This was two years ago, and I don't know if you changed your mind, but still. The thing is - you are not obligated to be a psychologist for the rest of your life. I know bunch of people who got undergraduate degree in psychology, philosophy etc. and became something different. For example, one guy became a sociocultural anthropologist, a very good one. Natalie Portman used her psychology knowledge to be even better actress, she even won an Oscar. The point is, whether you're going to be a psychologist after you graduate or not is only your business, and no one else's. You shouldn't feel quilt or shame, really. ☺

Im in the same quandary like you. I study psychology like you too, and I always say to myself that is the mistake of my life. But as you said that when you always have that "judgement" of yourself you always watch that video, Im in the same state but with the words of my proffesor because she always says that the psychology was not her dream profesion but with work everything aries and whenever i feel bad or trying to make myself guilty, I go back to my proffesor's words. Just keep going girl💖

OH my gosh! Could you do like a post about what you were working on in this video? I recently wrote a paper over savant abilities and their origin, and I would absolutely love to hear what you have found on the topic or your powerpoint... sorry if this is too nerdy and i would understand if you don't want to share that information, but here's one person that would be interested! Just found u and subbed btw

+Brooke Beck the essay was about the extent to which expertise is involved in savant syndrome . I focused on musical savants to scale it down and with the PowerPoint, I couldn't do exactly the same thing because we were told it had to be different from what was taught so I did mine on the idea that we all have savant skills but we can't access this info unlike savants who have access to lower level less processed info. The idea is that savant skills can be temporarily induced in healthy individuals. rtms is done over healthy individuals which temporarily causes left brain dysfunction ( left anterior temporal lobe) as it's said that savants have this left brain dysfunction. And so for example in some studies, healthy participants are asked to draw a dog and then rtms is applied and then the drawings become more detailed, complex and their scheme of a dog changed. In the end I basically said there are a lot of limitations and that the idea is very weak because it doesn't explain how some savants lose their abilities such as Nadia ( she was an amazing artist but lost her skills) so essentially the idea that we all have savant skills is not valid. Thanks for watching 😊

I didn’t do too well as far as gpa And extracurricular things when I got my bachelors. I had to work 40+ hours a week every year and now I feel like a masters program would be too far fetched for me since they want the best...
