Hi everyone. So I decided To make this my first Sorta Documentary/Reaction/Theory Hybrid Video. i wanted to try and bend genres and make it funny, informative, and theory based while also having some sort of story. I have no idea if you'll like it, or if it'll even do well but if it does i'd love to do like videos like this every month and fully breakdown a situation. It took 3 full days to edit myself and about 50 sources and re write, after re write, but in the end. This is my favorite video I've ever done. Thank you so much for the support Until Next Time Love Leo

It's because she's toxic AF. I'm not even a WS/Jada fan because I don't worship celebrities... I'm old. I digress. But as an old a** human, it has been obvious for some time that he has been slowly breaking down emotionally and doing so very publicly. I don't care what year it is, a man is a man and this man and his manhood is embarrassed and disrespected repeatedly by his wife , publicly. And to make it worse - she has no remorse and seems to enjoy it. *She* could have stopped this. She could have stood up and stopped him from going on stage. You know your man. She knew what he was going to do. That's what grown a** women do. She enjoys humiliating him. He bears a huge amount of responsibility , obviously - *but* men aren't only here to protect their women. We as women in relationships can and do protect our men . She did *not* protect him.

I'm going to be real here...I had alopecia in my 20s and, like Jada, did not lose all my hair. She has shown the line where her hair no longer grows, but you can clearly see that she has a large amount of stubble all over her head...she does NOT look BALD. If someone did NOT know about her disorder, they would have assumed - as I did - that it was a choice as she has worn her hair very short for years *Chris Rock COULD have said "Jada, Tangled II, the Entanglement - can't wait!".* THAT would have been f*cking hilarious.
@hautetopic6254
@hautetopic6254 2 года назад
This is a valid take, but Jada has been very open for the past few years about her struggle with alopecia, and it’s something that I feel that Chris Rock may have been aware of. At a minimum, it was a really off color joke especially as directed towards a black woman because black women constantly face criticism over their hair choices (Chris rock should be especially aware of this point because he made a really great documentary in 2009 called “Good Hair” about black women’s hair, which also featured a woman who had alopecia) EDIT: Not at all trying to justify the slap itself - the violence was completely uncalled for. I was only intending to highlight how embarrassing this joke may have been in the context of what Jada is going through.

@@hautetopic6254 I agree 100% that it was definitely NOT a funny joke - and was offensive even if Rock did not know about the alopecia. Jada does not look bald and it's very likely that Chris Rock isn't watching Jada's show or following her IG. *Jada is GORGEOUS with ANY hair style.* So I'm *hoping* he didn't make the joke to be deliberately cruel. Thank you for bringing up the discrimination Black women have faced regarding their hair and the fact that Rock knows how sensitive the topic is. If JADA had walked on stage and got in Rock's face (without using hands...there is no justification for violence in this situation), EVERYONE would have cheered her on.

Definitely think that the third theory is the most valid one about Will having years of pent-up feelings about his open marriage which he took out on Chris. But I also think that the Academy absolutely capitalized on the viewership spike this incident brought them. Like, I don't think it was staged, but I absolutely think that no one did a single thing about it because it got the Nielsen ratings back up and it got people talking about a show which hasn't felt relevant in over a decade, if that.

