Yeah, they remembered that while Lucifer is a fallen angel, he is still an angel. He even says "what in the UNHOLY HELL is that?", mentions God... he doesn't see Heaven as enemies, he doesn't hate God, he's just sad and disappointed

When you were analyzing Lucifer I was just nodding along, like: "Yep. Yep. Check. That's me." I relate to him on so many levels and he's become my absolute favorite character. More Than Anything had me in tears for a week. And Lucifer has so many telling expressions. Such as in the flashback he looks so happy to be showing his work to Charlie but when Lilith (there's a theory that she's really not but idk) takes her away his smile drops and he kinda hunches over like he's sunk back into depression again.
I am so glad they made Lucifer such a caring dad. Sure he's kind of a doofus who isn't exactly good at this, but he is legit trying and does truly love Charlie. Also Hearing Alastor use profanity is GOLD. That’s how you know he’s really upset because nobody really gets to him.
Love the symbolism at 38:56, Lucifer’s face just says “ok here we go again” but the next scene, when the spears are aimed at Charlie, that’s fear. He’s fine with himself being the target because, as Adam points out, most hated being in all of creation Lucifer, he’s used to it.

i'm trying to add all the signs up in my head like 1.) social seclusion 2.) speaking to an 'audience' that isn't there so making up companions 3.) not initiating contact with charlie whether by phone or physically visiting 4.) surrounding himself with memories that only make him feel worse 5.) hyperfixation 6.) yep those social skills 7.) yep he has no attention span/forgets things easily because they never really registered in the first place 8.) incredibly insecure about his place in charlie's life/overcompensating with gifts 9.) yes omg those intrusive suicidal thoughts 10.) seeking out confirmation for his negative world view/wanting charlie to agree and validate those thoughts 11.) i know i laughed a little about his facial expressions but his aversion to being touched/approached if he doesn't initiate it with mimsy and nifty is such a thing 12.) placing all his hope in charlie because he doesn't see anything left in himself to take like he just looked defeated with all those spears pointed at him and only reacts when she's in danger 13.) there's probably so much more i'm missing cuz this is top of my head but wow. i really hope he shows up again. i mean...i'm sure he will but watching and recording these episodes one by one is killing me 😓 anyway i'm impressed they managed to convey so much considering what little screen time he's actually had and it broke my heart and i'm sorry for rambling on your comment

He's definitely depressed but I'm honestly seeing a lot of people interpreting those first couple symptoms as well as his hyperfixation with to be signs of ADHD. And as someone with ADHD I can definitely relate to that.

Yeah, the voice actor for Lucifer knocked it out of the effing park with this one and the visuals kept step with him the whole way. The facial expressions, the imagery, the way you could actually feel the fatalism caused by the trauma and pain when he was banished to Hell in the way he looked and sang. 10/10 performance all around, instantly made him an integral part of the show.
My theory for the ducks is that he was fixated on the moment Charlie first laid eyes on one of his creations, the part where she sneaked in while he was working, and so he held on to that memory of her smile despite being estranged for a long time. There's also that line he sings, "I've missed that smile."
You analyze this show on a level I wish more reaction youtubers did. There are so many things you noticed that I did too that so many other people just completely ignore/don't notice/and then complain they don't understand or wasn't made clear. Then missing a detail makes them hate another and... We all know the love/hate of this show. I know the main flaw with the show is pacing but being able to take in the details given really kind of helps counter that. I hope they get more than 8 episodes next season!
Yes, I've noticed a lot of reactions are fairly short and brief. I actually loved how long and detailed this was. She noticed a lot of things i did that few if any reactors ever comment on.
When Lucifer sang "I will shelter and adore you more than anything" I instantly teared up. Like a swelling in my eyes. It happened in like 1 second. The way he sang thay line was so filled with emotion
When it comes to Luci's overreaction to the knowledge that Charlie likes the ladies, it immediately struck me that he was just glad that she wasn't dating Alastor. Hence, why he was so enthusiastic with Vaggie. Really good observations overall.
I think the story with Alastor was that he was from New Orleans, was a complete mama's boy, that it was his mother who taught him the importance of smiling, and he was also the host of a radio show - a job that he enjoyed. He also had a side job/side hobby as a cannibalistic serial killer and that he was accidentally shot by a hunter who had mistaken him for a deer while he was burying the remains of one of his victims. Don't know how much of this has been confirmed.
Your nailing of Lucifer’s depression symptoms before the reveal and that excellent explanation of depression is on point, as someone sufffering from SCD myself, your symptom explanations are spot on, i wall myself off from others because I hate myself, I fixate on things that I can completely control (caring for my cat, my aquariums, and writing interactive stories in AI Dungeon that have me living in a much better reality than im in now. Luci is so bloody relatable, his fear and neuroses are absolutely believable. (No spoilers on Episode 8 though…)

