Yeah no disrespect to her, I work for an agency that has a great pay scale and part of what makes that possible is the fact that the company spends no money on marketing which means we go out and hunt for new leads and generate new clients completely on our own. My life would be much easier if I had a call sheet but the pay and quality of the business would not be the same.
Commercial insurance is very complex, for a reason. I am a commercial high risk E&S underwriter who works for an MGA. It’s very typical to compare forms and look for any new forms added. This should be addressed when sent to the agent but comparing the forms is VERY important. Make sure you understand the general guidelines of how the risk is rated because they can and do change.
Miguel-there isn't really an average-because it depends on a number of factors. An account manger, who primarily services, and does not bring in new business as a primary function, would get paid less than a full blown commercial insurance producer, who's primary focus is to develop and maintain new relationships. it also depends heavily on the location of the person.
