My own theory about the contrast between Queen B and Tex being an OK couple vs Stolas and Blitzø not, is status/expectations. Stolas is a Goetia who seem to be like very much classic nobility. It's simply not alright for them to be so friendly with the lowest of the low class. Whereas Queen B, while yes she's one of the 7 sins, I also feel like she's often viewed like "Oh yeah that's Bee she's just a wild party girl". No one has any expectations of her being regal and proper so the idea of her being with a hell hound just isn't really a big deal
I love how Loona was absolutely ready to throw down with one of the Seven Sins, a giant hound-bee monstrosity fifteen times her size, and only backed down once she noticed that her attitude made Tex uncomfortable.
I love this depiction of Gluttony because it show that gluttony is actually about overindulgence. Depicting it as a big fat guy is showing the consequence of gluttony, but doesn't make it enticing. Also overindulging in alcohol is far more common than food but is not usually thought of as a gluttonous act. Showing her as a super party girl shows the "fun" side of gluttony, which of course, she wants to promote.
An interesting detail I saw someone point out once, Bee actually changes in size several times throughout the episode, and not just when she gets "spicy" but also when she first meets Loona, she actually appears to shrink down in stature to the same height as her. Some interpreted this as Bee basically doing it out of respect, cause she likes Loona, basically 'getting on her level' as it were.
No need to feel so self conscious about adding your own insights. There are alot of channels reviewing this material and it makes yours stand out in a way that is uniquely your own. It is exactly what I (and I assume other viewers) are looking for.
Because of all the legal drama, Ke$ha couldn't actually perform the song "Cotton Candy", although she did write it and do the speaking voice. Instead, Rochelle Diamante absolutely nailed an imitation of Ke$ha.

Another about Gluttony having Hellhounds as its native population is that in Dante's Inferno, the gluttons not only suffer laying in mud and being hit by this costant rain, but are also mauled by Cerberus, the three-headed dog from Greek mythology, which guards the third Circle.
19:05 As someone who is similiar (in that regard) to Loona, someone who also mostly just stands alone in a corner at partys, i can kind of explain. the problem if you are insecure and kind of a loner is that it is not only hard to let loose or open up, but also that past mistakes scar you (like the picture of loonas past behavior that the mean girled showed) and these Scars makes you suspicious of anyone who will approach you with overly friendlyness as you never know if that is not another attempt to be made fun of at your expense. additionally that distrust makes also makes one jealous of people who are really easy going and Extrovert, to the point that is even painful and your instincts tell you that even trying was a mistake and to just flee the scene to escape the hurt (as seen by Loona when she cried a little as she attempts to leave and call Blitz) and as an insult to injury there is also that she is still hang up on Tex, even thought he is taken. Her turn around on the other hand was a little to quick and unrealistic but probably there for story convinience. Thought that it helped and that she could better connect and open up when everyone cheered her "dad". that is realistic.
Re Loona's reaction, she's extremely insecure and is suspicious of someone like Bee trying to be friends. But the kicker was Tex's declaration of Queen Bee as his girlfriend. She was there for him, in hopes she had a shot. Once that was crushed, she wanted to leave.
I *LOVE* that you noticed and went into detail about the symbolism with Bee! I also really liked this show's version of Gluttony and the way they actually paid attention to the core of the sin rather than the symptoms that people sometimes focus on. And how they didn't make it just about food.
I always see Loona getting upset because she thinks that she doesn't fit in there. She knows that if she leaves no one would notice. So she's feeling really insecure. She feels out of place as well as the Tex and Bee stuff making her uncomfortable. Watching a crush flirt with their partner is hard to watch.

