Don't forget the crab that can put you to sleep. Clearly, that crab is also Miquella.

Funfact: Melina don't appear in the frenzied flame ending, if she burned herself at the giant's forge before you went to the three fingers.

One thing that is stil very strange is how Melina can know so much and even have the ability to teleport us to the Round table and Gideon Offnir to never drop a single word on her.

You only see Melina when you REST at a site of grace. Rest = Sleep.

I like that the three (Melina, Miquella, St Trina) would complete the tripartite being suggested in the prefix “tri” of “St Trina” (and otherwise reinforced by the 3 petaled lilies and other trinity references)

I wonder if Melina is similar to Millicent in the sense that she is the part of Miquella that he divested to enter the Land of Shadow. This would make her lack of memory and affinity with Torrent make more sense.

Imagine you open a random door in the dlc and you end up in the round table hold, like the one you've been in the whole game.

I like the theory, I can see Melina being St Trina as a way to be a go between for the black knives and Ranni. I also like the theory of Godwyn being a martyr and we find out they were all in on it to hide the deed from Marika (Ranni, Miquella/Melina, Malenia, Gowdyn) because it involves bringing back destined death to the lands between which the golden order 100% doesn't want, but Godwyns death goes wrong and we have miquella wracked with guilt, perhaps it is what causes the infighting with the rest of the family. Very George R R martinesque IMO.

There is one spot in Liurnia at night, where you can see clearly the Full Moon behind the Erdtree, and there is a veil, the grace is Eastern Liurnia Lake Shore, as soon as you arrive, pass time to night, then just walk a bit in the direction you can see the Erdtree, then you see the Full Moon and the veil.

Watching a video of Ziostorm reacting to a video of Timdiggity referencing information brough up by Ziostorm is a cyclical insanity I hadn't realized I needed. You're right there alongside Tim; putting everything together a few seconds before he mentions it.

Ranni uses a mist for sleep, which could be a spell. Melina touches the tarnished and he falls asleep, I can’t think of any other instance of that happening in the game.

5:58 i'm not sold on Melina = Miquella, but about the Ranni Sleep VS Melina sleep: Melina puts you to sleep after direct touch, displayed clearly via cutscene, which implies she innately has something sleep-related to her. The method used by Ranni is completely undisclosed, meaning she could've used sleeping pots or anything else. So he is correct, in fact Melina is the *_only one we are aware_* that has *_this sort_* of ability. 12:49 cmon dude, not a single laugh? xD you need to humor yourself a bit more 20:23 yeah I really think those are isolate things, not really related. 24:12 Idk what youre into, but the ring never left the corpse's hand. Maybe it is cut content that I was not aware. 27:22 do it. Considering how Miquella is described (somewhat 'manipulative'), i'm 100% sure he has a finger on a lot more things. I personally believe that Miquella is the one that teach Ranni about how she could get rid of her corpse and encouraged that. I dont believe Ranni was that smart to know how to create such rituals. And the only other smart and 'innovative' figure we know is Miquella, and his intelligence and capacities are praised multiple times in the game.

At this point, with everyone in this game also being someone eles, I wouldn't be surprised if someone came out with a theory that Boc is actually Radahn.

it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Melina is a cloned bud of her mother the way Millicent is a cloned bud of Malenia. The major clue to this is the fact that they wear the exact same clothing, but they also behave in a similar way. They have memory loss, they search for meaning in life and feel pulled in one direction but can choose to forge their own path instead, they have some relationship with their mother and are compelled to return to them, etc. Melina is Marika's daughter. Marika was the Gloam-Eyed Queen and forced into obedience to the Greater Will by her empyrean shadow, Maliketh. This is why Marika resents Maliketh and only has a single use for him, to hold her old power of Destined Death somewhere a chosen Tarnished can steal it back.

Something that gets really interesting to think about in the context of this theory is that one line about St. Trina he brings up "Some say she was a comely young girl, others are sure he was a boy". I think this could be a situation like Radagon and Marika being the same person, but actually two unique people at the same time, Radagon and Marika aren't just two consciousnesses in one body, when one wants to do something they physically swap bodies. Most people just assume that line in the St. Trina's sword is referring to Miquella's androgynous appearance, but maybe the reason nobody can agree on their gender is because they're followers were actually interacting with two different people without realizing it, some of their followers met Miquella and some of their followers met Melina, and in reality they're both St. Trina

Maybe the hand in the cocoon belongs to Messmer and the shadow lands in the dlc is a memory version that can only be accessed by touching Messmer's hand. Mohg might've stolen Miquela's body to bring him to the shadow lands for some reason.

