Nice tier list, but, not surprised you can’t even remember the name of Mr. John Ace Lawyerman, given all the benadryl you’ve taken

you can always tell if a tierlist is trustworthy depending on if DGS2-3 is near the top. great list

Great Ace Attorney is very good but it’s hard for me to put it above the original games. I admit that it’s technically richer and more engaging, and the music is incredible of course. But I have a special place in my heart for the humorous, sharp writing and unforgettable characters of the original three games and investigations 2. I really appreciate the freshness of Great Ace Attorney, though. Having an entirely new cast of characters was an excellent idea, and I liked the creative jury mechanic. I think Ace Attorney 7 should follow suit and also try to do its own thing instead of being a third game in the Dual Destinies style. Dual Destines is my least favourite in the series, even being bested by the fan games in some ways.

What I love about DGS is that it never shoves any character connections into player's throats. And while there are definitely characters who are meant to be taken as alternate versions(Stronghart/Gant or Susato/Maya), it never really does in it the way that looks like this: "Hey, get it? Here are your favourite characters, that's them! Did you get that reference??", so DGS cast feels actually unique and fresh, also probably the best developed because it actually feels like a family

You know, I'm really hoping that when AA7 finaly realises that it that it ties up all loose ends from the previous games (for example the organisation that The Phantom worked for is IDed and taken down and The Rivales Family being given relevance). I imagine the plot for that game would probably be something a long the lines of Phoenix feeling inspired by Apollo for fixing Kura'in's legal system and becoming a politician to fix the legal system in the Japnifornia by eliminating the 3 day time limit and giving defence attorneys the same rights as prosecuters. The player would be playing as Athena with Trucy as the Aide as Phoenix has put them in charce of running the office while he's campaining to get into office. The cases would at 1st seem to nothing to do with each other, but by the time the final case comes around the player is able to slowly piece togetter a conspiracy involving the final boss wanting to put a stop to Phoenix's goals and also wanting to implement their own justice system on a (inter)national scale. As for prosecuters, we could just alternate between Klavier and Blackquil and maybe even throw Franzika and Edgeworth into the mix by the late-to-endgame. However after AA7 I believe that we do need a reboot. Apollo Justice Ace Attorney was ment to be a reboot, but than the execs forced Takumi to put Phoenix into the game and then with Dual Destinies it felt like the execs were breathing down Yamazaki's neck due to AJAA not being not being universaly liked and the didn't want DD to be another AJAA. No, this time the games in this reboot need to be totaly detached from Phoenix and the other playble characters being having it set in a completely new location with a whole new cast of characters. My pitch would be a someone becoming a lawyer, because they want to investgate the death of a family member and over the cource of the game(s) the protagonist slowly uncovers a web of curruption involving several political, judicial, corparate and gang figures with an extremely illusive and dangerous mastermind puppitering everyone including those not part of the main enemy faction from plain sight as well as some shadow factions trying to take down the main enemy faction, all though some of them don't have best intention at heart. Once the player has reached the final case they are tasked with solving the most mind boggling difficult to solve case yet as the stakes are both really high and really personal and those stakes keep on raising the further you progress ultimately resulting IDing the final boss and then needing to use your full knowlege of the game(s)'s events and the law to solve the how-dunnit, why-dunnit, where-dunnit, when-dunnit (and maybe even a who-dunnit-to) and how-catch-them involving not just this case, but also all other cases that the final boss was involved in.

My personal wish for AA7 is to have Athena as the main character. Yes, she got SOME attention in DD, but not enough to make her a shining character. I also think it would be cool to bring back some characters from the investigations games like Kay, Lang, Badd, Sebastian, and Courtney. I'd love it if Courtney were the presiding judge for all the cases in AA7. I'm not sure if this is just my opinion, but I feel like localizing AAI2 probably takes a lot of money and effort to do; a pretty big gamble on CapCom's part, considering the first game isn't that universally well received and not many know of the second game. And that's not even mentioning all the new chibi art and animations that were made for BOTH Investigations games. Yes, word of mouth will probably lead to pretty good sales of this collection, but I have a conspiracy theory that they localized this game so that they could reintroduce investigations exclusive characters back into the fandom so that they can bring some of them back for AA7. That's just my two cents though.

