@@KellieRaeBumblebee how many years do you take? And how many is a full conoletion ?

I believe we started with 5 but they have it strategically planned out what cuts you do on which doll heads and when, so it’s kind of hard to just cut one especially to practice men’s cutting, but I actually ordered a couple more that were a bit cheaper and had full synthetic hair so I could practice cutting on them 🤗

Hey girl! Good for you!! I do the 5 day because my school doesn’t offer the 3 day, but I believe it’s only about a month longer if you do the 3 day so it might be better to do that if you want to work part time. For me at least I know I’m exhausted after going to school full time for 5 days a week and I wouldn’t be able to work part time! But I’m sure you would be able to change your schedule down the line if you decide to switch over!

Hey! I’m not sure if I fully understand your question but I’ll try to answer it! After you spend 6 weeks in the classroom with doll heads, you have to take a practical test so you bring in a model, just like a friend or a parent, and you hav to do certain things on them with like fake product, like conditioner instead of color, just to make sure you know how to do stuff on real people, and you do have to do a men’s haircut with the help of the learning leaders in order to pass and go onto the floor... after that you start taking clients but you always have the help of the learning leaders so you never have to figure out how to do something on your own especially if you’ve never done it... as far as not wanting to take clients, you don’t really get a choice to no take them if they are booked under you. You can actually get sent home if you refuse to take someone, but like I said you always have help and there’s really nothing to be scared of!

Yes you get tested on pretty much everything you learn in the classroom and must pass each test in order to get your license. But the teachers at Paul Mitchell are amazing and they will make sure you are ready for your test!

Hi!!! So happy you’re thinking about your future! The kits are included with the cost of school! They are basic and many students end up upgrading as they go along, like buying new clips, more curling irons etc. And yes they do teach makeup, skin, nails, and hair in the cosmetology program!

We do spend some time on makeup and there’s definitely opportunities to learn and practice makeup if you’re passionate about that but I would say we spend about 90% of our time intensely focused on hair so If you just want to do makeup that might not be the best choice, but I believe they have makeup courses at scone schools that only last a few weeks If you want to do that 🤗

Me too! Our teacher would dock us hours

In California it’s 1600 hours and we go for 35 hours per week so it ends up to be about a year depending on how many days you miss!
