On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27, 2023, we invite you to experience a beautiful and inspiring conversation with Auschwitz survivor and eminent psychiatrist Dr. Anna Ornstein and TMF executive director Mark Ludwig. On this occasion-her 96h birthday-Anna talks about her childhood in Nazi-occupied Hungary, the murder of most of her family, her internment in Auschwitz with her mother, and her life after liberation. She reads from her memoir, “My Mother’s Eyes,” and-most importantly-offers a profound, urgent message for today. An unforgettable visit with an exceptional mind.

Anna, You may not remember me, But I remember you. I am Emily Kuriloff. I interviewed you for my book, "Contemporary Psychoanalysis and the Legacy of the Third Reich. " I was, and remain so moved, indeed I have been changed as a result your depth of understanding, matched by your depth of feeling, your passion for life, alongside you greif , and your love for this world. Very thoughtful, touching. Anna, You and your husband came to teach at my class on psychoanalytic Listening at Hebrew University. Afterwards, Paul came to rest at my apartment while you visited a friend. A marvelous memory you gave me. I don't know if I told you that my father was in Auschwitz (among other campus prior).
