@@UnohanaMash agreed and she can keep him in his tracks because he tends to lose reasoning in his hunts. But like from what we've seen so far.. the spiders have been almost humanised by the author.. so now it's weird when Kurapika says he'll rip them apart.
She's smart, too. Most of the time when a character is shown as a good person, they become somewhat naive or ignorant. Melody never had a moment like that.
@@considermurema9277 Well no, but we don't get to see much of others and we can acknowledge that they exist. There could be practically any kind of Hunter. If Gourmet Hunters, Jewel Hunters, Hacker Hunters, Beauty Hunters, etc exist, theres no limit. We have never seen a Math Hunter, but it can totally exist.
@@scratthesquirrel5242 the known power of Hellbell is to cause an uncontrollable thirst to murder, so it would be poetic that melody whose primary hatsu is to calm the masses.
@@scratthesquirrel5242 theory states that Hellbell powers can also use sounds to cause the people nearby to get homicidal desires. And Sonata of Darkness effects is too similar to Hellbell since the one who plays it will died. And it has been theorized that the origins of the flute and other pieces like violin may come from the dark continent since it's been said it was created by the "devil" (inhuman). Edit: I forgot to mention this, but snakes are often associated with evil and Hellbell may take from the story of Adam and Eve where the devil/satan disguise as a snake.
Dropping the lore of the sonata of darkness mid phantom troupe arc felt like a glimpse into the eldritch horrors that can exist in the hunterxhunter series… so out of left field
And then the tonal change when the ants appear, the world has always been this way, we just saw everything through the eyes of Gon, who was really sheltered in the village
This just made me think... if there was a live action hunter hunter she should totally be played by Danny devito in the softest voice he can do. Idk if this happened in the manga but someone should call her a old man and he'd say in a deep voice "I'm a young WOMEN"
Melody is a well written character and is nice to see. It's rare for people to get past looks if the character isn't done right so melody being a favorite means she's a great character.
I feel like I have to mention that it wasn't just some kind of illusory effect that messed with their minds, they were also spellbound by the beauty of the music, even the most vile assholes in the audience were genuinely moved.
@@juanitofloreslapaz213 ah, whew. I tought something bad happened to her, like in the latest chapters that missed or something. I haven't been acompanying it so much.
@@WobblesandBean Hmm... Pretty sure it became a curse because there's a hidden requirements to play the musical sheets safely. My conspiracy theory: The curse musical sheet is actually some sort of media to tell a dark history. The key to uncover the secrets is the deepest part of dark continent
i want a story with melody and kurapika achieving their goals with kurapika completing his personal beef with everyone and melody retrieving the sonata and restore her body then they live together as partners.
I want a story that has an actual watchable character like Gon instead of being forced to deal with a 2nd string character like Krapycuz. He's a B-plot and shouldn't be the primary protagonist imo
Absolutely. Her and Kurapika traveling while both of them restore parts they've lost will be really good to see. Hxh author is far better than any action anime author so I expect great things from him for these two
Her firend didn't die on the spot. She turned into a horrible monster then she died later. Also, her incredible hearing isn't a result of the music. She was already a 🄼🅄🅂🄸🄲 hunter so she already had very good hearing.
Icl I'm one of those people who mainly likes characters off looks (Although all my favourite characters and kinnies are based off personality) but melody is one of my favorite HxH characters
Man I really hope Togashi can finish Dark Continent arc. He just bombed us with more interesting Nen world lore before going hiatus and left us hanging.
Really liked how she was introduced in the 2000s anime where she boarded the same train cabin Kurapika was taking and provided him details of the incoming threat.
I would laugh so hard if the scottsman from samurai jak was their. "You call that an instrument it sounds like the noise a dying cat would make. A lot of dying cats."
I don't know if her current state is a curse. A curse is some external Nen that stays with you. ie Kurapika's heart chain, the bomb from the Bomber, IRS from Nuckles... Her deformation seems nore like a one way wound. Like the one you could receive from a Nen ability that burn you. You get burnt and disfigured but that's not a curse just the effect of an attack. So she probably could still be healed but not in the exorcism way.
@@sayther01I'm not that familiar with HxH, I stopped after the chimera ant arc. Can Nanika fix her? Or they just didn't want to let Nanika use her power on Melody for some reason?
Great character. Pivotal during the Yorknew Arc. I'm hoping she can restore her original form and then we can see what team Kurapika really playing on.
Did the Sonata of Darkness come from the Dark Continent? Also reminds me of the Devil's Trill song from Tartini. Supposedly he had a dream he taught the devil to play the violin and the devil played that piece. When we woke up he tried his best to replicate it but only got a part of it. It's one of the most difficult violin pieces to play.
What I have found about human beings is that if you spend enough time with someone, their physical flaws melt away. It's so interesting to see fans love this character and look past her looks due to the person she is.
Could you imagine if Togashi never had shoulder pain and we had 20 full years of hunter x hunter think of all the dangling threads he could pull at literally any time
