What I'm just concerned about is QC issues from Dell.

Great deep dive into the engineering that go into these products and all the design choices going into them. Especially useful to show that laptops are not randomly put together by manufacturers for the sake of annoying customers as much as possible... And Daniel is impeccable as usual, knowing is stuff very well

EXCELLENT Interview

It's one of the most amazing laptop on x86 side for sure but according to Geekerwan (极客湾)'s latest laptop "close-to-real-life" battery test (unfortunately the video is in Mandarin only now), its range was appalling. They did address it's mostly 12th gen. Intel CPU's fault but they also said this situation could be improved if the OEM adopted battery management strategy similar to ones on smartphone. I hope OEMs including Microsoft Surface can study that solution seriously instead of being adducted by chip makers (which they might face the identical situation when it comes to Win on Arm).

I am wondering when the big computer manufacturers will adopt something more repairable like the Framework laptop, light and user configurable and repairable.

I just want a QHD display option for the XPS 13. FHD is too little now, and 4K is just overkill for the size. Please Dell, give us an QHD option!

I own a 2 in 1 xps 13 16gb touch screen 2017 model. Since then I had to replace swollen battery 3 times. As of now the battery is again swollen. When that happens the track pad goes wonky. I have to disable the track pad. Also the swollen battery causes the space bar to be not responsive. Dell no longer stock spares for the battery and directs me to buy from OEM online stores nor extending warranty for this model. I have to resort to using a wireless keyboard and mouse only to do any productive work. My question to Dell would be does this latest model resolve this swollen battery problem every 2 years of use either with a new battery tehnology or otherwise, before I decide to upgrade to this model with 32gb?

This is a backwards move from Dell. That keyboard is atrocious, it was tried on the Surface Pro and Surface 3, Microsoft moved away from it. Now they want to do a touch sensitive keyboard, Apple moved away from it because it's hard to type on something you can't feel. Dumb move Dell.