What this is telling me is that I still have a lot to learn about this franchise. I haven't seen every case fully. I'll talk about the ones I am familiar enough with. I like 5-2 more than you do, simply because it introduces Bobby Fulbright and Simon Blackquil. Filch and Lebelle are stupid, but not enough to drag the case down to F tier. I also can't put AAI-3 in F tier because it introduces Kay. I would rank AAI-2 and AAI-1 at good. I might rank 2-1 at F. Wellington is just too annoying for me. I'll say more on this later, I g2g.

Your opinions about the first 4 games (the ones I actually played, so I am only watching up to this point, but I am not sure if I will ever play those last two) is pretty much 1:1 to my opinions, except that you hate Larry, and 3-1 is one tier lower >:( Honestly, 1-5 is like THE peak Ace Attorney for me, I actually connected with Phoenix on his last trick with the rules of presenting evidence, and I felt so much joy because of it, as if both Phoenix and I were at our turning point. It was generally an amazing case with a lot of great characters and developments (f you Angel Star tho). It especially just helps with Edgeworth sudden disappearance in JFA 2-1 I like more than 1-1, but that fcking glove killed me, baseball is not a thing in my country, I'm not sure if anyone besides american even play it, how tf was I supposed to know that you wear them on the opposite hand 2-3 is overhated in my opinion, but honestly, I hated most of the characters cause they were mean to Phoenix >:( I heard this case in anime is actually pretty great 3-1 I think is the great introduction into what this game is going to be about. It's back to Phoenix and Mia. Phoenix also is pretty sweet in this case, and the moment he reacts to Mia having faith in him is also pretty sweet, given that he later learns that from her. 3-2 is also one of my favourite cases, I love both Ron and Luke, they are perfect. Godot is also like one of the best characters in this series 3-5 is the greatest ending the original trilogy could have had. It perfectly closes all of the arcs, and I also find it sweet how Phoenix was right about his feelings back in 3-1. That Dahlia was not the Dahlia he knew I also find it sweet that Phoenix, Miles AND Larry were involved in this case. Larry was just as much of a friend to these, and I wish there were more moments between these three (but I mean, Larry calling Miles is also very nice)... Also Franziska. I love that she is also here 4-1 is the greatest first case ever. I agree that Kristoph should have been there for one case longer, but 4-1 was really important for me to like this game, and I am sure it was intended so. Going into AJ I was afraid that they are going to ruin the ending of T&T, but what I got in the end was probably my most favourite Ace Attorney game. You do not expect Case 1 to give you such a ride, and it instantly pulls you into this dark atmosphere that AJ has. AND THE MUSIC. My god, Cross-Examination theme in this game is my favourite as well, it translates the atmosphere of this game so perfectly. And Apollo's special ability is the coolest thing ever 4-2 I also really like, one thing you forgot to mention is Ema! I was honestly crying when I saw her, I didn't expect them to actually remember her 4-3 I never knew was hated. I liked it a lot, and probably it's because I hate kids that I wasn't angry at them trying to accuse him :v I think this is also a case where there are a lot of interactions between Apollo and Klavier? They both are amazing, which is the one thing I am sad about, cause Klavier just doesn't do much in 4-4, and as far as I am aware he's just gone from AA5 and 6, which is another dumb thing and another reason why I don't want to play whatever they did afterwards 4-4 is... so peak. First of all, the whole jury court trick was the most fucking mastermind thing Phoenix ever did, he is at his peak throughout the whole game, AND THIS CASE, this case is just his masterpiece. And the fact that it comes back to Kristoph makes it thrice more satisfying. 4-4 also pretty much closes all of the arcs that this game introduced. Kristoph is also just one of the most terrifying and greatest villains in the series, along side Gant. There are honestly a lot of little details in this case that are amazing, and my only critique is honestly that Apollo doesn't do much investigation. Vera is also one of my most favourite defendants And I think AJ also ends on just as much of a great ending as T&T does, which is another reason why I fell in love with AJ, instead of hating it as I was afraid would happen. It is surprisingly a great "new generation trope" game. For me it is THE ending for the main series, and will probably stay this way