@@rubydoo3307 thats not true in the slightest, you should have more respect for yourself than that. Having a celeb in a movie is a big boost but it's not what makes it. You think any of these rich, pampered morons could do what you do? No they couldn't. Their face gets plastered on the poster but your skills are what bring the piece together. I think the very simplest way of proving your mind set wrong is to look at anime, most western audience members couldn't name a single Japanese actor yet there are shows with fandoms on the level of star wars like Dragon ball, everyone who starred in that show was a nobody including the actors, it still did bits and is one of the most well known piece of media in animation history. Actors are over rated, it's you guys "on the bottom" that make the magic happen and they would be nowhere without you. It's why I don't support things like the oscars, it's nothing but rich people sucking off other rich people, claiming all the glory for something that was arguable the most easily replacable role in production. The bubble you have to live in to be hosting a silly Facebook(!) show and assume that just because you you put everything- i mean EVERYTHING- out there about yourself that everyone must be interested and up to date on ever single thing about you. Were we supposed to all know she had alopecia? The woman MARRIED an A-lister, she’s not even a D-lister. But it apparently never occurred to Will or Jada that maybe her hair condition wasn’t the common knowledge they assumed? Imagine how full of yourself you have to be to have that audacity. Her hairstyle alone doesn’t suggest anything os wrong with her, its a common black hair style. That’s the part I can’t get over. People trying to defend Will or at least say Rock was a bit in the wrong… wtf? He wasn’t making fun of alopecia, he didn’t even know she had it. Was he supposed to someone do a deep dive into every target if his lighthearted roast? Will needs to be kicked out of the academy, and they both need to be humbled quite a bit. When a wealthy person punch a comedian on stage, it's an act of love or man defending his woman and all the manly shit but if a normal average person has done this anywhere, it's classless, no manner, and assault. Chris's joke wasn't the funniest or the best but Will shouldn't be excused for his assault. Go up to the stage and talk about how it's hurtful to his wife and throw some shades at Chris, or go backstage and talk about it. Or his strong independent wife can speak for herself since she could freely aired out her entanglement. Her speaking up, instead of rolling her eyes and then loving it when someone gets punched, would have been very impactful and powerful in bringing awareness to her illness. Frankly the funniest joke someone told was when the celebrities were interviewed about their reactions and one woman said 'I guess it's different when you're making fun of a celebrity and when it's the celebrity's wife'. I mean I believe Jada thinks herself a celebrity too? So it was the most unintentional shade. But it's also show that not everyone follow her enough to know about her condition. So it could be possible that Chris and people involved with this joke had no idea either. Edit: and most men were saying how Will has been holding it in. I guess Chris was just the poor guy at the wrong place. Will probably needs therapy instead of red table talk. And the fact that people praising Will's violence as being a man and romantic is just so backward. If celebraties can be charged for assaulting paparazzi, they should be charged for slapping a comedian on stage for a joke. But it's Chris Rocks decision for not making charges so good for him, I guess.

But it's been normalised for men to be bald. So she could make a statement about how toxic is it to have hair be tied so tightly to an identity of a woman. No idea what they're thinking since that family and most hollyweird is so out of touch; but no matter how they justify Will's action, it's an assult and it's not adding anything to the discussion about alopecia. I believe that is has to be based on their frail relationship, there is really no better explanation for it. True Crime Loser pointed out that it’s entirely possible Chris Rock had actually planned a harsher joke, but swerved, trying to avoid serious offence. That would explain the lame joke about a haircut and a movie from 30 years ago. But he did deal with the situation like a champ and doesn’t seem to hold a grudge, so kudos to him. As for Will Smith. It seems obvious to me that he is in a bad place and I hope he gets the help he needs. And if part of the healing process is ending a toxic marriage, so be it. Imo people shouldn't be joking about something that can felt as sensitive for some people such as disabilities or things they can't control unless you know they're cool with it bc well everyone is different, no need to read minds. Personally, I know I'm quite self-conscious about my conditions and when it becomes a butt of a joke, I've learnt to keep it quiet due to the amount of time I've been told to just take a joke. Not everyone wants conditions they have to deal with everyday being made fun of like that. Yes men and women alike get made fun of for hair loss, and no not all of society tell them to suck it up. I don't know why there always has to be this gender double standard comment? Men are made fun of for hair loss, therefore women should just suck it up? Like there aren't any women who have to deal with this, such as in OP's case? No both men and women shouldn't have to suck it up but there will always be judgemental people.

Really enjoyed how you approached this one. After about a week- I am kind of over this subject, but your video was thoughtful, informative, and still somehow funny. Definitely agree that some respect was lost for Will in all of this. I do not believe his actions were based off of that single joke, but Chris Rock took the hit for other issues in Will’s personal life/mental health. I also was really impressed how Chris Rock handled it and didn’t retaliate. He was able to deescalate what could have been a much worse situation, but it shouldn’t have been his responsibility to have to.

