Sen. Sanders asks us, at every turn, to stand with him. We can find ways to help watching his videos. We can let our own US Reps and Senators know we absolutely support his very fine work, and they should, as well. We can easily do this, and ask our friends and families to do the same.
What's really ironic Bernie policies help Warren buffets and the fair and honest wealthy at the same time. They help everyone. The campaign finance system really is our nation shooting itself in the foot.
You tell me Bernie .. I worked for the New York City Transit for 30 years . and Majority of us served in Ground Zero during 9/11 . But yet they was going to leave us with out any help from the transit . No healthcare . We had to strike to get health care for our retired workers . and now I am able to get myself healthcare even now that I am retired . I was hoping we can keep our healthcare plan for as long as we Live . Many of my friends are dead because they served in ground zero .
@@suntzu6122 : As much as I don't put it past any republican administration since nixon to murder our own so they could start wars for oil, and create a police state in the U.S., is seems that jet that big and flying at that speed could easily take out more than one building. Perhaps we should begin by figuring out who and why there was never an actual investigation.
Keep people ignorant and feed them what you want them to hear and you can get away with everything. When man starts to think for himself, only then can changes happen. Peace to all!
Right. I've given up on everybody. Anyone who disagrees with me is a lost cause. It's how I view it now. But to cheer on criminals just because they oppose someone you don't like based on whatever attribute is draining.
When you're registered as democrat, you get to vote in the primary elections to help choose the candidate. When you're independent, you don't. Yes I know bernie is not a democrat. I'm telling you why you might want to register as democrat. You can still vote for bernie if he ever manages to land in your options.
48 million registered Democrats As of October 2022, 48 million registered voters in these areas identified themselves as Democrats. At 38.78%, Democrats represented the single largest share of registered voters in the states and territories that allow voters to indicate partisan affiliation on their registration forms. 36.4 million registered as Republicans A total of 36.4 million registered voters identified themselves as Republicans, representing 29.42% of registered voters in these areas. 35.3 million registered as Independents. A total of 35.3 million registered voters identified themselves as independents or unaffiliated with any political party. This amounted to 28.55% of registered voters in these areas. ~4 million registered as other. Approximately 4 million registered voters identified themselves as members of other political parties. This amounted to 3.25% of registered voters in these areas. ------------- Boosting Electability Argument, Sanders Has Won Independent Voters in 13 Out of 16 Exit Polls So Far. www.commondreams.org/news/2020/03/09/boosting-electability-argument-sanders-has-won-independent-voters-13-out-16-exit ------------- Sanders Crushes Trump by 18 Points Among Independent Voters in New National General Election Poll. In Canada, we just got 10 paid sick days by law, enshrined in our Labour Code, for every federally regulated worker; railway workers included!!!!! It is what can happen when big money interests don't have MOST of the control of the PEOPLES political system...Our obvious problems not withstanding.
Bragger so what our Corporations and one percent leeches made billions while we suffered through a pandemic and the inflation that came after it combined with the attack on the Ukraine by Diaper Don's boyfriend. Kidding of course congratulations on not having a republican party holding you ransom.
In Switzerland we don't have specific sick days. If you're sick you get paid. If you stay sick for a longer time you will get paid at least 80% of your salary by insurance. Normally your employer will cover the 20%. Also we have 4 weeks of paid vacation, most of us have 5. And we're not broke and still a very rich country. Capitalism is still working well here but we just implemented a few socialist ideas.
Thank you so much, Bernie. I debate kindly with those who have been lied to about you. This isn't for you or me but for the people who are fighting against their own interests.
If there were more politicians with ethics, Bernie wouldn't have to run. He could take it easy. The human collective better take a stand in unison, or it's a wash, get up and pack it up, it's curtain calls, lights out. Lights out for human kind and hello AI and transhumanism. Cyborgs and human/machine hybrids. That's what they want. The ruling class and government leadership class are anti-human, they h@te humanity, they loathe the masses, the 99%.
@À Strand I will too, but he won't win. All the reasons he didn't win before, from political infrastructure like the DNC and corporate influence on politics, to public perception of him by many Americans like him being 'too old', a 'communist', are still talking points that will convince many people not to vote for him. We'll vote for him in the primary because it's the right thing to do, he'll lose, and then in the general we'll vote for whoever the rich and powerful have chosen as the Democratic candidate because as bad as they are, the Republican candidate will be worse. That was '16 and '20, it'll be '24 too.
You cannot expect different results until you change how thy blocked Bernie Sanders. Alaska just recently implemented Ranked-Choice Voting, we need that in all 50 States for the Presidency (meaning : let's take a closer look at the Electoral College and ask if that was intended to dilute the will of the people in the document written by wealthy landowners (did youknow that Constitutional Amendments need to be ratified by a 2/3 majority of Voters and that Americans refused to Ratify the Constitution without including the Bill of Rights?) The Internet is very important as well, the number of homes with only dial-up or no Internet at all is appalling (look up everything I've written here today) for the most powerful nation on Earth but that and the dominance of Conservative media in our nation's heartland explains why the Senate has so many Republicans (AND why those same Republicans blocked Build Back Better).
It's unethical but they don't care. Being a bought system nothing will be fair. Not equal. Fair. Greed won't stop and neither will their pride. No one ever wants to admit that they're wrong.
