Hope this video comes to Mr. Harris attention. It would be interesting to see a meeting between him and Paramahamsa Vishwananda. Maybe the Guruji would be willing to give Mr. Harris a gift, lets say a ring or a necklace - if you know what I mean. lol I can't help but imagine his face.

Thank you Swamiji for this excellent and thought-provoking presentation. The way you put things right and back into context is so clear, refreshing and simply logical that it is a pleasure to follow through. Your personal experience is so precious for who doesn’t limit themselves to what they think they know. Could it be that some people have no real interest in investing and experiencing the truth. Could it be that in their arrogance and complacency it is enough for them to „be right“? So be it. Hari Bol ❤

Jai Gurudev ❤ Theres this great author (Biochemist from Oxford; Rupert Sheldrake) that contested Dawkin’s work in a book called “The Science Delusion”, where he shows how science has been developed to be dogmatic and has transformed into a religion of sorts, without ever showing proof a it’s dogmas. He is brilliant. He also has an exquisite book called “The Presence of the Past: Morphic Resonance and the Habits of Nature” where he argues about how things acquire their shape and how our habits influence other people’s habits (through his Morphic Field Theory). It goes in hand with what Guruji says about if we better ourselves, other people will do the same ❤❤

Yes, Mr. Sheldrake is another interesting source of intellectual challenges to the mainstream thinking. Indeed, the way people trust their lives to "science" - and expose others lives to dangers based on their understanding of science - these days, shows clearly the dogmatic character of such belief. Because science, as it is supposed to be understood, is a constant search for the better model to describe reality. It's an open chase, not definite truths. Religion provides "truths", science provides constant doubts. Of course, put it that way it may sound that both should be wrong, but that's not the case. They are resources for our mind to navigate this reality and each has its own field of application.

One of the quotes from his book that stuck with me (where he talks about “promissory materialism” - really great concept), about the Big Bang Theory: “It’s almost as if science said, “Give me one free miracle, and from there the entire thing will proceed with a seamless, causal explanation.”’ The one free miracle was the sudden appearance of all the matter and energy in the universe, with all the laws that govern it.” ― Rupert Sheldrake, The Science Delusion: Freeing the Spirit of Enquiry

Thank you for pointing out the work of Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, one of the few scientists who doesn’t let himself be discouraged by people like Harris or Dawkins. Instead he continues investigating in the search for truth and meaning beyond the „science“ accepted by conventional academy.

I tyle.

I want to experience this life again and again and suffer for eternity. What a precious privilege it would be suffer again and again in which is almost miraculous called life.

There is no material cause for your experience of diety, but there can be a psychological explanation for it, I am not judging you for experiencing that , But it is possible that you could be hypnotised to believe certain things, there is also a possibility that he already had the diety. I am sure you extracted meaning this way with that particular experiences based on your understanding of things. In my view, it is possible he didn’t make you believe anything , But because you’re open to suggestion, you are more likely to believe in certain things, mind is incredibly incredibly powerful thing.

i don't agree with you argument that extraordinary claims should be judged by same standards as ordinary ones, the reason for that is ordinary claim require lesser evidence because it being ordinary already implies much of it is already proved so a minimum amount extra evidence is needed, in case of extraordinary claims like resurrection, there has not been a single admissible evidence of such a thing so the evidence for it is so low already that its paramount that we demand much more evidence for this claim, i.e to be frank if some one wants to give evidence of resurrection then they have to show a live example of it now which can scientifically verified by people as not been rigged, nobody has shown such a phenomena hence resurrection cannot be believed in unless you have faith in it, same implies to claims like virgin birth, but even if so that still doesn't prove historicity of jesus's resurrection or virgin birth because evidence collection and preservation during jesus's time was not good enough to provide any evidence of those phenomena anyways, but now do you see if you give live instances of resurrection and virgin birth then the evidence demanded for accounts of jesus's ressurrection and virgin birth are way less extraordinary because such phenomena have been already proven to exist.

