UPDATE on Morris: Morris was arrested for a firearm offense in April, 2022. He pled guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and was sentenced to 24 months in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release.

As a young 19 year old myself, it's very very sad seeing kids getting themselves locked up at such very young ages when they have way too much ahead of themselves for their lives...

Those parents seem like some squared away parents. I feel like they’re very genuine and caring.

Kids need to open up and share their emotions. I wish I would have opened up more when I was younger

The first mom touch my spirit from the time she start talking she really care about her boy unconditionally makes me wanna be the best dad I can be to my boy I hope her kid got his life together

I feel so bad I put my parents through this time & time again. I don’t miss feeling so alone & afraid watching my parents leave after visitation knowing they’re going home without me for awhile. Hearing the cell doors lock & being alone in your cell for the night, forced to think about all the wrong decisions you made that led you there. I’m so glad those days are over & I hope my kids don’t ever do this to themselves :(

It’s always heartbreaking to watch teenagers being incarcerated especially when some reoffend and spend most of their lives in prison, then a glimmer of hope and joy when some actually turn their lives around and become useful members of society.

Man that phone call he made to his mom in intake at the beginning of the video reminded me of my childhood. My mom was always the same, never surprised I was in there but was always supportive and showed up to all my court dates and visits. I damn near grew up in there from age of 13 to 18 got out 4 months before I was an adult

I’m 17 now but from when I was 13-16 I was in and out of lockups and juvenile centers. Definitely missed out a lot of my childhood

How did you get into prison documentaries? These really open up our eyes to what these kids go through. I’ve been in a women’s prison as a volunteer and mentor a few times and I’ve toured the yard and cells with my church staff years ago and it changed me. It felt so isolating and I was only there a few hours.

Sitting in that dark sell all night not knowing what time it is or when it’s gonna be morning is the worst, 5 hours in that cell feels like a lifetime.

seeing my family from behind a screen and not being able to touch them was the worst experience of my life once i got out i changed everything may everyone find peace and harmony bro i cant imagine how these parents must feel seeing their young ones shackled and ruined like this

Me as a mother it breaks my heart we do everything we can to protect our children and hope that they make the right choices in life and be a leader not a follower

My mom actually works at the juvenile prison nd we spend a lot of time talking bout them kidz she one that care nd wanna see them boys do right but it be the lack of love and guidance and the wanting to fit in makes them crash out with no care it’s sad to be that young with that kind of mind set

this shit makes me shead a tear. i remember being there same age 13/15 in n out of juvie doing dumb shit im 21 now & i just look at this video these guys got a solid ass mom at home just like i did genuinely loves you wants the best for you but we get so caught up in the mind of evil doing the worse to humanity possible. it takes a serious event to really change a person & many do not realize that until it is far too late & their either dead is in prison. so much goes on in this evil world but we need to be a vessel to the youth & persevere& keep going

I don't know how old is this young man right now but if you can hear me it's easy to get in trouble but it's hard to get out and our families messed us the most but really hurts is when we get locked up we start remembering the past and what we've been through and where we are right now that's reason why I'm by myself right now I don't want to be around nobody cuz I can't get myself in trouble by myself

Sad thing is I went thru this from 11-18 . My first placement my mom sent me there at 11 for staying out for how ever long I wanted and then coming home when I felt like it. She got tired of worrying and letting me manipulate and do why I wanted so I dealt with the consequences . I did 9 months in Hoffman homes cried on the phone becuz I wanted to be home . Honestly I would work there and help kids that place was stupid sweet . No lock doors open campus girls . Nice staff games stuff to do it was a old orphanage and really meant for kids who didn’t have anybody so I came home acted a fool somehow . Remember missing school a lot and just running the streets like a junkie and then getting fines and getting sent to placement from children and youth and probation shit was nutty . I went to another placement came home did drug court because I kept getting dirty drug screens . Get sent to placement come home now it’s all judges discretion . I’m like 15 now come home act mature try not to smoke . Time goes by I just start doing whatever . No structure not listening to anybody just a complete peon. Thinking people are my friends and we are benefitting from dum shit . I get involved in a crime that I’m the main suspect because I was the one who got charged and did juvenile time for it while the person was with me didn’t do a day of time we sat at the station for hours in separate cold ass cells while I never seen him after they separated us I just no I get a notice that my parents were their to see me my dad was fresh home heavily involved in all 4 of his kids life and I was the one never home now as I used to wish he would come home after a 10 year sentence . So I’m in station they talk I listen I get sent to a place in Pittsburg called summit . At this time it’s not confinement really it’s open campus but the places are getting more savage the kids are their for different crimes everybody is built different it’s like a lot of tension in this place about 200-300 people in a old monastery and that was the first time as a juvenile I was like damn I can get fucked up bad in this joint I gotta move properly because it’s ghetto like a poor People owned it but they didn’t it was a rich white man who hired all ex convicts and people who can relate to kids or fuck em up so long story short for this place i never had trouble in their until I got a failure to adjust and I got kicked out that place for being a clown I got tired of the weirdo teacher that looked like Sid from ice age was in my face making jokes n said he farted in my face . Idk y I snapped I just shoved him over a. Desk n might hit him with the text book but I felt bad because he had lisp and looked hella slow n then it made people laugh n I felt fake cool . But when I was held accountable for the situation I realized it was over for me . I got transferred to another organization by this time I’m 16-17 probably just turned 17 so I’m like fuck my time restarted again the judges and attorney and caseworkers do all the paperwork they get me transferred to Loysville and as I’m speaking I missed a place but who cares this whole shit is dum long I’m just writing it BECAUSE I know somebody is going to read it but anyways I’m in loysville In Pennsylvania. Not to far from hometown so I got a few visits but that place was lock down who campus surrounded by huge ass fence with barber wire and you need to have badges and shit to get through doors . Shit was a good facility though they cared lowKey and got us into doing PHYSICAL TRAINING AND INTRAMURALS . I could just go for days . Shit don’t stop . So I get out and I’m cool I fuck up and I must’ve been on the run from warrants or fines I forget it’s been like 7 years since . I’m 23 so yeah then I go to Glen mills and come home shits been ass as a teen wish I could go back

