Hi everyone. I am a Mechatronics Engineering student at the University of Siegen. Currently I am doing an internship at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and decided to make a video on how a day looks like here.
I really enjoyed making this video. Let me know if you would love to watch more videos like this.

brother, Do you work with physical things in mechatronics engineering jobs? what did you learn in your college and is it hard to study mechatronics? I like building things so which engineering will match me? hope to hear from you soon.

Hi bro, I think Mechatronics Engineering will absolutely suit you. There are lot of stuffs about physical hardware(microcontroller, fpga, etc) and software (Matlab, Python, ROS) that is to be learned in this branch. In my current job, I will be actually running my code in a target hardware using Speedgoat (kind of a high power computer), about which I am very excited. Apart from that, working with physical things like motors, gears, propeller, aircraft prototype etc. would be a part of the job.
@kibakibiunplanned5196
@kibakibiunplanned5196 Год назад
This branch is also good, if you don't know now in which field (automobile, aerospace, robotics, etc. ) you wanna work exactly. The things you would learn will be applied in almost all industries.
@kibakibiunplanned5196
@kibakibiunplanned5196 Год назад
About the study, I won't lie, it was hard at the beginning. There were subjects from electrical, mechanical and software branches. But with time, things fall into places and gets interesting. Let me know if you want to know the exact curriculum of course. I will share it with you.
@mente5731

@@kibakibiunplanned5196 I would love to know about the course. Questions Which university do you think will help me in becoming a mechatronic engineer? How much is the salary of a mechatronic engineer? I am thinking of studying in Germany but I haven't decided yet.

I see you using matlab in the video and elsewhere saying Python Matlab and C/C++ are pretty fundamental to learn. Which language is your personal favorite and how much of each percentage wise do you use on a project? Cool video btw!
@kibakibiunplanned5196
@kibakibiunplanned5196 5 месяцев назад
Thanks! And nice observation. While doing the project, my Supervisor gave me the freedom to choose any language of my choice. I chose Matlab because I was good at it and also because later on I have to transfer my project to Simulink which can be done seamlessly using Matlab.
@kibakibiunplanned5196
@kibakibiunplanned5196 5 месяцев назад
Knowing any high level language (Python/Matlab) is fine for implementing any idea in software. But in the next process to actually implement it in hardware, you have to know either C or C++.
@kibakibiunplanned5196
@kibakibiunplanned5196 5 месяцев назад
My personal favorite is Python, because its open source, lots of add ons libraries available, and have a big community.
@SM_757
@SM_757 5 месяцев назад
@@kibakibiunplanned5196 Awesome! I enjoy Matlab as well and used it with Simulink for my capstone project. I was debating whether to dedicate the time to learning C/C++ because I saw some jobs require it and was wondering why that is- but you answered it perfectly. Didn’t know the design engineers themselves embed the software. Thanks for sharing!
@kibakibiunplanned5196
@kibakibiunplanned5196 5 месяцев назад
@@SM_757 Welcome! As an engineer working with Matlab/Simulink, you will at one point be asked to do some tests of your design (mostly SiL and HiL test). And in that moment you have to know C/C++ (intermediate knowledge is fine). Matlab also has a package to generate C code automatically from your developed model.

Hi friend, may I ask what kind of skills are employers looking for in employees when they're applying for a job? And is german language a necessity or English is enough? Love your videos
@kibakibiunplanned5196
@kibakibiunplanned5196 5 месяцев назад
Hello there. Thanks :) The interviewer generally look for any kind or practical experiences gained in the respective field (either through projects, internships, thesis, or even better jobs). Proficiency in Programming is a must (Python/Matlab, C/C++). German language is always super helpful. With only English, the number of possible job position decreases comparatively. In pure IT job, just English is not a problem though.