The next question is what can we do? My personal plan is to leave the country after I get my PhD, because what could I do? I still remember when my state's senator sold his citizens' right to net neutrality for only $250k of Comcast's money. And he is the "good" senator in our state. Aside from voting in every election, I'm not sure what can be done by the average citizen to combat corruption, especially for the US government where corruption is entirely legal if it's just called "lobbying" instead of bribing.
It does feel like we're too lost in sauce now... How do we "fight" greed when greed dictates how we're allowed to "fight" it? The pro-human side in me pushes me to believe that it starts with our everyday interactions of honesty and love with those we care for and strangers we meet to subtly reorient our priorities towards life over money but cynically... That just feels naive at times. We continuously convince ourselves that our own creations are our creators to worship under.
But, if we all chose to leave once we had what we needed/wanted, what would our country be😱?! We need to find answers to how to rid ourselves of the corruption in our political system and to hold the offenders accountable for all of the negative consequences of the incredible stress their lies and greed have caused those who entrusted them to be their advocates! However, before that, we need to begin with the senior republicans on the supreme court: thomas, roberts and alito-in particular, who were responsible for the citizens united decision; and especially thomas, for his additional role in robbing millions of American votes, via the 2000 Bush v. Gore decision! Then we can move to all of the other - more recent - corrupt members of the court (whose seats were blatantly and shamelessly stolen by the republican members of Congress)!!!
@@BoogEOogEWoogE I get that no term limits for Supreme Court was the best option when conceived but I'm increasingly in favor for some kind of limit now in the 21st century. Even if it's 10-20 years. Lifetime positions feel too corrupting in the eyes of history.
Your'e making the right decision to leave! I wish I had left when I was younger. It's too late for me. It's only going to get worse. Americans are profoundly ignorant, greedy, and selfish. Look at who and what they vote in favor of. Because of our laws that ensure generational wealth, 15% of Americans hold 85% of the wealth. Income inequality is only going to get worse. One of my sons and his family live in France. Life is so much better there. I've been to Canada a number of times and should have moved there years ago.
Props to Colbert for giving Bernie the floor to get all that out. Normally he's cut off after 10 seconds but when you give him a chance to make his point it actually can get through to people.
Fifty years from now, EVERYONE will wonder what the hell was wrong with us. We had two chances to elect this man president, and it didn't happen either time.
We wanted him, by far the most popular candidate. The Dems are helpless at everything, except, by God, they fought like cats to rig the primaries and keep him off the ballot. Instead they gave us "Nothing will change" Biden and Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris, ffs.
We need to stand with him, letting our own US Reps and Senators that we absolutely support Sen. Sanders and his fine work, and they should, as well. We can easily do this, and ask our friends and families to do the same.
Sadly the DNC has their own system of progression for their devoted royalty. Hillary made that loud and clear. Sanders will never be The One. But I do hope one of his acolytes from the Progressive Caucus will be.
Corporate greed is fundamentally anti-human and yet we're constantly socialized to accept it as the best way forward for our species. What a cruel angel's thesis...
Having grown up in Mexico, everyone knew that the government was hopelessly corrupt, so instead of bothering with politics, people instead focused on just trying to live and survive. I certainly hope that this doesn't become the case in America.
The Declaration of Independence warns of such a government - as it states we need a changing of the guard - America we need to look out for ourselves - our government is not going to keep from getting worse and worse
Don't let. Bernie fool you. He's the one that didn't like competitive tennis shoe market. To many to choose from! That's the way I like it. Whoever wants to be in any business can do so I don't care how many makers of shoes there are.
How did we go from 40 million who could not afford health care to 80 million who can't afford health care as we are (supposedly) expanding health care to everyone?
We let them jail Americans for being on land in building we pay n own as Americans. Why in who let that happen. Why 60yr elderly with over 30yrs plus still have a seat. why? We Americans let them Why? Why?why?we let them lie to us since 1963 we let them kill a icon a true American. i am 34, 35 this year. No left no right. We the people of America is 1 proud in great nation.
Same the world over. Here in UK we too have political scandals and cover ups : Hillsborough, Blood , Post Office ...... Who do you vote for? Who can you TRUST ?
Afraid if we all think as you, accept it because you don't believe it is going to help. Meaning that we accept it, great system 👍🤣 I hope people can say that they have had enough, not stop protest.
He’s right he is absolutely right. They are making record profit where we live there railroads not close but they’re there. In the 20 years we lived here. We have never heard such traffic. It is all day long all night long you hear trains constantly now they cannot say they’re not making money.
Politicians are lining their pockets, owning many mansions and beach properties and only work part time while the American people work full-time and some of us work 2 to 3 jobs to feed our children. Are you hungry Bernie Sanders because we are!
Corruption of governments will not be resolved by themselves...but the peoples of corrupted governments can...call them out..vote them out ..don't cooperated with Corruption .disown them..
To change the things that you do not like or approve of, start with holding yourself accountable for what you do and how you treat others and then hold others accountable for what they do. Respect yourself first and then others know how to Treat you.
Public Funding of Elections is allowed but the AEC the Australian Electoral Commission funds elections. Not private companies. Corporate Donations is called Corruption or Conflict of Interest. Any donation by the public has to be disclosed if above a certain amount.
Didn’t he endorsed the ones who were clearly corrupted and personally abused the system against him simply because they were on the same team. The guy aside from being a moron is a coward and a sellout