@@Cinnamowo For me, Apollo Justice is a mixed bag with more positives in the bag than negatives. I really like it but Phoenix ends up taking the spotlight from Apollo in his own game, which just isn't great. I think you should pick up the AJ:AA trilogy and play Dual Destinies & Spirit of Justice. Dual Destinies is not my favorite and near the bottom, but it does a lot of cool stuff and the story telling in the last few cases is really great. Spirit Of Justice is definitely an improvement and there are definitely some things that frustrate me in that game, but overall it's a great addition to the series. You should give both of them a shot at least.

@@Cinnamowo you should also play the Investigations games. The first one is....well...my least favorite in the franchise, but its last two cases are pretty good. @@Cinnamowo I have a feeling that in 2025, they'll announce AA7. Idk if I'm just coping hard right now, but I feel like they wanted to have every game in the franchise on modern systems (except for PWvsPL, but I feel like that's up to Level 5 to decide.) so that they can reintroduce the fandom to everything; especially characters and stories from Investigations 2, considering that game has been unlocalized for over a decade I believe. There was a fan translation of course, but I imagine the average fan in the fandom doesn't know about it.

A few comparisons to my own tier list (For reference, I have 6 tiers in mine from S to F rank). Every case in your top tier, except for DGS2-5, is in my top tier. I also have 3-4, 4-1, 5-DLC, 6-3 and AAI2-1 in there. DGS2-5 I put into C tier, because personally while I agree the highlight of the case was Mikotoba and Sholmes, I didn't find Stronghart compelling as a villain - seemed like a discount Damon Gant (and I do agree he was the best villain, but still this was pretty much a carbon copy, even the Professor case itself resembles SL-9). I was spoiled on the Jigoku twist, but I was also spoiled on every DGS2 villain and found them all compelling, not the case with Jigoku. (The fact that his name means "hell" is pretty badass though). 5-2 is not in my F tier, but in my second-to-bottom tier, D tier. I agree it's mostly boring but I thought the amazing nine tails twist was clever. Wish the Yo-kai had been more relevant considering one of my favourite game series is Yo-kai Watch. AAI1-3 sits in my B tier, love the badgers and the gatewater land area. It's such a colourful place and there's lots of variety. In my F tier, I have 6-DLC and DGS-2, both of which you ranked pretty high. I found 6-DLC to be such a boring mystery, everything was obvious but you couldn't point it out for ages. Larry wasn't particularly funny here, and I like him a lot in other cases. DGS-2 I found to have the same issues - everything seems obvious, and the ultimate conclusion that this was an accident seemed so contrived - at least at the time. I put AAI1-1 and 2 in B tier, since the first case has Portsman who has pretty funny animations, is very easy to get through and doesn't overstay its welcome, and is clever in setting up the Yatagarasu mystery, giving this case some replay value since you know it was actually Badd who broke into Edgeworth's office and held him at gunpoint. Very clever how Portsman uses this to establish an alibi. Similarly, I liked the mystery of the 2nd case, and the fact the culprit wasn't immidiately obvious to me was a plus (I suspected Lablanc for a good while). 