Having spent the week at Glentress and also enjoyed a day with Louise from Ridelines improving my skills, I decided to push a little harder on the trails that always scared me a little.
As luck would have it, the Tweedlove Pirelli ProAm race was on this weekend and when I looked at the ProAm amateur enduro I realised it took in almost all of the trails that are outside my comfort zone so we decided to ride them whilst they were taped up on practice day for added fun.
Stage 1: Thunderstruck.
Stage 2: Careless Whisper.
Stage 3: Mud and Roots
Stage 4: A black trio of Ewok Wall, Double X and Head over heels (used to be the bitch)
I also included a few other trails like some of Spooky and a new Black that I found called Ho Chi Min which is a lot of fun!
To finish the route, instead of doing stage 5 which would have took us into Peebles and back, we climbed back up and did my favourite, Falla Brea which when you end with the black section just has to be the best trail centre ending I have ever ridden. It is so satisfying to get that one right!
Apologies for some of the commentary in this video, I was still very much drilling the tuition I got from Louise to try and turn the knowledge into muscle memory.
