90 miles over 5 days wild camping from Saltaire to Appleby with the Trekkertent Stealth 1 and the Atom Packs Atom+ 40l lighterpack.com/r/7879e9?fbcl...
Wife and I have been sectioning it (we live in Saltaire, so easy enough to end a section at one of the stations). The path off Ingleborough was closed for repairs when we did that bit, was proper grim coming down the diversion. Just got Ribblehead to Appleby left to do now, 3 days for us though. Just been looking at the 1.5 version of that tent, I like the modularity of it: seems like a decent value slingfin splitwing.
Carry a couple of mint teabags, they help overcome nausea and ease iffy guts. Howzabout a really good review, no holds barred on the tent and the rucksack. I have a stealth 1 but only use it in Tarp mode now. Did you know that you don't actually need to separate the inner from the outer. They can be packed away together. I love mine, except for that centre pole that gets right in the way. I'm thinking of carrying another pole for the rear and using the other two as an "A" frame at the front.
So light and disappears to nothing in your pack. Need to lift the fly to reduce condensation and I found it slightly too small. Others love it but I have now bought a 1.5 which I personally prefer (see my latest video and my next one coming soon…)
Hi - thanks for the comment! Yes the inner is taught enough if you pitch the outer correctly! I have also shortened the cord to the top toggles to make sure it’s tight. If I was buying it again I’d get the 1.5 for a little extra space at the sides and top.
Hi there thanks very much - it really is a great walk. I’m using the stealth 1 but tbh unless weight is top priority I’d get the 1.5 as although everything fits in this one (including pack at head or feet if you’re under 6ft) it is a squeeze and you can find yourself accidentally rolling into the sides when you’re asleep and getting covered in condensation (which is what happened to me on night 2!). I reckon the extra elbow and head room is worth the slight weight penalty of the 1.5
Thanks for such a quick and helpful response - really good insight. Is condensation an issue with this tent? I was hoping the double wall construction would make this a better option for avoiding condensation than my current single wall gossamer gear The One.
@@nickspindler970 I’ve yet to find a tent that doesn’t! This has an optional low end door which is great for airflow but on that trip I was freezing so kept everything zipped up which will have made it worse. The double wall doesn’t really stop it from what I can tell, just puts a barrier between you and it!
Nice film. You had me in stiches when you drank this porridge- tea 😁😁😁 Was it really ok? It was very interesting to watch the end part as I want to finish off my Ribble Way walk soon. Will be in the same-ish area. Enjoyed your vid very much :)
