A DAY AT THE MÖKKI 

Moi Dave✌🏼 just wanted to let you know that there are not exclusively Finns in your community: I am German - but in my heart I am Finnish as well and I spent a lot of time up there and lost my heart to this country. Because of corona I can't be there although I wanted to move to Finland in the long run. Your videos are incredibly wholesome - just like a little weekend trip that briefly satisfies my longing. The pictures, the editing, the music - just perfect or at least the perfect time out for me. I love your vlogs (and kinda need them haha). THANK YOU for making me feel so much happier today ☺️ Enjoy your weekend!

So frustrating when i'm trying to catch a big pike at my mökki and the biggest i get is 2kg and then i see this... Congrats.

It's perfect that this video has no agenda. That pretty much sums up the regular day or the point of being at mökki - no agenda, no stress, just let the day float by like that boat on the water. Unless there are some renovations underway, of course.

Yeah, pikes that size aren't very delicious but man, that was huge.

My daughter & her husband & baby with another due next week, had there very own mokki weekend last week after 2.5 years in Helsinki. They loved it so much, particularly her husband. He had 4 areas he could light a fire! They’ve booked another mokki for next month. Cheers from 🇦🇺

Just a small fish handling lesson. If you want to release a fish, keep the handling to a bare minimum. You can grab a pike by the gill cover like that but be careful not to touch the gills as they're fragile. Also dangling a big fish in the air with one hand is not optimal, you can cause spine damage because fish spines aren't really built to support the weight of the fish like that. That being said, I don't think you did too many mistakes here but I just wanted to let you know (if you didn't already). Also, if you keep catching fish like that, consider getting a larger net. :D Love your work, cheers!

That was one beautiful "hauki"... so glad to see that there are still some around and that you put it back. Was often out on the waters as a young boy with my father. Pulling fish out of a hole in the ice during winter dusk in Finland was particularly magical for a five year old, many years ago. Thank you for helping me revisit those memories. PS ... and yes to a genuine old wooden row boat, not a bland plastic bucket.

1-3 kilogram pikes are the best to eat. I have a tip for you: don't hold pikes vertically in air, because that doesn't do good for them. Always horizontally. That was a big pike, congrats from your PB

I love vlogs like these and I think that they are important because your audience gets to know you better! You could film a channel full of - say, Taste test tuesday - which could be fun, but the viewers wouldn't get to know you as a person without a specific context. I think these kind of videos are the ones which build youtuber's brand and relevance as a whole. Great video, all the best to you and your sweet family!

Very nice pike dude! If you are into fishing more then I strongly recommend to try it in Autumn/Fall evening or night with a lamp also known here as "Tuulastus". It is quite fascinating experience to see fish coming to wonder the light of the lamp. Tuulastus is a rare activity nowadays, however, in my opinion it is worth for it at least once in a lifetime if you really love fishing :)

Leo is so cute saying something like "ni". I am quiet sure in my homecountry babies would hardly ever say that so clearly because "ni" is not a thing here. And caused by that I was wondering what his first sentence gonna be like - which language it will be or whether he might mix all languages up. That would be adorable.

Awesome vlog, such a pro filming and editing! Looks like you have a film crew with you, I guess you can do lots with drones and such and edits, if you know what you are doing! Keep up the good work broski!

You should get a small electronic motor for that boat. You would get rid of all that engine noise and could just hear the sea, nature and wind. And it doens´t drive fish away. Since their not that expensive I´m sure you could get a great deal fro a dealer for video cooperation.

Oh, my, this brings me memories! I've been to my ex's family's summerhouse and it was *amazing*. One of my most favorite experiences. You should definitely do geo treasure hunt (I think it's called in Finnish aarteenetsintä - haven't heard the word(s) for that in Finnish) - it's really fun! Especially with places you haven't explored in your summerhouse's lake area.

It's funny as hell as it is, but turn on the auto-generated English subtitles, and you are going to die - but laughing. I just watched it and I almost died, because I was not able to breath from my laughing. I've only laughed like that a couple of times in my whole life. I hope I didn't wake up my neighbours. You need to have a liscence for fishing If you hang The rod out or just throw it but If you fish with the red floating thing and theres a worm swimming under the surface then you don't need a liscence, you can buy a liscence for whole year with 45€ on every lake but The liscence ends when it's 1.1.2021 no matter If you bought it on 1.1.2020 or 30.12.2020

Nice to see that you realy can handle the fish also after catching it and made dinner out of it. You could do also videos how to handle the fish after you get in shore and take the guts out, make file out of it and cook it. Just like those couple baking challenges in finnish language but just how to prepare everything and how you prefer cooking fish. By the way the dish looked delisious 😃. There could be few videos with same tema how to use Finnish nature as your provider. Just as an idea if it is hard to get idea what you could do theres at least one. There has been much of time to do things at home becouse it isn´t very safe to go alot round becouse the corona. So i spend lot of time to improve my own cooking skills and learned to cook chinese take away style of dishes when restaurants weren´t open and expanded alot more my other cooking skills too.

You can also put some fish meat to freezer, and that way save it for later. Fish stays as fresh in freezer, 2-4 weeks. And raw frozen fish should not be salted.