In Defense of Lillith, look at what baby Charlie is wearing. I read that scene as "Hey, did you sneak out of bed ? Let me bring you back, it is time to sleep"
A bit of an interpretation for the ducks: (First off no idea why specifically it's ducks. Maybe Vivzie said something about it?) The 2 words that represent Lucifer is dreamer and creator. He is also the sin of pride yet he doesn't act very prideful. Because the pride refers to his creations. In the flashback we see Lucifer dream of this fantastical planet sized seraph duck and he loves sharing these ideas for creation with Charlie. Now fast forward to today and Lucifer has lost the ability to dream. The ducks remind him of his time with Charlie and he still creates them. But the ducks he makes now are uninspired and Lucifer is unable to take pride in them. The ducks serve as a visual symbolism of how defeated he truely is.
For the lore of how they appear in hell, from what I've heard it usually has something to do with either their sin or how they died. Like Angel and all of his family are spiders because they were a mob family and it symbolizes their web of crime. And Alastor has deer characteristics because a hunter mistook him for a deer when he was hiding a body and the X that appears on his forehead when he powers up/gets angry is where the hunter shot him.

Their sins, personality and how they died are how their demon forms are picked: angel was part of a mob family so he and his family are modeled after spiders cause of their “web of crime” husk was apparently really into magic shows and likely wanted to be a magician so his demon form kinda has a magician angle (his wings kinda as a cape and how he’s dressed) and maybe black cats being seen as unlucky and his gambling addiction alastor died by being shot by a hunter who mistook him for a deer when he was hiding a body. plus alastor was a serial killer so the irony of this violent sadistic killer being turned in a seemingly harmless prey animal. and his radio element obviously part of it too since he was a radio host

In fact, when he assumes his true demon form, you can see an X on his forehead to mark the spot where he was shot.
A theory that I’ve seen thrown around is that Lilith left because she is somehow trying to destroy the entire idea of heaven. I find it hard to believe that the show will completely throw her under the bus as an uncaring mother and a horrible wife. I think that after so many years of seeing Lucifer suffer she came up with some kind of plan. If she couldn’t make hell rise up to battle, then taking heaven down herself would be the next best plan. I understand it’s a “hard to see how” kind of a situation, but hey, she looks like a capable woman. Also, maybe the reason she tried keeping Lucifer and Charlie apart was because she didn’t want their daughter to view hell the way he viewed it. Remember, Lilith was the one that encouraged Charlie to care about her people.
I, too, have become a Lucifer simp. He's just a silly (but sad) lil guy who loves his duckies and his daughter, and he's voiced by Jeremy Jordan. Also I've been sucked into the radioapple ship lol
I think that scene with Lilith was about Lucifer's inability to reach out out on his own, the only real moment they have together is one where Charlie sneaks into his workshop late at night Lilith is the one that actually goes looking for her and puts her to bed, Charlie disappointment is focused squarely on her father for not going after her, that she's not going to really see him again after this, not on her mother for being the one that had to stand up and actually raise her, she doesn't resist or squirm or reach out when picked up we know Lilith is not afraid to leave a man who won't meet her level, I think they're both still deeply in love with each other but, Lucifer lost his spark and couldn't keep up while Lilith still had motivation and goals, they weren't functional together anymore
I think part of Lucifer's obsession with ducks relates to the "ugly duckling" parable. In the memory with little Charlie, the duck turns into a swan with six-wings. Lucifer has always been treated as the ugly duckling of heaven, shunned by the other angels and all of creation except for Lilith (and later Charlie). And then when Lilith left, he lost that last pillar of support that had been with him for the entire time they were in hell together, and thus started the spiral down into depression and pushing Charlie away so he wouldn't hurt/disappoint her too.