AgentJake had a really interesting theory that Ranni and Godwin were actually supposed to be the God and Elden lord of the next age. Building on that, I think theres potential to the fact that, Godwin may have martyred himself willingly for Ranni, knowing that she refused to be a "puppet" to the 2 fingers, making himself, in a way, a god of death. All while Marika was unaware.

Something I want to add, I don't think it's Ranni that puts Kale to sleep, I think Melina puts Kale to sleep so that Ranni can give you the summoning bell. Everybody thought it was Ranni because Ranni is sitting right there, but there's no indication that it was actually Ranni.

What if Marika is just a Mimic Tear. She's a Ditto to the world of Elden Ring

If Melina is Miquella/Trina, that would mean I fell for another dude, it would be Gwyndolin all over again.

What I find strange is that he doesn't mention all the dialog Melina has about Marika and that she quotes her directly. I always wondered how Melina knew about what Marika said

Well tbf melina only visits you when you’re at a site of grace and what do you to when you’re at a site of grace? You rest or in other words maybe you sleep/dream. That’s why it’s entirely possible that melina is miquella

The maidens of successful tarnished are ALL turned into Kindling, as seen with Vyke, Sabari’s dialogue, and Bernadt (the dude from volcano manor that sells you stuff and jumps you). So they are all kindling maidens

I've been on the same thought train as you Zio about the collaborators of the night of black knives, but each participant had their own motives. Ranni, her freedom, Miquella, the revival of his brother to be a godly consort to his haligtree, Rykard, to fight back against the Erdtree and Marika to escape her role.

The amount of the video keeps saying it has been “confirmed” is giving me strong Ancient Aliens vibes.

The arm in the cocoon looks more like Messmer's than Miquella's.

Personally my theory would be instead that Messmer and Melina are related, either by being twins, or the same person separated ( in the same way as Radagon/Marika) as both seems to have a link with fire and "creating trees" and it's already speculated that Messmer already burned the Erdtree, making it the first cardinal sin.

I just realised that it’s now less than two months left until the DLC and we might finally actually get some more info

it's just a theory but maybe the godskin being more susceptible to sleep is because they were/are fighting against the frenzied flame and so being more easily influenced by sleep would help them sooth the effect of the frenzied flame should they be inflicted(but this does rely on the cut content being the intended lore so there's a high chance of it not being true).

I believe the shining figure in the DLC trailer is not Miquella, but Godwyn the Golden. First indication of this comes from the trailer itself: To reach the land of Shadow Miquella had to divest himself of his golden lineage. Godwyn's story also seem to parallel the story of Balder in northern mythology, and if the Shadow lands are connected to the afterlife this serve as a further parallel to the Balder myth.

I personally subscribe to the Gloam Eyed/Dusk Eyed connection but it's nice the community comes together so we can try and tie it all together 💎

Oh I really like the idea of the orange energy being the Crucible. We know from recent interviews that the Shadow Erdtree is actually its true form, so maybe Miquella is in the Land of Shadows to graft his Haligtree 2.0 directly onto the Erdtree.

I just realized this. You mostly see Melina when you are RESTING at a grace. Trina only visits people in dreams. Sleep is also involved with her other appearances in the cave of knowledge and at the Flame of the Giants. That could be intentional design. I'm still highly skeptical of the theory but its just one more small connection.

Watching this video an idea popped in my mind. I'm italian and i think it's interesting, at this point, to realize that trina in my language Is actually the feminine of the Word "trino", that refers to the christian concept of trinity: "father, son and holy Spirit". It Is certainly a stretch, but knowing how Miyazaki Is passionate about Italy and the divine in general, might have used the name trina for an entity that Is actually three different ones: Miquella, melina and trina or even Miquella, melina and the gloam eyed queen

We know that when given a grace the body of that individual goes through a form of change (when we defeat margitt and then see his real body being held by his father) so it’s not a far stretch to claim that a grace may give someone unique abilities of their particular god, like for example they might be able to separate their soul from their bodies into another or even split their soul into fragments.

I've always felt that Melina is a result of the Shattering. The description for Marika's Hammer states it was both the tool used to shatter the Elden Ring and the tool used to repair it, due to Marika and Radagon fighting each other's will on what to do with the Elden Ring. And in that process, Melina was "born" from the Shattering and was born at the foot of the Erdtree. That's why she can be considered an Empyrean because she was created from the actions of Marika and Radagon, but there was never time to assign a Shadow to her, and how she's connected to Marika's echoes considering how she still has some Elden Ring left in her.