Wills a Scientologist and in Scientology they teach you how to deal with people who are giving you problems or offend you is to slap them. If you don't slap them a higher ranking scientologist can then slap you. This is actually a thing. This is why Will slapped him and didn't punch or just stick with the yelling.

edit: Meant to include a billion kudos, this format/style is awesome. It's fabulous that you mix things up. Thank you for including so much about each person's backstory. How Chris described being afraid of his anger, I really resonated with that. I think that is partially why he isn't pressing charges. I think he knows the shame of losing control over your own emotions/anger will stay in your gut forever. All the macho posturing by Will I think is evidence he felt ashamed. That shadow of him hitting Chris Rock will follow him and his family, and I don't think anyone really needs to officially ban Will from anything. I don't think there's any actor in the world that could bear pretending they didn't slap a grown man for the rest of their life. Ugh, having had emotional regulation problems my whole life, I can pull up that terrible feeling of the adrenaline and fear that comes as your brain registers you're about to be destructive. I think that's why it's getting such a strong reaction out of people. I know personally, no matter how much I entertain the notion that our species is incredible and evolved, I still feel that ape deep in my heart sometimes - rattling my ribcage. Chris not taking legal action against Will, and basically pulling a Jesus and turning the other cheek - not responding with violence, is such a crucial example of graciousness. I'm a big fan of Chris Rock, so maybe I'm overestimating the situation but he once lent Jesus $12 sooo...

I like this style of video! I do think Will is in a bad mental state, he deeply loves his wife but she does not care and does not want to leave the relationship. Because he is insecure about his relationship (since the beginning) he feels the need to overshare about their relationship and normalize the situation all the while anger an frustration is building up. I truly belive Jada is poison, and is only in the relation for Will's status and she probably knows she can control Will. Its truly sad, and i hope Will gets better and dumb her.

When I saw it, it made me think that 1. Chris Rock has been beat/bullied before because he did not even react, and 2. Chris Rock’s lack of reaction made Will Smith freak out even more with the “Keep my wife’s name, out your fucking mouth!” The person I fee the most sympathy for is definitely Questlove, who had his big moment stolen from him because the Smiths can’t take a joke. Chris Rock’s joke wasn’t that offensive and it wasn’t even memorable. If Smith hadn’t done anything, Rock would’ve been the one who came off as being the jerk.

When Will Smith walks up to Chris Rock, Chris says "uh oh, Richard." That is where people are getting the method acting theory. Will talks about how he took on some of Richards mannerisms and parenting styles after filming during the Red Table Talk with the Williams family. He deliberately kept pieces of Richard with him and if he says it on that show, imagine how other celebrities have possibly seen him act off camera after the role. I'm not saying that is what happened. I think this is a combination of a few reasons honestly. But imagine if he has had similar behaviors with his peers and they all equate that behavior to method acting. I cant see any other reason Chris would refer to him as Richard. Btw Richard didnt agree with his actions so Will likely had Will reasons but excused his own actions by blaming Richard which only makes Richard look bad imo. That would explain why Richard said he didnt condone violence because maybe he saw that Will was mistaken about how he would react in similar circumstances because he thought he was more Richard than Richard. He even prided himself on the actual William's sisters calling him dad mistakenly. He even quoted Richard in that RTT episode while using his Richard voice to Richard's children. Maybe the embarrassment and shame of the situations prior to the Oscar's made him want to dissociate from himself as a rich celebrity with a lot of scrutiny, into what he perceived as a man who took no shit nor cared what people thought about him, but cared deeply about his wife and kids reputation.

The same wife that cheated on him and proudly said it in his face🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Alopecia or not, that joke is bad but does that needed to be escalated in physical altercation, a big NO especially it happens in front of may people and have cameras that broadcasting the event.... He could have confronted him backstage, but NO, he needs to do it in public to show how big a "defender of his family" & "vessel of love" he is especially for his cheating wife🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 And it also shows how fake those people on those awards ceremonies really are...

Don't act like it was "just the internet making shit up" when it was Jared and the cast members first hand saying it happened. It hurt Leto's public reputation so much he's trying to gaslight everyone and is openly contradicting himself and everyone who he worked with. "At first I thought this was disgusting. But then after that... I was like, I'm not going to kill him," - Robbie in regards to Rat "I did a lot of things to create a dynamic, to create an element of surprise, of spontaneity, and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there," Leto said.
