I don’t know if anyone can give me advice or anything but I 100% want to join the military but either corps or the army is pretty good at welding and I want to be a welder

I was in the marines and they don’t offer welding. Right now I’m a welder for a living and I’m trying to get back into the army. Allied trades is the only job I’ll take

I'm currently studying the ASVAB so I can join active duty to be part of the allied trade specialist. I've been welding already for about 5years plus. Any advice so I can take part of this?

you don't need a high score. I am pretty sure you will definitely get the job. I got 44 on asvab and have the job to choose.

@@benevolent2077 oh wow are you serious? Cause that's the only thing I've been worried about. I've seen where I need to make a 88 on one part and a 97 on another.

@@TXscratchlines I’m in AIT right now training to be a 91e and I only made a 63 on my asvab, as long as you have a high enough gt score and know how to assemble parts then you’ll be golden.

DO NOT DO IT. You will gain nothing from it. The base place to be stationed with this MOS is Fort Eustis, and it's been driven into the ground. Everyone is miserable and nobody does their jobs. They act as detail slaves instead. If your last name is high in the alphabet, good luck with your future. The unit was literally dissolved once before due to extremely poor talent management and conditions haven't improved whatsoever. All the people I went to AIT with had really bad outcomes, especially since most bases do have the equipment necessary to perform your MOS. Personally I was screwed out of my certifications because I was put in night classes, and was prevented from doing machining because Chief Wheeler is extremely toxic and he was the only person who gets to choose who gets to do their jobs straight out of AIT. Because of him I had no choice but to give up on my passion and talent for machining, and lose all of feelings of self-confidence and worth I had left. There is also no skill training or room for advancement. You will never have the opportunity to gain more certifications and recieve more training in your MOS. AIT is all you get. My entire time in the Army was a complete and utter waste. I gained no skills and experience in anything, and now if I want to continue in this career path I would have to go back to school. Seriously, if you want to learn welding choose a boat MOS. They will teach you those skills, and you will also gain additional certifications in the future. Since my unit was extremely toxic, the boaties recieved a ton of favortism and always got sent home early while we were overtasked. Or even better, don't join the Army. The Airforce and Coast Guard actually prioritizes job proficiency and will treat you way better. 99% of what Army soldiers do is actually BS labor.

I come from another country awaiting my green card when I do get it hoping I get this mos 91e as in the civilian world I don’t have a opportunity to go back to school to learn to weld hopefully this is the right choice for me