3-1 I put in my A tier because of the intrigue it creates. For the first time, the one you play as, Mia, knows more than you as she is facing Dahlia for the second time. Grossberg's hemmoroids were funny and he even references the Harlem Shake before the Filthy Frank video even came out and revitalised it. It's also got a clever contradiction with you needing to present the victim's profile to show how Dahlia got poison 8 months earlier, and as well as this in a moment many players could miss, if you read the file you'll see the name of the victim of the poisoning was Diego Armando, and the last syllable of each name gives you Godo (aka Godot). Very clever foreshadowing. I already said in the comments of your post that I rank 2-3 quite high, it's in my A tier so I actually rank it above 2-2 (which is in my B tier). I can't remember where, but I heard somewhere that what Takumi was going for with JFA in particular was to create mixed bag, morally grey characters. That's why you have culprits like Acro, as well as Mimi Miney, who you can sympathise with, your defendant in this case Max bonked someone over the head with a glass bottle - yet it's "justice for all" so you can't just abandon him, Ben, who's actions I won't defend (although age of consent in Japan, as well as here in the UK, is 16, explaining why the characters were most concerned about Trilo), Regina, who causes Acro to go crazy by visiting him every day with a smile and no realisation of what actually happened to him and Bat, and the Ringmaster who was a good man, but not really a good father considering he sheltered his daughter to that extent. I ranked 5-3 in my C tier, so you think of it much more highly than me. My main point of contention is that they (ostencibly) set up a debate and then just hammer home that Means' creed is completely wrong and no reasonable person would agree with it. Even though, in the last game, Phoenix either forged evidence, or allowed Apollo to use it after Trucy did, to get himself acquitted and get Kristoph arrested, and set up the Jurist system with the sole purpose of revenge on Kristoph and clearing his name in regards to the forgery. The fact this never even gets hinted at let alone brought up is a huge let down, especially so now it is part of the "Apollo Justice trilogy". It just makes AJ and DD feel so disconnected when you can't reference a single thing about AJ aside from the fact Phoenix looked like a hobo. This comes into my problems with DD as a whole. I put 5-1 and 5-4 in C tier as well, and 5-5 in the tier above it, B tier. Only reason 5-DLC is so high is because it wasn't connected to the main story, which I found lacklustre, and I felt it told a very compelling story while having a very compelling mystery and interesting characters. Also, in a game filled with obvious villains, Marlon Rimes is the one who caught me completely off guard. Love his pirate transformation. I'll talk a bit more about 5-5 which is in almost perfect for you, but B tier for me. I like a lot of this case, the concept of the robots, having to get Blackquill on the stand, the harrowing reveal of the scene he saw 7 years ago... Then, when the phantom is revealed (another thing I was spoiled on prior to playing), we get this insane moment where you think it's Solomon Starbuck, only then it's revealed he wears multiple masks. It's wacky but funny. Then you have to deal with his emotions, as well as his tell, and he uses spy gadgets to stop you. My problems are similar to yours - he's just not interesting now we know he isn't actually Bobby Fulbright. Sure, it recontextualises the other cases knowing that this guy was the Phantom who killed Athena's mother the whole time, but we know nothing about him. Hemlock is much better imo, and I was spoiled on his true identity from the get-go so there's no bias there. We find out about his motives, his crimes, his methods... Whereas the Phantom, all we know is he works for some mysterious organisation who can hire hitmen. It almost sorta works when he gets shot in the end, but... he survives? He shouldn't have, since I thought what they were going for is leaving things a mystery, but now all the police have to do is interrogate him. And this mysterious organisation is surely not gonna be relevant now, considering new AA games never talk about things from past games. I have seen the phantom be used interestingly in a fancase, The Dragon's Turnabout, which is actually another DWaM case. Well worth a playthrough imo.

