Welsh pattern, that limbing axe and mix a bit of mustard (ratio to taste) with the mayo and put on Ham (Wiltshire) & Cheese (Cheddar or Harlsberg) live the dream lol :-)
7:53 Out kayaking, Helmut forgot his casque after paddling and left , I noticed went over to pick it up to see who it belonged to, inside he had printed his name - Helmut, his address and telephone number... even since that day when I see someone not wearing his or her protective head gear in a situation I deem proper I simply say " where is Helmut"?
It's a 30" gransfors throwing axe handle. It came with it when I bought it its not hung very well, I'm half expecting it to snap at the shoulder soon but its holding up surprisingly well. I've thinned it and given it a subtly octagon, which seems to help with the lack of palm swell on these throwing axe handles. I plan on making up something much nicer when it eventually gives up.
Ever Mustered Cattle or Sheep and Hit a stump on a Motorbike because the tree feller cut to low and tall summer grass or weeds obscured it?. Many have and been killed or seriously injured, that type of accident breaks necks . Ever Driven a Tractor on a farm and hit a stump cut low, torn the front end out ripped the sump off because was hidden from sight from Pastures. Many Have !. and worse been killed because it happened on a slope, rolled the Tractor and threw the Operator, crushing him/her. You will find the wise Farmer Leaves his stump about normal felling height, indicating the Danger's to his Workers and love ones other wise they are ticking time Bombs. We have Stumps on our Property Dating back to the 1940's red Iron Bark, grey Iron Bark, Red Gum, and very Grateful when the fellers went through they at least left the Stumps peering over the Native grass's to be seen by future Generations. Would be nothing worse than Losing a Grand son/daughter on his first Motorbike because the tree Feller wanted another 2 feet of Timber, or a Worker n being sued by their family. Other reason tree fellers Don't fell a Tree at or near the Base, is When trees Grow they carry rocks, dirt in there bark and crevices up the trunk a couple feet, and putting a back cut in and your chain starts to go blunt or cuts off/ course, can be serious. So is a Safety Reason again. The Amount of times i have had a silent Prayer of thanks to the unknown Old timer after spotting a Stump on a fast moving bike having enough time to avoid whilst Mustering brings shivers down my spine. The Only reason i commented was to make un aware People aware - if i can save one life out there and stop much suffering and grieving was worth the 3 minutes.. taken to type this Message.