A lot of reactors are too busy jamming to the song to realize the lyrics have meaning. 😅 I also find it interesting that Bee wants them to indulge "properly", not as an escape mechanism like Blitz was.
I like that her insides are basically lava, just immediately burning up anything she consumes leaving her wanting more. And it’s always interesting to hear about the connections people make! In this case it’s probably intentional on Vivzie’s part, but also ones that aren’t intentional parallels can be interesting too.
The Goetia seem to be the ones who care about regal status the most, being power wise between the Sins and Overlords but having the responsibilities to manage the affairs of Hell properly while the Sins are treating Hell like a circus to have their fun, like demonic gods or celebrities vs the image obsessed Goetia. On another note there is a fan theory all but confirmed that each ring of Hell was home to a different species of Hellborn (or multiple) and the rings were originally separated but were linked fairly recently so the regular hellborn have forced a hierarchy with each other based on power and hybrids have been popping up as they interbreed.
I love Bee’s design so much. She basically the anti-Loona in every way. She an extrovert, whilst Loona is an introvert. She’s multicoloured whilst she’s monochromatic. So it makes sense why Loona would get upset and compare herself to her. Anyone would feel inadequate next to one of the Sins.
Glad to see that this episode made you feel a bit better. I just adore Bee's character, would love to see Charlie interact with her. Bet she would be her favorite "Aunt". Also looking forward to the next episode. It add a lot of "context" to a few characters.
While Hell has a hierarchical class system, how much people actually care about interclass mingling certainly seems to vary a lot between individuals, which feels true to life. A royal like Stella whose entire identity appears to be wrapped up in a sense of innate superiority to everyone else around her, including her peers like Stolas, of course is going to care a lot about any systemic enshrinement of that superiority. From the other direction, Blitz has a lot of resentment for the upper class out of a sense that they are looking down on him for being an imp (with his own self-loathing definitely being projected in there to some degree). But then the closest we've ever seen to say, Millie and Moxxie having any opinion on Blitz and Stolas' relationship is them looking smug at each other in the background when Blitz is fumbling to downplay said relationship to Striker. Asmodeus, for example, never actually attacked Blitz and Stolas for being a royal/imp pair -- "Are you sleeping with an imp?!" was Wally Wackford's interjection. Ozzie's angle (and what Stolas was consequently ashamed of) was that Stolas had betrayed his family to get laid: "You used to have a smoking wife, a kid, you had it all. I hope you didn't give it up, so you and him could get it up. You sold your life for a thrust!"
One thing we have to understand about Loona is that she is actually awkward and introverted. She might mask it forcefully as a hell hound but much of her issues are that she's awkward and doesn't know how to be.. Wait till she starts cheering her dad on and making nice friends.
I had no idea Crime and Punishment was mapped onto the Inferno like that, that's fascinating! Now I'm trying to think of other stories that map onto stories. Fairy tales, of course, and the Campbell stuff has been done to death, but what you described is something different. There was a snippet of information shared on the Patreon that said Bee is physically built so that she cannot feel full, her body burns the "honey" as fast as she makes it. And she makes it from her party attendees, I guess? Feeding off their energy and emotions? That makes me wonder if Asmodeus feeds off his audience members and that's why he runs a club, and why they were so insistent that sentimental romance is barred. Loona's been desperate for acceptance, so it's not too surprising that she did a 180 at a hint she might get it after all. She seems like a teenager to me in a lot of ways despite being 22. And I think she feels isolated and bored and useless at I.M.P. The drinking contest was with the same booze Verosika was drinking in "Spring Broken", that mutated the giant fish. yikes.

Idk the whole ordeal but what it sounded to me is Kesha’s manager was not wanting her to sing and so they were able to get an identical voice to do the singing parts. But before they had come up with a compromise, they just slapped finale onto episode 7, so that they could proceed with season 2. That also changed part 2 to be more of just a celebration episode. I still like to consider the episodes as episode 7 part 1 and part 2, considering they are about the 7 deadly sins or mentioned Asmodeous-Lust, Beelzebub-Gluttony, Belphegor-Sloth (talking about her party drugs) and Satan-Wrath (how hot he is without a shirt on)

I really hate this forced stuff we see to often, where they can't help but point out that a character is queer (or not white... looking at you Marvel TV Shows...) every 5 seconds.
So this is total fan theory territory and one shippers don't like. So Loona's reaction to Bee'lzebub as super awkward and defensive might be more than just because of Tex, and Bee's attitude towards her especially as she seems to come down off the high she had at the start might be because Bee might be her biological mother. So the adoption papers has Bee's signature on it...which stands out more in season 2 with the altered document seen in a background shot. This same theory has suggested Sourcream wasn't an insult but Loona's birth name. There are additional theories as to why Loona would have been put up for adoption and passed around different families ranging from teaching her how awful hellhounds have it , to Bee is just high most of the time and didn't realize how bad the adoption system was or know that a governor/governess she sent Loona to legally bad dumped her in the system, among others. Loona's past either way is a mystery a d Bee's signature on her adoption papers is cause for other fan theories... although personally find it weird she would sign every adoption paper just because Hellhounds come from Gluttony, it's like thinking Satan must sign all adoption papers for every imp put up for adoption.