6-5 is another case I didn't rank too high unlike you, only B tier like 5-5. I have the same problem as you, with Nahyuta as the worst prosecutor, basically being a discount Edgeworth. I would have loved him a lot more if he really was just a spineless bastard who was loyal to Ga'ran. Speaking of Ga'ran, she was pretty threatening as a villain, but ultimately in my eyes just a discount Morgan Fey. A lot of these final villains seemingly base themselves on past villains rather than being original, which I don't like. It was a missed opportunity not to have Amara be the true culprit honestly. I also don't like how it fails to criticise the concept of monarchy, despite showing throughout the game the negatives of monarchy. The revolutionaries just sort of capitulate to Amara and Rayfa, seemingly just because they are Dhurke's family, and the monarchy is maintained. It's not like Ace Attorney is averse to social and political commentary, it's one of the things 1-5 in particular does well. Would have liked to see the revolutionaries form a democratic government after Ga'ran was ousted, but oh well. I actually vastly prefer the first half of this case to the second. The civil trial was a very unique concept, it soon devolves into a murder trial but that's just par for the course at this point. Paul Atishon was a fun villain, the fact he walks around in a campaigning box (dunno what else to call it), acts like being Mayor of Kurain is basically being President of the US, and just straight-up turns and walks away from the witness stand when things aren't going his way is hilarious. I also particularly remember the section exploring the caves as Apollo with Dhurke. Even though it all comes last minute, becuase they shove 90% of the overarching story into the final case (and 0% into case 4, oddly enough), you do really get to know Dhurke for the first half of this case. Helicopter kid is cool too. Best thing about the second half was probably Rayfa's character development, and we get to see a different side to Inga than we did in real life when you see he kept a birthday card from his daughter (even though she was adopted) in his secret safe, and given that Rayfa struggles to summon him in the seance due to the trauma, it's inferred he had a different persona around her, and he was a good parent unlike Ga'ran. Inga's plan is also interesting to theorise about - he has prosopagnosia, and as we know, you can't channel a spirit without knowing someone's face. So if he did have the Holy Mother channelled by Maya as planned, giving the powers to himself would be useless. Thus, he was actually planning to give them to Rayfa, then when he stages the coup against Ga'ran, put her in charge. He may have actually not liked the legal system, but put on an act knowing Ga'ran would have him beheaded if he disobeyed - and this can be inferred by the fact he still has execution orders from years ago in his room. So he actually might only do them when others are watching and he needs to put on the act or intimidate people (as he was doing when he met Phoenix). None of this is explicitly said which is a bit disappointing, but actually it might be better this way since only people paying close attention would notice all this. I didn't notice it all myself, I've pieced this together from bits and pieces of info I've seen being discussed about him. I put DGS-5 lower than you (B tier again), but I do like it, it's just I'm disappointed in how the hound of the baskervilles was brought up but was only marginally relevant here. Even the sequel doesn't fix that issue - we see his collar in the second case, then hear about him in the final case but it's not too relevant to the mystery in the end. Apart from that, most of these are in pretty similar positions, only a tier away at most. Overall, I would say 1-5 is my favourite case, and 6-DLC is my least (although DGS-2 is so close they might as well be joint).

@@ProsecutorZekrom I do see how you wouldn't find Stronghart compelling, but I find his plan and everything he pulled off to be impressive. About 5-3, you bring up great points, and in fact, I feel the exact the same. I can't believe I forgot about how I felt about it before. But here's something I wrote in a Reddit post about DD, concerning 5-3: "I still like this game, but...my god they did Phoenix so dirty. I understand that a lot of people really hated his portrayal in AJ, but completely retconning it and pretending like it didn't happen is just bad writing. There's HINTS of his mastermind/hobo characterization in 5-2, but that's not enough to make up for how they could have explored that side of him more. I mean, one of these cases DIRECTLY deals with the dark age of the law, forgery of evidence, underhanded tactics, and considering Phoenix did forge evidence and use shady methods in AJ, if there WAS EVER A TIME TO INTERNALLY DISECT PHOENIX'S CHARACTER, NOW WAS THE TIME, WHY DID THEY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WITH HIM?!"

