Oliver... I envy you guys so much. You e got a few good fans out their.. inspiring and great as usual. Cant wait until next year.. it's a need not a want to see the Alps on a bike.. ride safe and keep well buddy.. kind wishes Peter
Thanks so much!! Good thing I recorded so many of the rides last year as I do not know how far we can travel this year. However, there will some Offroads Event closer to home coming up ;-) AND I have a nice video edit coming up from the mid range mountain regions 200-250 km south of Berlin - I did this trip last weekend ;-) stay safe! cheers
Wow dude! Love your videos. You can ride! Great scenery. I'm Currently riding a Ninja 1000sx. Before that had R1250GS. You've got me seriously thinking about a KTM SAS!
David Staples thank you very much David. If you were riding a sports bike and liked the GS the KTM may be something for you. Combines both worlds really well. Maybe take the 1290 SAS for an extended test ride 😎🤙. I did and you know how it turned out 😂
Junge Junge..Hammer Video!
@@paulogomes9011 excellent - what a dream to live right in the middle of the Alps - next videos wil be the French Alps - part 1 is coming up next Friday. 😎
How difficult it is for a Californian Cowboy, like me, to understand the German language, thank's God the international language is English and thanks for making the videos in English ;)
@@jorgemartbeck7617 Thank you so much David. I have had some German viewers that would prefer these videos in German but thanks to you and others more than 80% of viewers are non-German speaking so that is why I keep it to English for now - many Germans understand English well enough. Nice and exciting to know that the videos are watched all over the world. cheers!
@@MotoVibes Ich schaue mir all deine Videos an. Echt cool. Seit heuer habe ich auch die 1290er. Schau mal vorbei auf meinem Kanal. Es kommen laufend Rides dazu
I really like your channel, it has very good quality video, audio and very practical content, but I have a question ... Knowing your driving style, a DUCATI MULTISTRADA 1260 S (or Pikes Peak) or a BMW S1000 XR would not be better ? And what do you think of the CONTI TRAIL ATTACK 2 and 3 tires?
Thank you David. The Ducati Multistrada (the 1200) was actually the first "adventure" bike that I ever (test) rode - I still called a Harley Davidson Big Twin my own at the time believe it or not ;-) So, I was still warming up to this category of motorcycles - I also test rode the BMW R 1200 GS and ended up buying and owning the BMW for 2 years. Somehow the BMW felt better overall - max power and sportiness was not as high of a priority as it is now - also I was never really sold on the design of the Ducati even though it was fun to ride. Fast forward a year and this is when KTM announced this 1290 SAS - I really liked the aggressive styling and the raw power of the bike. The Ducati was not even a contender anymore. 2 years after buying the BMW I traded it for my current KTM 1290 SAS. Now, the S1000XR is a bike I would like to try out some time - just for the fun of it. It definitly is designed with a much stronger street focus. Two years ago the Offroad option of the KTM was just nice bonus - now I am glad to have it as it opens up a new riding experience for me (where I still have a steep learning curve ahead of me ).
Ok tires: The CTA2 and CTA3 are in the same category as the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 - marketed as 90/10 tires. Other people that are more scientific about testing these tires ( Germans are nuts about testing everything ;-) ) ranked all three tires really high within their category. I have no direct experience with the CTA2 or the CTA3. I can only offer my experience between the CRA3 and the STR2 which I did in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UdLMEIycxRw.html If it is between the CTA2 and the CTA3 I would get the lasted version - tire development seems to progress really fast these days.
@@MotoVibes Apparently in 2021 KTM will launch the new model of the SAS and SAR, I have seen some photos and you can see several changes, a different sub chassis and headlight, for me it is an excellent bike, at the time I will decide if I I buy the SAR or the SAS. I recommend a video on RU-vid, very funny and where you can see the tremendous On / Off Road potential of these bikes "ESSAI KTM 1190 ADVENTURE UNE VRAIE MOTO D 'ADVENTURIER
@@jorgemartbeck7617 I love that channel and I did not know this video - these French guys definitly know how to present and review a bike with lots of humor. The bike will not hold me back for sure - my skills will ;-)
