In this episode, Swami Akash discusses how Eastern Philosophy is often dismissed in the Western hemisphere and elucidates the reasons behind this dismissal.
Is it dismissed due to competition?
Are there any similarities between the two, and what sets both philosophies apart? Finally, we delve into the origins of society and examine the differences between understanding and rejecting ideas.
Swami Vishwaakashananda met Paramahamsa Vishwananda in 2016 and in 2022 he was initiated as one of the twelve appointed swamis of Bhakti Marga, responsible for the countries of Czech Republic, Slovakia, Albania, Sicily and North Macedonia.
Born in Italy, Swami Akash has a university background in western philosophy, which when married to the extensive training he has received under Paramahamsa Vishwananda, makes him a highly qualified teacher.

Jai Gurudev, it brings us so much joy to reflect on our education, which often seems to be with no use, and bring it to life through the lens of Eastern philosophy. Thank you!

Im a political science student. While reading wester thinks, especially Aristotle and Plato, it was unbelievable how similar it was. Like three gunas in Hinduism ie satva raja tama. He also talked abt three value and based on which, he distributed duties. Exactly like Hinduism

ChatGPT is not a reliable source, it often hallucinates but it is great for your first research step. However, it should not be taken as a reference. Give us more cool perspectives from the Hindu point of view that help on the spiritual path and can be applied. Eastern vs. Western philosophy/mentality in a reconciling way - I want to see the similarities! Show us the great philosophical tools! I definitely want to see more of this👍🙏🙏🙏

In Hinduism, in different sampraday, they may say they are telling the truth. But I think very rarely they claim that theirs statement is the only truth. Most of them inherently know that it's one of the way of reaching to the truth. And that's why, here in India they don't hate other sampradaya. On 22nd January itself, about 100s of sampradaya came on pran pratishtha of Ram ji and everyone was crying when they saw Ram's eyes for the first time. And having 100s of sampradaya has been beneficial for Hinduism survival even after 1000 yr of invasion. Bcz invaders couldn't know who is the single head priest of Hinduism after killing whom they can erase Hindu thought. Even after they killed millions, still someone from different sampradaya used to start new way of worship and used to be instrument for revival and spreading of Hinduism. Even during Christian missionaries, when they used to target Hinduism by pointing out something from somewhere, people from other sampradaya would not believe it bcz it wasn't what they were taught. Even Paramhansa yogananda in the very first paragraph of 'Autobiography of a yogi' he said we are the most ancient living civilization bcz our guru always came on the earth in human body and taught us to save it according to the prevalent belief of that time period.

Jai Gurudev! Great talk. On the issue of linguistics: from my understanding Sanskrit and other languages are rooted in the Aryan civilisation. Where did the Aryan come from? Talking about Plato, it would be very interesting to approach his relay of Atlantis and thus the idea of an ante-diluvian civilisation that spawned a lot of civilisations around the world, where I think Aryans played a role. I would believe it would go much further than the idea of a West or East philosophy. I much like the work of Graham Hancock (although not full agreeing with his ideas on some parts) and the anthropologist Robert Sephr (hes on RU-vid).

Isn`t it denigrating to great ideas to suggest that they must have spread through cultural appropriation and not arrived at by rational inquiry. That`s what philosophy was about. It would be good if greek philosophers arrived at monotheism by deductive thought and not by somehow learning it from Persian or Jewish traders. It would mean there are reasons to be a monotheist independent of the culture you live in. It would mean, as you say, that God is available universally. So I don`t see a point and a reason of suggesting that Greek philosophy took anything from Hindu.