@@ProsecutorZekrom I also find issue with how rookie-like Phoenix feels in DD and SOJ, but especially DD. Why is he getting cornered and flustered every few minutes and every point made by the prosecution? It makes no sense. Yes, he has been out of the courtroom for closer to a decade than not, but come on! This man has solved much harder cases than these! I honestly wish they had made new 3D models for older Phoenix. Give him the Gregory Edgeworth treatment, give him a smiling sprite when he gets contradicted, not a nervous sprite, damn it! New 3D models are such a small change, but they really would have made Phoenix more bearable to play as.

@@justnoahherehello I forgot to mention something about Stronghart as well. This is something I heard from someone else but I fully agree. We, the player, never get the satisfaction of taking Stronghart down. Stronghart explains his actions, and the entire audience seems to agree with him and chants his name. Ryunosuke cannot dissuade them. Instead, somehow Sholmes appears as a hologram and says that the Queen had been watching the trial as a hologram the whole time. Numerous issues with this. First, it's immidiately immersion breaking. I could barely just about excuse the teddy walkie talkies that seem to have unlimited range, at least those could plausibly be kept under wraps if Ryunosuke never told anyone. But we have revolutionary tech revealed in the courtroom to the highest levels of government, and they don't try to take advantage of it. This is impossible machinery now, let alone with victorian era equipment. Even HG Wells's time machine had some bulk to it, the machines Iris comes up with would have to have microchips surely. Society should logically have progressed so much further by present day, but they still use dumbphones and vhs tapes in 2016 so it's actually less technologically advanced. The second issue is that it presents the trial as a fight between an underdog, a foreign student, and the head of the justice system of the most powerful country on Earth. But when the Queen gets involved, suddenly we're left without any payoff to that. Deus ex Victoria just solves all problems, instead of working to take down an authority figure, you just get someone higher up to sort it out. So undermines the underdog narrative. Compare that to 1-5. First, Phoenix tries to expose the truth behind SL-9 only to backfire when he realises it was Ema. Then, he tries to expose what Gant did to cover this up and blackmail Lana, in order to pin him for the murder of Goodman. Gant completely blindsinds Phoenix, almost leading him into a trap until he realises there is no evidence against Gant. Finally, as Gant attempts to close the book on the case, Phoenix manages to trick him using his own knowledge of the law, the law he tried to control and bend to his will. It's an amazingly satisfying finish and I'm sure you agree. I love hobo Phoenix, but apparently the fandom, especially in Japan, was very divided. The new director decided to play it safe and not acknowledge Phoenix's character development... unfortunately for those of us who really liked AJ. The only time I can excuse Phoenix sweating like that is when his life is on the line in Khura'in, as well as when Maya's is in the civil trial. The idea to give him a sprite similar to Gregory Edgeworth's is genius honestly. Hell, maybe even have Edgeworth say that Phoenix reminds him of his father as a neat little reference to this.

@@ProsecutorZekrom I definitely see where you're coming from, but I disagree. At that point in the case, Stronghart is actually impossible to take down. So what wins the day? Not the Queen, though it does seem that way. I see it as the audience, Sholmes, The Queen, Kazuma, and Ryunosuke all working together to uncover the truth and bring Stronghart down. I know it's not possible to know what would've happened if Sholmes hadn't recorded everything in the courtroom, but I have a feeling that Stronghart might've been able to get away if the audience of the courtroom, those in the judiciary, didn't beg for the trial to continue. Now to Ryunosuke and Kazuma. If both of them weren't as relentless as they are during that trial, the truth would for sure have been buried and Ryu would have been fucked. If Ryunosuke didn't catch Stronghart in his lie about Genshin's will, the truth would have been buried and Ryu would be fucked. If the audience didn't hound for the trial to continue, Ryu would be fucked. Everyone worked together in the end to put Stronghart away. I am biased in my love for this case and it's ending though, so perhaps my defenses aren't sufficient, but I do believe this ending is amazing.