My read on Alastor in this episode is that he wants to be close to Charlie and the hotel for his own secret (and probably selfish) reasons, and two potenital threats to that showed up on the same day: Mimzy, who cares too little about Charlie and could ruin the hotel And Lucifer, who cares too much about Charlie and could usurp his own position if he decides to get directly involved
I’ve had a theory about how evil was created in this show. Like, we see how horrible Adam is, and we know that he demanded obedience from Lilith which is why she ran away. We also know in the story that Adam’s son Cain kills his other son Able. My theory is that evil didn’t start with Lucifer marrying Lilith or giving Eve the apple. I think evil started with Adam, and kept spreading throughout his lineage. But, I think heaven blamed Lucifer and cast him out rather than take responsibility for the flaws of their own creation. Also to add, I think that when Lilith refused Adam, heaven created Eve in place of her but made her to be completely loyal and obedient to Adam. But the apple that Lucifer gave her freed her mind causing Adam to be, ya know, Adam. And that angered heaven because Lucifer defied her them.
So I didn't see anyone else mention it, but for those who followed the production since before the pilot even started, Mimzy was a character teased and looked at for casting since the very beginning, and it was a little odd when all of a sudden she was nowhere to be found. So that adds a little bit of subtext to "I know you were all waiting for me!" (Ironically a lot of people feel like now that we have her she should have stayed gone, pun intended. For my money, it was a nice gag and payoff here, but I don't care either way if she comes back, even though I love that it's the same actress who voiced Spinel in Steven Universe)
There's a thing on some part of the fandom that says Vivzie can't write another kind of father than Lucifer and Stolas, which for now can be true but at the same time i was already sick of bad father figures on media so i'll take whatever Vivzie create, even i'm a bit political sometimes and i don't mind Charlie's relationship because it's sweet and not so on the nose like "look at us, we're lesbians, please cheer"
What are the odds that Nifty is in hell because she killed her boyfriend or husband because he didn't wipe his feet and got dirt and mud all over the floor - "He wouldn't......wipe his feet.......I asked him to......so many times..........it took me all afternoon to get the floors to shine..........."
my headcanon so far for Nifty is that she was hired on as the maid of a mafia family. she started crushing on the head of the family, went full yandere and murdered his wife, possibly tried to hide the body by chopping it up and feeding it to the family dog, he caught her in the act and shot her several times (indicated by the several red dots on the front of her outfit and the poodle on her skirt).
Charlie`s the most powerful Hellborn because she is technically a Nephilim(Half fallen angel, half humanborn demon)as well as being the Princess, she holds back her power because she`s pacifistic and doesn`t want to come off as "mean" and reinforce stigmas angels and humans have about the Morningstars or demons in general.
I've read elsewhere that Lucifer is the Sin of Pride, so him being a "Short King" is a tongue in cheek joke. But if you think of him as supremely Prideful, when you watch his interactions with others and reactions (ex. how angry he gets with Alastor trying to supplant him as her "dad"), plus how he keeps checking out when Charlie is talking, it all makes a ton of sense for his character as the Sin of Pride.
I think there is a deliberate misdirect with Lilith throughout the series. In the scene where she takes Charlie its not her leaving with Charlie. Its that Charlie is begging her father to tell her stories of his past and his dreams. And that is exactly what is crushing him. But he cannot deny Charlie. So he tells her stories. And it will crush him all the more. So Lilith limits Charlie's time with him in order to show him mercy. She is kind and compassionate.
I believe that I read somewhere that they way they look in hell has something to do with how they loved and how they died like allistair was a serial killer burying a body in the woods and was shot and killed being mistaken for a deer hence the antlers and eating the deer im his room

To be fair Lucifer is a Angel and Charlie is half angel so the angelic voice makes sense. I hope she gets to meet Aunts or Uncles in heaven some day with the arch angels.

The reason for obscuring Lilith's face during the song is pretty obvious. The scene is about Lucifer and Charlie, so they obscured Lilith's face so folks wouldn't feel compelled to pause in the middle of the big emotional song to obsess over what she looks like....oops.

I think people are really unfair to Lucifer. He DOES call Charlie. He calls Charlie in the first episode to ask her to go to the meeting for him. Her reaction to him calling is a bit surprised but not like it happened out of nowhere. He also makes it a point to say to himself "SHE hasn't called YOU in years." I think Charlie is equally to blame for her negative relationship with him. Lucifer's half of the couch is his neglect and depression that probably caused the division in the first place. But to be fair, if your greatest achievement was literally GIFTING KNOWLEDGE TO ALL OF MANKIND only for it to be misused and abused then told it's your fault and then got tossed into a firey pit of suffering to witness literally nothing but the worst of your magnum opus' consequences, I think you'd be a lil' depressed, too. Side note: He also instantly knew Vaggie was an angel. After he hugs her, he looks up and reaches for her head, probably looking for a halo and has a pretty shocked look in his eyes when he doesn't find one.