Bro I literally messaged you about 10+ times on discord explaining this entire theory to you last year. At this point I have the oldest post on reddit explaining this theory as well as a new post summarizing the latest version. I absolutely am claiming credit for coming up with this theory first and have been telling everyone about it for 2 years to make sure I get that credit. So glad to see everyone coming around now!!!

This theory makes it so that there is a non-zero possibility that the Gloam-Eyed Queen is Melina who is also a Black Knife Assassin/Numen warrior who is also St. Trina who is also Miquella who is also Torrent’s former master ( The list was in no order btw)

12:45 I would also like to add that since for us to be able to access the dlc, we need to travel to the land of shadows by touching the hand in the cocoon BUT we need to have freed the stars by killing rhadaan first. So if melina is miquella then we shouldn’t be able to access the round table hold before killing rhadaan by the same logic

23:26 I'd say that there's a fair bit of evidence that there is some history between St. Trina and the gloam eyed queen. It would cement the double helix as Miquella's symbol, rather than just something to do with outer gods. The double helix ring in particular is interesting. We see it on Messmer's crest, on the Haligtree knights, and around the roundtable hold symbol.

Feh. I had this silly thought a year and a half ago. I was randomly thinking about last names for potential characters, and when I got to 'St. Clair,' my brain went "Hey, what if St. Trina's just a person's last name? Like, 'Melina St. Trina'?" -- then all these rusty gears started turning inside my head. I should get that looked at.

Very interesting and fun theory. Not too sold on it, but I can't say it isn't possible, and I kinda want it to be true. For me the biggest problem is that it just feels weird that Miquella would be 4 people at once: Himself, Melina, St. Trina, and The Gloam-Eyed Queen. There's one thing I would like to add though. It's to do with the way Miquella could compel other people. I think Melina sort of has this element as well. You need to accept Melina's accord to enter Leyndell. You literally cannot beat the game without doing what Melina asks of you. Melina is compelling you to accept her accord and help her get to the Erdtree. Maybe it's a minor or irrelevant input, but I think it helps the theory out at least

I think we can get answers about Melina without her coming back. It would make sense for her not to be featured in the DLC because players could be at various points of the game, some having burned her, some not yet etc

Counterpoint to the last shot in the trailer. That's Godwyn the Golden, after the Tarnished frees him from Deathblight. Also, Melina can't be the Gloam-Eyed Queen, because the timeline is wrong, and Marika is the Gloam-Eyed Queen.

The point that the Trina's Torch face looks like Melina reminds me that before the game even came out, people noticed that Ranni's 2nd, ethereal face is shaped like Melina's. I also noticed how the strange marking on Melina's eye is gone in the Frenzy ending. It has noticeably left an imprint, but it's not scarred. It's more like when you wear something so long that the skin it covered got paler. The other point on the Torch is that it's kinda cracked all around, so the "scar" on the face can be just a crack or chip. It explains why it doesn't actually look to line up with Melina's tattoo-lookin' thing. It comes down from the center of the eye then goes down and slightly to the right rather than curving to the left from the right of the eye. I always thought the thing on Melina's eye was a piece of metal when I first looks at it. Made it leaving an imprint in the Frenzy ending more logical. But after looking at it a bit more, I think it's an actual marking like a tattoo. Maybe a seal of some sort that she removed to face the world the Frenzy Flame left behind. Anyway, cute theory but not at all convinced. Things like Torrent could be as simple as Melina not being considered his master. Just someone holding onto him. Former doesn't have to mean last either. And powers attributed to Miquella and Trina aren't necessarily unique to them. Plenty come and go from Roundtable, and Ranni obviously knew some sleep magic, so Melina surely could as well. They all could even have overlapping goals and similar interests while being distinct individuals quite easily. Glad the theory's out there at least.

