I absolutely love this video! I'm the first guy to start going to a Paul Mitchell school and the ONLY Paul Mitchell school in Trinidad and Tobago. I'm here on my 8th week and I've been enjoying every moment of it. I was and client for more than and year and now a student ❤ #LiveBeautifully
Honestly hearing that another person worried about not fitting in means A LOT, I play video games and like nerdy and geeky stuff and hangout with pretty much only boys and am always afraid people might not like me. I went to a college university for a few weeks before realizing that going to school to major in biology wasn't for me and then dropped out to pursue makeup.
Thanks so much for sharing this video!! I am attending PMTS here in Honolulu, HI... This video just gave me an uplifting feeling of why I want to be here! Thank you!
This was by far the BEST cosmo video I’ve seen!!! Everyone was so sweet and thank you so much for those questions and for everyone’s answers! So good!!
Loved this video! I toured a Paul Mitchell school in my area & the whole atmosphere made me feel right at home. I always thought teaching children was my passion but the more I looked into cosmetology the more intrested & passionate I became. Will possibly be going there in January if everything works out :)
I am so surprised I missed your videos. I am enrolled in PMTS September of this year. I do a vlog myself specifically about natural hair and I definitely wanted to incorporate my hair school experience into it and your video definitely sparked ideas. Aside from that I wanted to say good luck in all your endeavors, your determination definitely shows and has made me even more excited to work in this industry :)
Thank you so much for this. I'm going to Paul Mitchell Murfreesboro next year and I couldn't be more excited! I was a bit worried I may not fit in since I struggle with anxiety and I do a lot more makeup than hair, but after seeing this I am 100% sold on going. I can't wait. :) xx
I was enrolled in the University of California, 4.0 GPA doing really good in my major but I wanna drop out & do beauty school now! This made me more excited!!
I so needed this I just applied and scared got accepted but I'm an older student like 46 so I'm afraid a little but in on my way I will do videos wish me luck guys xoxo 💙
Im legitimately in awe. I went to paul mitchell as well but its NOWHERE NEAR as nice as this one or as big. My experience was a shitshow disaster. I dropped back in may because of financial problems and because the environment was absolutely draining to my mental state. Petty grown women acting like highschool girls but I’m glad everyone else had a nice experience.
i love this video ! I have a question tho. By doing the Cosmetology would that involve make up as well or would I have to pay more to learn make up as well?
They teach a little in makeup but they won't go in depth. If you want to learn more I would look into their makeup program or look into the best makeup school around you
Hi breana! I'm not sure if you'll see this but in interested in this school and I know I don't want to take out any loans. Would you happen to know if I did a payment plan how much would it be per month?
No there's no orientation. One the first day of school you should have a welcoming meeting and eat breakfast with your new class, but that's about it :)
I would love to go to this school but I noticed they didnt have a nail room & I would like to know if they teach nails there so I can inroll or not can someone please answer my question thank you
I can't wait to go to Paul Mitchell esani at September ... So much motivation when I keep watching RU-vid and searching the Paul Mitchell site to find out more information . Can I ask... If I'm not born in US and English is not my first language, you think this program is hard for me?
My step mom is from Japan & she went to cosmetology school when she was fairly new to the us & she told me it was tricky for her to understand everything, but she got through it. She is a hair stylist to this day 😊 I would definitely take a tour of the school nearest to you to get more information.
candy yu im moving from Germany to the USA in decemeber this year and im so excited and already planend on joining the pm school in my husbands hometown (hes american) :) Little bist anxious aus well since english ist my First language. Hope the customers will understand me lmao
Hi Cody, I'm from Germany too and I tried to contact you on your channel but it's not working. Did you end up attending PMTS? If yes, I would have some questions. Maybe we could write through e-mail? I really hope that you see this message. (@breana sorry for using the comment section like this!)
im suppose to be starting in march at the school of modesto. but i still have to get the financial aid dealt with. what is some advice you have as far as just the learning aspect? is it easy or difficult?
The first 6-8 weeks you're going to go through "core" where you learn the basics of all haircuts, perms, braids, color, and skin care. It wasn't easy for me since I had never cut hair or anything, BUT it wasn't hard. It was just something new to me & I caught on pretty fast. Even when you get on the floor, you will have learning leaders to help you with clients if you get stuck :)
Thank you for the advice! Watching this video helped me realize that paul mitchell is the school for me. For the last few weeks I was having a lot of doubts about if cosmetology is what I want to go into. I've known for years that I wanted a career with makeup and hair but for some reason I lost my passion and drive for wanting to go to school. Thank you for making me realize why I wanted to go in the first place.