I used to work with the Department of Juvenile Justice and the system is a pipeline to adult prison. Most kids have no support in there or once they get released.

Listen I was a troubled teen and I ended up going to jail jail at 17….that one experience turned my life right around! Now that I have children of my own I make sure my boys don’t go down this path in their adolescence and adulthood….this shit ain’t no joke at all!

According to documents in the case, on September 10, 2020, Officers responded to a shots fired call in East Chicago and encountered Burdette at the scene. While possessing a firearm, Burdette fled from law enforcement, and was arrested as he attempted to throw the firearm over a fence. According to his criminal history, Burdette had a prior felony conviction for robbery, making his possession of a firearm or ammunition illegal.

I remember going through this for 4 years as a juvenile 😢

I've been through the same process in 1993 now on 43 years old that's why I keep myself from stuff that's going to get me in trouble

It’s easy wake up either walk to school or go to school get a game system and weights. Work out play the game and stay up to date with all the home work quizzes and tests. Your life will be like a snail but once you practice those things and don’t let people/friends control or contribute on how you act everyday you will break away from the category they want to place us in.

Wow... Far as I went was Cook County Jail back in 99 @ 17 years old and I must say that was all I needed to see and the sad part is some individuals can't seem to stay out of jail or prison, they haves wives and kids and still can't find anything better to do but find they're way to that place. Not judging anyone but at some point you have to say... Take a shower alone or with my woman or take one with with two guys name Jamal & Jesus... I love my freedom and that short County jail stint opened my eyes especially if it can be avoided avoid it. These young men don't have any self control just having a ounce of self control a allow you to be free or alive another day

when I was 15 I got locked up for 3 years because I was driving without a license and ran from cops. on my 2nd year I was denied a chance to be bailed out with 6 months left in jail I was sent to prison as I was a legal adult and I was denied parole and got a chance to go on house arrest. honestly that was the worst 3 years of my life so moral of the story don't get locked up

I been to prison and juvenile hall… its hard until i decided to change my life and think of what i was doing. At this age u grown… if u reading this and u out.. leave that life behind find a wife, a purpose and think about your future! and hangout with just anybody

Wow I just seen the link posted at the bottom he is a product of his environment I am 24 and and caught my first felony case a 23 and regret it luckily I was never in the mix to bad…. it was a ccw case but got it down to a misdemeanor I’m from Detroit Michigan I will never want to see jail again I grew up in a decent home but made my own wrong turns I don’t blame no one or fault anyone my mom was a single mother and did what she could but guidance in a male life really does play a part cause what we think is taking care of home is foolishness to a certain extent so it took for me to bump my head at 23 after my other mishaps to realize I was headed down the wrong path but I’m so thankful for life I really hope all my young men black or white get the guidance they need to head down the right path and push the youth for better it’s never to late until you let it be but bless you all and bless all single mothers

Worst part is just knowing you are away from your family and you are young...mind not developed just young and not caring so when you are in there its like......damn ok when am i going home or damn whats next kind of thing i cant really explain it you just have had to be in there to be able to understand the feeling. I punch holes in the walls too and I have mental problems anger problems etc. So I know his pain & struggle. You've got this kid. Try getting on meds. I just got back on my meds again and they were helping. I would just quit them when I would have my anger issues come whenever that is. And then I would just not keep taking them afterwards. Just take from my advice, too take meds!! They help me. When I take them everyday that is. But they do help!! I promise. And please don't stop taking them either. Because like I said they work if I kept taking them everyday! 👏✌️💯 POV my mental problems aren't curable though. They can't or don't have a cure for my kinda situation and mental problems and whatnot.
