Lol. I am very happy to create you two separate routes to be tackled separately if you ever fancy it. Just say the word when you are ready. But do it when it’s dry first time. :)
@@StewartSanderson we'd always give a route a go! But I definitely think it's more a summer or warmer weather thing for us. Give it a few months and I'll tap you up for one of your lake routes for sure 🙂
Looks great fun as usual even more fun with the bits of snow and ice on the upper section. Was it all clear thru from High Cross and thru Grizedale i presume you got to the top of Parka that way ?. I keep intending to do that route but riding out from and Back to Windermere rather than start and finish at High cross, I've got a few mates coming up for the motorbike legal trails on sunday i'm hoping the Fox and Boulder alley are clear, I went thru Arnside Intake the other day on the E mtb and it's been sanitized even more with more stone carried on like Parka Moor removing the more technical sections. I'm sure we will meet up on the lakeland trails sooner or later. Have a great new year
Hi, I was over iron keel Xmas day and was disappointed that my favourite downhill is no longer techie. Oh well.. Ref my route up to Parkamoor, I take the first entry from Monk Coniston car park and directly up the way most folks come down. 2 trees down there, then when you come off the fire road and over to Parkamoor about 8 trees down. Had to pick our way through Forest 3 times to get back onto the path to Parkamoor. It’s a mess sadly mate. No idea why it’s like further in the Forest towards Foxes, sorry.
@@StewartSanderson right i know exactly where you go up from Lane head. Do you think we can get up Parka moor on the motorbikes as thats just a ride up and back down on trail bikes ? altho i suspect we will do whatever part of it we can do and turn back from theer as theres so little legal riding left now
@@kryten1021 not the way I went, no. Even getting 2x EMTB through was hard and required lifting over 2 and dragging under 1, the rest was push through Forest. You could easily go right up the way I came down and just session the area that way?
@@StewartSanderson thanks for the info it sounds like where we ride is all clear as we only ride up Parka moor and then have to ride back down (there are no legal trails for motorized traffic in that side of grizedale) we cant even get to the cottage in the clouds which is the holiday cottage. the section from parka moor main track to where you left Grizedale trees the open trail is not legal for motorized traffic either it's just a bridleway. So we ride up from Nibthwaite and usually turn round at the big viewpoint area overlooking the lake where the 4x4's turn as the climb/ descent is the bit thats fun or rather was before that got sanitized, i think we have 16 miles of legal byways and ORPA's in the national park hence the reason of going with the Emtb it's opening up so many great tracks for me the only problem i have is finding folk to ride with that are willing to go onto rougher trails altho i dont do the exposed goat track trails i really dont cope well with heights lol ...steep downhills no problem but skinny tracks alongside drops freak me out lol