I commented this idea a month ago on Your video "who is messmer the impaler". It always bothered me how melina background was kinda lacking, but it was not lacking. It was there the whole time lol

If they wanted to make a connection between Mohg holding the hand in the cocoon and the player holding melina's hand to go to the round table, they would have made it the same animation. Not only is the animation different but the hand that's on top is swapped with your hand being on top in one situation and mohgs on the bottom in the other

Women in medieval times will ride a horse sideways or with both legs together to protect their HYMEN to prove and keep their VIRGINITY. That information should be shared and explored more when comparing Melina and Miquella

Well I don't think Melina is Miquella, or that the body in the Cocoon, is Miquella, but I do think it could be Messmer, and I think it's possible that Mohg and Messmer to some unknown extent are actually being used by Miquella as a conduit to the Formless Mother. I think Miquella, if he is truly modeled after you know who from Berserk, is gonna try and usurp Mohg's Dynasty and make contact with the Formless mother, get all the blood he needs for the Haligtree from the Formless Mother herself, change it's properties to heal afflictions and Malania of the Scarlet Rot maybe by combining the unalloyed gold with Bloodflame, and possibly even cure Godwyn of the death blight. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the clip of a bright glowing Miquella in Golden Flames isn't exactly that. Unalloyed Bloodflame or something. If the Formless Mother really has no intention of intruding on the affairs of the mortal world Miqualla could have found his perfect choice for an Outer God who would not meddle, and provide a true unalloyed golden order with a full fledged Haligtree powered by an endless supply of blood from the Formless Mother. All completely separate from the Erdtree. Also, I can't help but wonder if: 1. Marika was in fact the Gloam Eyed Queen, 2. That when Maleketh defeated her he sealed death for her to maintain the Golden Order, but it was a lie because Marika is secretly plotting for the Nox, but told him this to cover her true intentions. 3. That Malaketh was the Death of the Demigods because he was the right hand of Marika as the Gloam Eyed Queen. 4. That Malaketh eventually defeated Marika as Gloam Eyed Queen and the Godskins because he was ordered to do so by the Two Fingers because Marika as the GEQ burned the old tree. 5. The period in which Malaketh defeated Marika was the missing piece of the transition from the The Crucible era to the Erdtree Era a lor of people are missing. 6. I think Maleketh took the Gloam Eye from Marika upon her defeat as the GEQ and that's why it is a stone eye in his possession. 7. I think Melina actually inherits Destined Death the way Marika did as the Gloam Eyed Queen when Destined Death was released back into the world, and while she was not the previous GEQ she is the new one if not burned. 8. I think the spear in Marika's side may be a wound from Malaketh's Blade that reappered only when Destined Death was returned to the world, just like the reason why the Erdtree burned in that moment. Could be all the ways Destined Death was used returned as well. 9. I believe that the transition from Marika being the Empyrean GEQ to becoming a god and the vessel of the Elden Ring was a punishment of the Two Fingers, not a reward, and they they gave her not only the Elden Ring at this time, but they also gave her Radagon. This not only was to turn her into the perfect Rebis, but as a check on her future actions. Remember, Radagon's driving motivation was achieving perfection, but I think this is actually the driving motive of the Elden Ring itself, and Radagon may be a personification of the will of the Elden Ring itself. 10. I think Radagon is a manifestation of the Elden Ring itself, in perfect opposition to Marika and therefore a perfect punishment AND a perfect Rebis to make new Empyreans. In fact I think Radagon has been slowly taking over Marika over the years, but she still has control, and mocks him for it, which is why she also won out, and shattered the Elden Ring, because she is a God, and Radagon is not. 11. I Think it's possible the reason she was upset, if at all over Godwyn's death, may be because Godwyn was possibly an actual Empyrean not born of Radagon? Which begs the question if actually possible, how could Godfrey have an empyrean child? I imagine even if conspiring against the Erdtree Marika would find extreme value in this. Does anybody know this to be true or false? 12. I think the age of Plenty was a ploy by Marika to weaken the "Crucible" tree, before eventually burning it. IDK, these are some of my crazy theories, but I had to put them down SOMEWHERE to make sense of it all.

Another thing to note is that we find Melinas clothes next to a Scarlet Aeonia bloom in the brace of the Haligtree. Right infront of Malenias arena.

my theory is that it's a "three part" type of deal. Malenia is actually Ranni's former physical body with Miquella's soul trapped inside it and the corpse you find ontop of the divine tower is actually Godwyn's real former body NOT the abomination you find at the roots of the erdtree NOR the one hidden beneath castle stormveil. Both of them are merely recreations/replicas of the actual Godwyn.

I do want some points about the kindling maiden part, and I don't feel if it was Miquella there would be memory loss. However, due to the fact that Melina doesn't like the frenzied flame and St Trina tries to help the merchants subdue it, and how Miquellas needle takes it away although the original intention was to take away the god of rot's influence...I feel there is connection there in all that.

