Canada's winter weather is not the same as Europe's. We have harsh winters, which at times include freezing rain. How are a glass dome and glass awnings going to survive a freezing rain situation? As I envision broken glass everywhere due to the weight of the ice build-up. Also, it is still unclear if any part of this new Ontario Place will have age and health restrictions, as the Therme Spa Village in both Markham and Whitby do not include children, and although these locations are specifically spas, Ontario Place is apparently also going to have a spa, which I suspect will not allow children as well. More transparency about the spa needs to be disclosed to the public.
Though they have similar names, they aren't related. The main area of Therme at Ontario Place is a water park for families, so yes children will be allowed.
@@n.b.3521 For the water park, perhaps, but not the spa which is what Doug Ford is pushing for. I guess we'll find out in about 7-10 years after it's built, just how expensive it will be and which part will include families and which part will be for adults only.
Sad to see this, from the original purpose. Why not take this plan and put it the port lands, or has Doug Ford got his own plan for that too? Why does he shove everything down Ontarian’s throats without listening to people.
I think it's awesome. I think the naysayers are simply unfamiliar with the idea of a family-oriented community baths (more common in Europe & Asia) and want to keep the local park that Ontario Place has effectively become.
