In this episode of VHTV me and Davy go for a shoot with the ladies and gents from Tony Wall's club when they go to their sister club in Derby. What a great day out. Si and Davy.
I have tried several times over the years to get an airgun club going. The simple fact here in the states is that airguns are seen as child's toys by most. Something you started with when you were 7 or 8, then at 11 or 12 you got your first hunting rifle. I went another route, I started shooting air rifles for competition in grade school (literally, we shot then during lunch in the gym). Once in high school I tried for the national air rifle team before graduation and leaving for the Army. I've lost count how many times I took a firearm out of a soldiers hands and replaced it with an air rifle. Teaching the basics without the thought of a recoil or muzzle blast is far more productive (and far cheaper) with an air rifle. Hard to hit a 1000 meter target when you fear the blast. I just wish we Americans would have made air guns as large a sport as you have. Keep the videos coming. Nate from Texas
Another fine input lads, SFT is good fun, back to the roots of the sporting airgun. Been to that ground on a few occasions for comps and just for fun and really enjoyed the place. Well done to all. atb phil
Love the video, I live in the states and we don't have anything that nice where I am. I think its great that you have so many friends to shoot with and have such a grand time doing it. Please keep up the nice videos I always look forward to seeing the next one. Thanks
Great friendly competition, thank you . The footage is real nice, and you explained everything so nicely. Also nice to see all those different air rifles. I must say shooting that well, in that wind is not easy. It's funny, how much one learns watching you guys. I will be honest and say, the Bull pupped S200AA 12 ft lbs. 1.77 I've using up north of California, has been an incredible experience! While FPS over powered air guns are more popular, I understand accuracy, over velocity/power now.
Top clubhouse. Top rifles. Top shooting. Good banter. Thanks for sharing you're day out. Really enjoyed watching. Loving Davy's tash. Its MOvember soon. Gonna use Davy as my model.
We are very happy with SFS and will keep using them for all our shooting needs. Tony does a great job and whats more he cares about his customers. Great shop and great team working there.
now that looked like fun! I had friends to airgun with but I moved away 15yrs ago .I sure miss those days shooting all day and cooking out ,think about it all the time!
At the end of the day we are all shooters and seeing whats out there is great for our sport. Speaking to Tony Wall on many occasions and John I know they highly rate the likes of Steve Pope, Dave Welham and Dave Hall for their work, they also know each other and are friends if not acquaintances. Lets stop being silly and get on with the sport. I really hope that someone starts a channel showing other stuff from the names above. Great guys and all tuning masters and legends in their own right
Brill vid Si thanks for posting, Been watching your vids for a while now and they have spurred me onto having a comeback as they say to air rifle shooting. Having spent the last 15 years or so coaching Army Cadets and shooting for my county at Fullbore its good to see "Grass Roots" doing so well. Another great thing about this video is that it shows the Club which is closest to my location in Derbyshire, so hopefully one day we could shake hands and have a little comp. One question How do you mark up your sights after sorting ranges, keep getting a glimps on your Lens cap but its not clear enough to see properly. Keep the vids coming Si and thanks for what you do for the sport ;)
great vid as usual, I am thinking of buying an airgun, just wondering what would you get an underlever or breakbarrel??? keep up the great vids love them.
Another great vid si and davy and it looks like you all had a great day out and for a great cause as well. Just goes to show all the knockers that tony's tuned rifles are the dog's dangly's. Why would you want to go elsewhere when you have the maestro mr wall
Looks like it was a great day out, shame there isn't more similar clubs around the country as it's obviously a great sport that everyone young & old, male & female can enjoy while aspiring to this great level of shooting.
Going yeaveley this weekend, it's on 2 weekend a month 09.30-13.00pm £4.50, they've got hot food and drinks too, luckily I live 8 miles away so not too far to travel. You can hire a webley eclipse for £5 if you didn't have your own gun to shoot.
Hi si. Do you know what scope flip cap is on the imp? I paid 40 quid for Hawke front and back one for my vantage scope and the front won't fit on unless I out high mounts on which j don't want to do. But I think the one on the imp would fit
Its sad to see and read 14 pages of silliness on the Airgun BBS. You will never hear us slate other tuners or say that a SFS tune is the best to have. There are many great tuners out there and we know that as does SFS themselves. Like I said the work Tony does is brilliant and if a rifle groups under a 5p at 55 yards I don't need better and maybe many don't either. Maybe someone should show what great work the likes of Steve Pope, Dave Welham and Dave Hall can do as well instead of arguing.
I bought myself a HW97kt about a year ago.....I havent been able to shoot with it at all. I wish that there were somewhere I could go and shoot with my rifle... :-(
Kind words Tony. We are just trying to show others what we enjoy and what good shooting equipment is out there for us to use. People on the Airgun BBS are unhappy with us showing so much about Sandwell Field Sports and how i edit the clips, but we are very happy with SFS and Tony's tunes so we have no intention to change from what we are doing. The way I edit is fun, but some take it to heart. The shows are true and what happens ALWAYS happens, we don't cheat our subscribers.
