If you like this check out the ogs that I'm sure Sean will agree that status to them : Grimm life collective... Same great style and utter pro quality horror/sci fi/cult content...interviews, locations , true crime locations, live film nights with fans on RU-vid, everything in between u can think of...tom savini had them at his house and u should see his collection of film props and statues ,it's like a museum, wall to wall with original film prop figures from alien to American werewolf .his collection must be worth millions..he used to go do SFx and make up for a film and they'd say how much, he would say ah just let me have the alien bust used in blah blah scene and they invariably would which is how he got masses, Friday 13th stuff and oh heck, go watch it.😂😂😂 Grimm's life...brilliant...Ive only come to this channel literally tonight so I'm a Sean virgin...looks good tho...esp if he came over from USA to do some locale filming.. tip for you Sean , get Ur English pal to ring the flat 100 owners, they more likely to allow a brit in for a look around..

Hi Sean. Little anecdote for you. Once, going on about twenty years or so ago, I once met the actor John Savident (one of "The Writers" friends at the dinner party) in an electrical shop. I was stood right next to him. I looked to my left, and there he was. I had a brief chat with him, not about "A Clockwork Orange" but a role he played in an episode of a classic UK TV series called; "Man In A Suitcase" from the 1960's. Nice guy. Still with us.

I grew up in Thamesmead in the early 80's where much of A Clockwork Orange was filmed. By then it had become a very run down place full of heroin and gangs, pretty much like the movie. This is one of the best "Clockwork locations" videos ever. You really go into great detail here. Many of these type of videos just have the filmmakers show up at the location and make bland, nondescript remarks. It's also cool that most of the locations in the film are, for the most part, still around. The film only had a few scenes that were shot in a studio.

it sucks that what is leftover is surrounded by eclectic architect that doesn't match. in those days everything matched. seems London today is full of more contemporary structures that don't mix well with the different historical periods that separated their looks from one another. it's just push and build anything. it seems more dystopian in real world than the movie set created for the art this film was. its sad that those in London no longer appreciate or honor their historical society and that its a matter of building as much real estate as they can. in the old days structures had to be approved to compliment other structures around them. its just too much randomness. plus lots of graffiti which existed back then but nothing on the level you see today.

That was incredible. I think the only places not mentioned were Radlett Aerodrome Hangars, where the Victorian rape fantasy was filmed and the hospital scene shot at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, in Essex. I was a student at Brunel University 1981-84. Lived in Chepstow H for my first year. Sat through many of my Elec Eng lectures in lecture hall 302 (aka E) where Alex undergoes his therapy. The decor and furniture back then was still exactly like in the film. Even the blue bedding in his hospital room was our standard issue blankets! Because Clockwork Orange was pulled from public release the first time I got to see the movie was when the uni film club screened it in the Student Union hall, just on a singe projector (Pauses every 20 minutes or so to change reels !). Great movie, as are all Kubrick's works.

Back in 2018 I was at the funeral of Andros Epaminondas. Andros was a friend of Stanley and a great character. One of the Clockwork crew struck up a conversation with me in which he informed me that his camo jacket was requisitioned by Stanley and worn by Billy Boy. In 1999 I was handed the Answer Print of ACO and used it to reproduce many sets of the original publicity stills. Losing Stanley was a big shock. He was the most gregarious recluse I ever knew.

Infact the day we went to the University there was an open day there so we just blended in with the other students and started filming, we didn't ask for permission either haha we were however questioned when we were filming the scene when Alex is getting his treatment with his eyes. The area of flat block( marina) isn't a great area of unfortunately( thamesnead South) and if you watch our video it looks pretty much like it did back in the movie but now it's all gone as we can see. @@malfuncsean To be honest, given Kubrick's shooting and lighting style on the movie, I'd be surprised whether there was much set-dressing beyond that which was essential to the plot (ie the sculpture at the dancer's house, for example). It's probably just personal preference, but I'd be doing my best to keep it fairly sparsely furnished, I think the style of home it is suits that.

Speaking of weird old movies, have you ever seen the 1967 low budget horror/sci-fi cult classic The Equinox…….A Journey Into the Supernatural? It was directed by Dennis Muren, who later went on to win Best Visual Effects Academy Awards for Jurassic Park, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, The Abyss, Indians Jones and the Temple of Doom, etc. It starred Frank Bonner (later on WKRP In Cincinnati) and Robin Snider who later became one of Stevie Nicks best friends. Apparently it was mostly filmed in Tujunga Canyon and Griffith Park, so it might be easy for you to do an HHG episode on.

But because it was so close to Elstree Studios, it was always popping up on TV. Episodes of the Saint were shot there, and just about anything from ABC. It had a big part in the Hammer Horror The Devil Rides Out. It was also popular with various Muppets! They did good roast beef.

They were absolutely notorious aristocratic deviants who were in to all kinds of weird stuff right back to the 18th Century. (Their organisation was called the "Hell Fire Club", so you figure it out for yourself!) I wonder if that's why Kubrick chose the location! He might have known about the stories and scandals because he settled not that far from there in the neighbouring county.

They did about 8-10 different remixes of the hits normally so i had the black Clockwork cover. The German Mix. The Hong Kong Mix and later in the 21st century another 4-5 mixes. I love that scene at the milk bar where the german woman starts to sing Beethoven from the glorious 9th and the dumb fat one makes fun of it and Alex just smashes him on the leg. While it would be cool to see that bar, I thought even at the time it was very ugly and very 60's looking with all the massive amounts of wood. It looked to me like they were trying to copy a western bar type thing in the U.S. Sad that the lake scene now looks so decrepit and run down. I doubt it will last

Still watching this vid.. And so far at almost an hour in i will say that every view you have on where the things was filmed i 100% agree on. The road where the police Land Rover comes from can only be your way.. It comes drom the left from far away, it cant come from the other side as there's no where to go that way. So you're spot on with all your detective work.. Its a fave film of mine too, but if ive seen it 20 times or 30 i feel you can ad a zero to yours im sure.. Great stuff.. Adam Ant was also a big fan of this film as well as many other great movies. He mentions the Durango 95 in one of his songs. Cant. Remember which but i know it's a track from Vive Le Rock.. He sings.. My Durango Supercar... 😊

Antony Burgess, who wrote the novel Clockwork orange Was born in the same area as myself, Harpurhey in Manchester. The school I attended from age 5 to aged 9 years old was called Burgess- Becker, named in honour of Anthony Burgess, The Becker in the name was a German born chemist who was part of a group of scientists that contributed to the Levenstein Process that invented mustard Gas in a nearby factory.

Very nice ! I have an idea for a next vidéo. I would love to see the filming location of "Blow up", that movie from 1966. I love that movie. Thanks for all your videos 👍