I have this theory way back that I always wanted to look more into but I do not have time and resources anymore: I think when Marika was having a hard time winning against Caria/Liurnia she got desperate and thought the solution was just to destroy her enemy from within. So she devised a plan, but this plan is kind of blasphemous as it involves fragmenting yourself like how I believe Malenia fragmented herself with Millicent as her "pride". Removing this pride because she was about to face Radahn, said to be one of the most powerful demigods, so she will not hesitate to use unprideful powers (such as unleashing the full power of Scarlet Rot) just to win. Marika needs someone to infiltrate the Carian royalty but this task cannot be given to anyone else. That's why she divided herself to birth Radagon, the side of herself that values the Golden Order the most. This is an insurance that whatever Radagon does he will never betray the Golden Order. But the plan backfired because now we have a Marika that has less love for the Golden Order and a Radagon, a sleeper agent, who loves it above anything else even more than his family with Rennala explaining how he left them easily. Marika now longing to end her wars of unifying everything under the rule of the Erdtree but this does not exactly mean under the Golden Order. I think it is easier to replace than the Erdtree. Now she might have no direct control on Radagon so she only knows he serves the Golden Order but she doesn't know if he still serves her. So she recalls Radagon back to forge herself whole again. But this could've been a trigger. Ranni now is under the control of the Two Fingers, her father left and her mother is turning insane. Her family shattered and her fate sealed to walk the same path as the woman who destroyed her life. So Ranni, along with her brothers Rykard and Radahn devised a plan to exact revenge to upend everything from the Fingers to the Erdtree and everything in between. Rykard helps Ranni to plan the Night of Black Knives and Radahn halted the stars to pause Ranni's fate of being a God until she finishes their revenge unbeknownst to him that Ranni's fate was actually finding the Fingerslaying Blade all along. But Malenia happened and Radahn's mind fades because of the Scarlet Rot. That's why I feel like the order of killing Radahn hurts Ranni but it is a kind of mercy and a necessary evil. Now, first meeting Ranni she uses sleep, an ability more associated with Miquella. Also she knows Torrent and the steed's former master. What if Miquella and Ranni coerced Marika to disband the Golden Order (Miquella having the power to influence others or charm them also would want to destabilize the Erdtree for his Haligtree)? Marika now convinced, tricks Maliketh and helps Ranni steal a fragment of Destined Death. Maybe she had to trick Maliketh instead of asking for it directly because Maliketh might suspect something that could be tied directly to Marika or maybe Maliketh will not approve of the plan. The Night of the Black Knives happen, and every piece is in place. Except, Ranni betrays Marika. Instead of granting Godwyn true death she tried to circumvent "death of soul and body" by killing Godwyn's soul, dealing a solid blow not only to the Golden Order but turning Marika's Golden Child and firstborn into something horrible. Then she offers her body to be released from the clutches of the Fingers. Two birds. This could explain why: - Marika went berserk and shattered the Elden Ring - Why Radagon was trying to mend it (he was loyal until the end) - Why Black Knife Assassins was in Caria's estate near the end of Ranni's questline. They were close to Marika and could have been sent by her to hunt Ranni down but when they arrived at the estate only Blaidd and Iji was there and Ranni's plan was already in full bloom. - Why Radahn halted the stars even though he is a fan of Godfrey So sorry for the long text and lack of good formatting. The round table hold is inside the Erd Tree, that’s why when you burn the Erd Tree the round table hold is also on fire when you visit it.

Can someone exaplain to me how melina can be miquella if melina burns herself at the forge? I suppose she could live on in the shadow realm or something but I thought she was already a spirt/ bodiless. Does this mean she would be a ghost of a ghost in the land of shadow if she was miquella lol?

There's also an interesting theory floating around that the Gloam-eyed Queen is the goddess of the darkmoon and that Ranni and Melina are her twin daughters (proposing that Empyrians are always "opposite" twins born of a single god) and that they're not related to Marika or Rennala at all. It's building on the theme of dualism and the balance of the Sun (the erdtree) vs the Moon.

My dude, what you said when you first paused were my thoughts exactly when I watched tim's vid. It's too easy to tie Melina to almost anything in the game because she is essentially a hole in the story which we can currently fill in a variety of ways, for now. First she was Marika's daugher, then the Gloam Eyed Queen, then she was just Melina, and now she's Miquella? I know some of those theories don't overlap but I still can't buy any of it until the DLC is out and people have had time to really dig in.