My school wasn't that strict but it's wise to not get your nails done all the time cause my nails got ruined from all the chemicals and dyes every day. Also long nails make it hard to do hair 😕
It takes about three months longer than the full time program. My advice to you is if you aren't planning on working while going to school, do the full time program and get out sooner. I wish I didn't have to work while going to school.
A big NO. Lol trust me the first day of school you will find at least ONE friend if not more that you'll gravitate to. Everyone is super shy the first week so don't worry about that part.
I would say watch a lot of videos on cutting hair and coloring techniques. You can buy a doll head to practice on on Amazon.com I wish I would have practiced more before I started school lol. 😊
Hi , i am actually thinking of going to paul mitchelle after i graduate this year in may .. thank you for this vedio it looks like you love it , my passion is make up and i would like to know how much makeup you actually do at this school under the cosmetology course..?
That's great! I really do enjoy my school it's a lot of fun when you focus and stay on track. I love all of the opportunities they give us. It's definitely not the average beauty school. I'm actually here for makeup as well! I decided to get my cosmetology license because a lot of companies here in California hire licensed makeup artists who can do hair and makeup. So I would definitely advise you to get into the cosmetology program and not just the makeup program. The program does focus on hair, but we do get a week a month of makeup classes. I'll be going to a makeup academy in LA once I graduate here to get advanced training in makeup 😊. I hope I helped lol (sorry for the long message)
Thank you so much ! As graduation gets closer i get more and more stressed out because i dont know what school is right for . some of them ar just supper expensive and dont even have financial aid . I will diffinatly be showing your vedio to my mother lol .. in that one week of make up do you actually learn alot of things as well ? And no its fine i appriate you taking your time of day to reply :)
+Yesenia Sosa if you're looking for a school to only learn makeup, then look for a good makeup school or take the makeup program . At my school we don't go in depth with makeup it's very basic, but that's because I'm in the cosmetology program. Good luck with your search I know it can be very stressful
Paul Mitchell looks like an amazing school and it's probably where I'll go after I graduate high school but do you have to be apart of any of the teams you talked about? Like are you required to be in one? Also I read online how Paul Mitchell isn't a good school because they teach you the "Paul Mitchell way" and not the way to pass state boards. She said she failed because she did it "Paul Mitchell way" and apparently it's wrong or that they don't teach right. That scares me because I really want to go to PM. Thank you in advance if you answer!
Hii thank you for watching :) one thing I like about my school is that we work with so many clients every day all day long. We get so much experience. Friends who have gone to other schools passed state board and that was it for them, they couldn't do hair or they were too scared because they didn't have enough practice on real people. We definitely learn state board at school. So far all the students I've known have passed. It's all on you if you study and pass. Not the school :)
Your school is nice and big my school just bought a previous hair school and is under construction and the building is really small and our core class is upstairs which you can imagine the kits are heavy also our school is located in the middle of no where where it’s close to a pizza place or a maverick
i went to the paul mitchell school in fayetteville arkansas, and its absolutely horrid, the way they treat people and the way the teachers treat students who arent favorites is unreal, i transferred from there to another school becuase of how they treat students who arent clickish or who arent favorites
If your school offers a program that offers cosmetology then yes, but if not then no you will have to wait until you graduate because they will ask for your diploma or a GED
Oh wow omg!! I dont know how i would do it! Especially with a 3 yr old toddler lol. But thank God its only for 3 days so youre able to work and generate income. How long is your program for? Mine is part time 6pm-10pm and is generally 15 months.
I know it's such long days, but I got used to it. I'm almost done in one month so that's what keeps me motivated :) but yes only going three days makes room for other things. I love it.
I had so meany problems trying to get it no this school..It saddens me but ..i waited too long for anyone to get back with me. i left messages and they would take so long to answer one questions they would never call me back. I even bought shirts .I GOT TIRED OF WAITING FOR OVER 6 MONTHS AND WENT TO OGLE SCHOOL in SAN ANTONIO LET ME SAY IM GLADE I DID..
When she said that she was afraid of not fitting in I have anxiety and I hopefully start in August and super scared because I had a bad experience in High School of not fitting in and recently when to the school and mostly only saw Caucasians blonde girls and don’t see much diverse and I would be the only tan black haired Hispanic
good song! :) I'm always looking for new songs to put on my videos. the problem is that most of the time the RU-vid team tells me about the copywriters and ask me to remove the song. :/