Wow interesting tier There is a lot I would change if I had to make my own tier(there is also bias here and there so dont get mad people) So first of all,4-4 is garbage imo Kristoph is underutulized, disbarrment makes no sense, apollo is nothing character and phoenix setting up the mason system is a plothole cause you know he got disbarred so he shouldnt have influence on law and much more 5-5 is disappointing cause of athena being underutulized, phantom being a horrible villain and Apollo clay complex being too flat 2-2 is mid for me cause franziska is very annoying in JFA(I would even argue more annoying than nahyuta) there is some problems with logic here and there, investigation segment is soo long and boring, morgan is underwhelming and culprit true motive is a bit illogical DSG-2 -another bad case - so boring, nothing left to say cause it is nothing case(also im not a fan of killing your mentor off again- it is a nitpick) 5-3 is very bad dont like the cliche friendship dilemna-it was predictable, boring and NOT FUN Also every single character is ONE DIMENSIONAL The case drag on and on Klavier being back was insulting He has no role in this case You could remove him and it would be the same He his bigger on the cover of DD(bigger than edgeworth) implying he has a bigger role but nope he is just useless Yes he analyzed the tape but ANYONE could have done that Also the VA ruined klavier completely(VA is not bad its just does not fit) He is pathetic excuse of a fan service Now the biggest disaster of this case is the culprit-Aristotle Means Not only is he obvious, but also horribly written. And the " the end justifies the means" was just annoying. Also the case should not be saying that" the end justifies the means" is bad and courts are good. I get it justice must be just but after AJ we know that sometimes "the end justifies the means" was necessary. And coustine court should not be praised like she is. Her motto is the "truth is only revealed through proper means" which again contradict AJ on how flawed the law is. Yes I know the non spoiler rule exist but at least dont say means motto is 100% evil and courte motto is 100% good So briefly - this case has a very bad writing that it actually pissed me off 4-1 is bad Kristoph is really obvious culprit His twist is only for shock value Logic on why he is accused does not make sense(calling victim bald) since he could have said that he saw his head after they greeted each other before the murder Also when apollo and phoenix accused Kristoph of lying about seeing the murder scene through the small window (after revealing the secret tunnel), Kristoph could have easily countered that argument by stating that he saw the scene AFTER the actual murder, set up the scene and escaped through the tunnel. Moreover, there's not an iota of conclusive evidence indicating his presence inside the room. I don't know why he didn't argue right there but I guess we just have to accept this poor quality of writing The inconsistency in Phoenix Wright's character, switching between his original persona and his "hobo" persona feels like a deliberate ploy by the writers to evoke nostalgia Furthermore, Phoenix's involvement in forging evidence completely contradicted his established character from the original trilogy It also frustrated me that immediately after T&T he lost the badge(I dont give a crap about the 7 years gap-that is a pure example of "tell dont show" rule) I love when the game does complete 180° on character for no reason cause they didnt know what to do with him Kristoph being the culprit is a nice idea but it would be better if they explored his character and not immediately go with the twist later This case barely introduces Apollo as a character as Phoenix steals the spotlight where he could have had development like accusing his own mentor This case is overrated imo Anything else I would put almost the same so I wont say anything But anyway great tier I hope you will do more in the future

I completely agree about Aristotle Means. Although I enjoy aspects of Turnabout Academy, Means is far too obvious of a villain when I think the writers wanted there to be more of a mystery, and him endlessly repeating variations of “the end justifies the means” and smiling creepily doesn’t make him entertaining of interesting. I would’ve liked an ending where Hugh O’Conner ended up being the culprit because he followed Mean’s philosophy, killing Professor Courte to protect his secret of paying for his grades and avoid being expelled from school. But maybe Athena has to use “ends justify the means” tactics to catch Hugh, making her question what she should really do and in what circumstances is that philosophy acceptable. Means could still be a villain and get arrested for being Hugh’s accomplice (maybe Hugh payed him to be), but that way Means would be less of a predictable, oversimplified character.