for those with higher levels of consciousness the extraordinary events are everyday experiences. Swami Revati here says that the evidence can only be seen by those who follow the spiritual methods to see and to know. In the same if one wants to fully understand scientific evidence, you must learn the necessary theory and related research methods. Ironically, most science is believed by non scientists. People have faith in science in the way people have religious faith.
@Tinesthia
@Tinesthia 5 месяцев назад
@@WamuyuGatheru How much technology, medicine, and Human knowledge can be shown to have Science at the basis of it? We, having the benefit of a couple hundred years of scientific progress, have millions of direct evidence-based predictions made and confirmed through scientific methodology, each of which can be re-confirmed by the peer-review. This is the opposite of faith. This is a thoroughly tried and true methodology that produces reality-based results. I don't have to be a scientist myself to have confidence in it based solely on the success of its use, if Science was unreliable, we wouldn't even be communicating in this manner. Ironically it is those with claimed 'higher levels of consciousness' or 'holy texts' that use faith to justify their belief, because they recognize their claim is not able to be tested or confirmed in any known reliable manner. I don't have to use science to see its effectiveness. I don't have to become an artist to view beautiful art. There is not enough time in one's life to test every claim by joining their process in order to see results.
@kianjimmy590
@kianjimmy590 5 месяцев назад
@Tinesthia brother, listen to the video again. Swami has thoroughly explained how some people do not use faith to justify their belief, but they concluded some spiritual claims to be true Just like you don't have to be a scientist to see science, similarly you don't have to 'test every claim by joining their process' to say in your own words, to witness a miracle, for example a manifested object. The thing is, like many people, you haven't come across a manifested object in front of your eyes. For those who have witnessed the supernatural experiences, they do not have to 'test the claim ' if they don't want, just like you don't have to be a scientist to see science. But if they want, if we want, there are some ways to conclude that they are true as he explained in the video. Every point that you said about science is true, and the video is saying that you cannot say the spiritual claims are false because science cannot prove it, and it explains how you can conclude these claims to be true. Science is present everywhere. Though the supernatural has been happening since more than 2000 years even before Jesus, it is not everywhere as Science. (And swami gave an explanation for that when he talks about why God does "reveal" himself individually but not universally). Now, just because supernatural acts have not been happening universally but only for a 'few' to witness does not mean that they are not true. As an example, maybe not a good example but we get the idea, there is snow only in the northern countries of the world and the extreme south. Snow is not universally present in the world. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Science can prove Snow but cannot prove all supernatural claims (though it can prove a little of them like aura imagining etc.) And swami explained why we cannot use science to prove these to be true and what we can do instead to conclude that the claims are true.

I spent three months in 2023 at Sri Satya Sai's home and ashram in Puttaparthi. The comments on Satya Sai here are chilling. The ignorance and arrogance here is staggering. Isn't even a little respect due for someone with millions of followers who commands huge financial contributions from the largest corporates of India?

Wah... When he speaks of miracles as outlandish. What are we supposed to do with our miraculous experiences? Why is he owed evidence by those who have experienced miracles? He should just relax and enjoy his non miraculous life.
@SA-cb2it
@SA-cb2it 5 месяцев назад
Why do you have to label something that you don't understand as supernatural or miracle? It is just simply you don't understand. Let's say you lived in an environment totally unloved and you have no introduction to what love is and the truth is you meet someone and experience love and just do not understand what love is but you feel light /good, is that a miracle? Or supernatural? No. Why should Sam label his experience with the guru a miracle if what he experienced in his presence something he doesn't have a word for. What is experienced egolessness, total acceptance and absence of conflict, something that everyone wants to experience but don't, everyone wants to experience total acceptance /love from others which never happens, they don't even get to experience that alone with themselves, so experiencing it for the first time is going to be incredibly calming for him or anyone, there is an explanation, he just doesn't know it and it definitely isn't miraculous. Not that i agree with Sam all the time, I have seen him to be biased without his awareness , he has jumped to the conclusion and then propagates it by finding points to support his arguments. In my view, in human realm anything favorable that we do not have an explanation for is considered a miracle. I am seeing online people talking about ghost encounters, their minds playing tricks and they do not understand what to believe and convince themselves that their experience is unexplainable hence supernatural. It is lack of awareness that you are not able to look at all the facts at hand to be able to judge accurately and hence lapses in judgment. People have hard time holding information in their minds that is incomplete and try to explain it to have a 'clear' picture in the now so they can move on from that event. You don't have to explanation for everything to accept it for what it is. Sun rises from east, ypu don't have to know east or west to know that that particular direction is where this thing named sun rises and on the opposite side rests, but fear of unknown makes people want to find out what it is and how it works so they can be assured that it is not a threat, if you can't explain why sun is rising and setting you will think it is a miracle that it comes up daily at the same time illuminates everything so you can see around and eat vegetables and do your thing and quite fortunately sets at the right time so you can have an uninterrupted sleep, how miraculous right? Why not start worshipping it so it doesn't stop doing it, do things to keep it happy, you see where I am going with this? There are so many things e still don't know about the universe, there are so many things we don't know about our own bodies which are with us 24x7! And can be perceived by our senses let alone universe which has stuff we can't even sense. Just because science hasn't caught upto something it does not make it supernatural, it is just natural that we have no understanding of yet. While it is mind boggling how ancient Indians knew so much about body and especially mind and how ego works to have created entire philosophy based on that about karma and dharma which is quite accurate.

Ohhhhh.... brother, you messed up bad on the Satya Sai part. Harris is talking about the videos where Satya Sai was caught on tape doing bad magic tricks. Caught pulling objects out of sleeve etc. Did you not know this? On that point, he makes a valid point. He wasn't talking about his energy or Shakipat etc, it's fake magic tricks. Ouch, I was loving your video until you began speaking about the Sai Baba stuff, without being aware that he was caught faking miracles of manifesting items. You come across very naive after the Sai Baba part. You might need to research that and then delete this video and redo again
