering a new set of rules to let a suicide find his way out - you are allowed to cry, reach out and talk to friends, let everyone know what you're about to do. Thank you! This one's fam-creepy-ooga-booga-TASTIC! Yay! Happy nightmare time! Yeah..I'm weird like that. I'd rather have spooky dreams than anxious dreams. At least the former is entertaining. The latter is usually just frustrating...and confusing...and exasperating, and after one of those sick puppies, I awaken a cranky, tense beast of a woman. Not a good thing for the safety of others I may encounter that day.

@ginamilligan9385 3 года назад
@@janedoex1398 Awww...sorry, sugar! I usually get those too, but with intense stories like these (as opposed to the true Reddit stories of many narrators' focus), I find that elements will work into my dreams & divert my attention from the anxious-making stuff. Leads to absolutely B-I-Z-A-R-R-E (yes, it needs the hyphens, for the sake of emphasis) dreams! I mean, Sigmund Froyd wouldn't be able to explain that stuff, & he had opinions about everything! Have you tried making a playlist of spooky stories & listening while you sleep? Put on headphones/earbuds & let it play all night long. Alot of the people who subscribe to narration channels do this. It doesn't always change your dreams, but it's an absolute life-saver when it comes to those toss & turn, waking every 5 minutes, mental tension nights. Instead of waking up & having your brain launch into anxiety mode about whatever's stressing you out, you can immediately get into whatever story's playing & stop the cycle. I've been doing this for years now & usually get enough sleep - without sleep aids. I used to average 2-4 hours of sleep per night & took a nightly cocktail of Ambien, Doxepin (Sinequan), melatonin, valerian & OTC sleep aids (Benadryl & Unisom/Doxalymine Succinate). Yeah...I was poisoning myself just to buy an hour or two of sleep. Now? A little liquid valerian (sometimes) & a spooky playlist & I'm good to go! The stories help me focus during household tasks, too. These are great for the ADD/OCD brain!

Sort of, yes. This is the reply I wrote to someone else: Death, as middle management, was instructed to enforce a new policy in which people would know about their deaths and tell them they cannot escape it. The ending is left (I assume, even though I wrote the damn thing) as nebulous, as either: 1. The outcome was supposed to change, as the protagonist wasn't supposed to accept their fate and try to change it. 2. The protagonist was supposed to spend their last day enjoying life, rather than throwing it away. 3. The protagonist was always going to kill themself, and this was supposed to be a catalyst of change that didn't work. Honestly, I don't know what the right ending is. I have nightmares like these all the time and then pen them out later. I don't know what the message was, but I hope it was a catalyst for good for someone. (author)

I thought that Death would just appear at the end and be like “JK, I’m lying, you should’ve lived 40 more years.” It’s sad to think that knowing you’re going to die makes dying easier to handle. I wonder if that is actually why he died the next day. Death told him about his “death” so he caused the death that Death had foretold. It’s like time travel. The only reason the guy died is because he thought he would die. So, he killed himself, causing Death to tell him about his death a day early.

Death is overrated, We all go don't matter if it's today or in 50 years we all gotta go it can't be avoided, we didn't fear being born, we don't remember it and we didn't know we were being born Death is the same thing, It's scary if we die a brutal death and those last few minutes wondering what's next but once it's over it's over, hopefully there is a Heaven and Hell most of my studies show reincarnation to be the main world wide belief over all but I hope not, I don't wanna come back to this Hell hole again, I want Heaven or Hell but not Earth again!

Hmmm.... idk.... I think 24hr might be nice. You cld spend quality time with loved ones, make amends where needed, enjoy the sunset & sunrise. I mean one should do those things anyway. I try to make sure I’m present when doing things with friends & family. No phones while we eat meals, I don’t worry about pics & videos when at concerts, family functions, whatever. Of course, I may take a cpl/few pics but no retakes or maybe 1 or 2 10-15 second videos. Also when separating from a loved one or going to bed if that person and I are mad, frustrated, whatever I ALWAYS close with I LOVE YOU just in case. I wld never want my last words to be mean or hateful with someone i love. Do i always appreciate everything good- NOPE! Do i always put loved ones before outside events like work- NOPE! Do i wallow in sadness, anger, misery, etc- NOPE! Do i live with regret- NOPE! Do i try my best to enjoy & appreciate everyday, everything good, and everyone in my life- YEP

@@arosepetal2000 Death, as middle management, was instructed to enforce a new policy in which people would know about their deaths and tell them they cannot escape it. (author)

I don't understand why he was upset at the end? Was the guy tryna cheat the death day by doing it earlier and that's why he's mad? I mean he ended up dying anyway so

The look of disappointment wasn't for the main character, it was for the new system. Our boy was already going to go way earlier than anyone would consider reasonable, but then he's told it's going to happen, and spends the rest of the time he had consumed by the notion.

I really didn’t get this one. Felt like a waste of an ending. We already knew it wasn’t going to change.

@PoldaranOfDalaran 3 года назад
@@jamiesmith5728 That's how I interpreted it. The whole point of the change was to give people time to accept their fate, and the narrator, rather than accepting it and coming to peace with his death, decided to rage in the only way left to him by dying early. And Death in the story was upset with his bosses because he knew that giving people forewarning wasn't going to do a damn thing to help them be at peace before they go.

@@ChefShwastykitchen I was thinking number 2. I considered 1 and 3 but they just seemed overly complicated or cruel jokes. But if the answer is 2, then who is death directing his last words to? His superiors who made the change or the MC? And if it is towards the MC, it kinda gives off the vibe that it was a cruel joke? Idk maybe it’s just me. Have you tried looking up the meaning to those dreams? I used to have a reoccurring nightmare about a shark the could travel on land and said shark would chase me. I looked it up and found out sharks symbolize greed. At the time I was working for a particularly greedy manager who used to understaff us to save money, causing a lot of stress. Needless to say after I quit I didn’t have the dreams anymore.