Nah Alastor is just in edge because Lucifer is so much more powerful than Alastor and Alastor don't like that so he taken advantage of Lucifers insecurities.
Charlie's goal is to prove to Heaven that there are people in hell that are not irredeemable and some of them do not deserve to be killed by the Exorcist Angels in Extermination Day. To her the Extermination Day is pointless genocide, I mean sure some of the demons that the Exorcist Angels killed are terrible people, but some of them also have the potential to improve themselves to be better people like Angel Dust and Sir Pentious. Her goal is to prove that the Exterminations are unnecessary or at the very least trying to minimize the casualties. But if you already seen episode 6 by now then you may see where Charlie is coming from and Heaven's 'flawed' system.
I think Alastor will stay an ambivalent character but I thought it was a strange moment that during Charlie´s and Lucifer´s song when they started bonding, Alastor had a genuine - not performative - without teeth - smile. It just looked like he was pleased.....at least for that moment. I suspect that maybe the fight with Vox - which could have been seven years ago, injured him enough that he needed help and Lilith was the only help available and that is why he is on her leash. It´s just a guess.... And I identified with Lucifer way too much. The fixations and then the complete lack of focus are so relatable. And everything else was said wonderfully by you.....and yeah.....depressed people don´t wanna darken the doorsteps of people who still are somewhat mentally stable.....I know that is not the right choice...but I know it feels that way. Like one is doing them a favour by just not showing up instead of maybe sobering the mood by something I say or my vibes in general. Also my social anxiety and autism make it so strenous to act around people. After an evening where I do go out and meet friends I feel like I´ve run a marathon.....it is fucking exhausting.
I don't think Lilith left Lucifer because she didn't love him. In fact I suspect she still loves him. But there was a problem. Lucifer lost his faith in Humanity. All he saw was the damage that fell into the pit with him. So he sunk into himself. Became functionless. But Lilith still had hope for humanity. She tried to unite the denizens of Hell as a community. She was opposed by the Predatory Overlords and the Angels. So she grabbed Alastor when he entered Hell and offered him a substantial boost in power in exchange for his soul. She then used him to take out the predatory Overlords leaving the more compassionate and civil ones alive. But into the void left by the dead Overlords rose the Vees. And they had extraordinary power like Alastor did. So when he confronted them Vox won. Barely. But he forced Alastor to retreat and lick his wounds. This left Lilith exposed. I won't go into the details past this point of my theory until you see the end of the season. But I believe the Morningstar family can be put back together.
Please try to do an analysis of the songs after you watch them. The stopping every couple of seconds during you listening and watching the song for the first time is making the video hard to watch.
Honestly I think her long term goal like with no real insider knowledge or like direction from the comics is for the Carmines for the angel dusts where like they were in bad circumstances and made bad choices but are just normal people or have good in them your never gonna get a power hungry overlord who was a cannibal murderer who apparantly practiced voodoo like an alastor or a vox to fully repent and move up right but to give people a second chance that want it and give some of the hell born citizens like herself and probably carmilla's daughters chance for a better life and like eternity is forever right that's a long time for people even some of the worst examples to maybe have a reason to want to change and like if she can get enough people repenting in hell there won't be enough souls for an uprising making an extermination unnecessary

I think it’s completely unfair to take that one out of context scene of lilith (FACELESS) and say that she was butting into their relationship. lucifer was in his room working which is seemingly where he spends all his time. if he wanted to go and see his daughter he could have left that room but he did not. lilith came and was putting charlie to bed (assuming because she was clearly in her pajamas) which is what an active parent does. I love lucifer but at the end of the day if he wanted to be a part of his daughter’s life then it was on him as a father to make that happen, not lilith or charlie.
Not trying to be mean but can I suggest you to watch the songs without stopping and then rewind to analyse them, you lose all the momentum and pathos they create, in my opinion is unbearable to watch it like this
Hi, i'm new to the channel and wanted to point some things out: you're cute and i liked your reactions a lot, since you, unlike many reactors, seens connected deeply with the character, but i don't get why pausing every 3 seconds, specially in the songs, it just ruins your entire experience since you're breaking the flow and rhythm of the scenes and songs. I mean, i don't know everything, maybe you watch the episode again after uploading the video, but i think it would be better for yourself and us if you reduced the amount of pauses, i know it's hard to keep a track of things you want to say through the reaction and you may forget things, but maybe an note book to point things while watching or take half of the video to only talk about the episode. I'm not saying all this out of bad ill, just trying to give some friendly advice for you to get a better enjoyment of the show and to not unsettle some viewers who might hate on you because of things like this, people can be cruel sometimes. I also rewind and rewatch the eps for my own personal enjoyment, so the video can be my truthful first reaction, since I enjoy watching other people do blind reactions too and it’s really fun! But yeah, I actually really do have to pause and cut and edit just for RU-vid reasons.
