Although i am late to this interview, i love it deeply... For many reasons... ;) One of them is certainly that last Question about a dearest moment for Tana Pigeon playing with the Mythic system. And i truly believe many people have overlook this as an anecdote only and not as something truly amazing about that system! Tana said that the story went from playing a heros fighting crime, a simple story, to a story of self 'psychi' exploration since her heros was throw back in time 20 years and had to see herself re-live through events! If that is not an incredible experience of self DM'ing, i don't know what IS!? Proving, in itself, without boosting/flexing, that the system is indeed INCREDIBLE! Think about a writer who would be face with 'the white page' syndrome (where the writer should be writing something but is face with no inspiration that day), and the Mythic System. That system is so amazing, it could act as a 'motivator', an 'inspirator', a 'muse' even, if the writer would actually use it to through himself (or at least his protagonists) into the unknown, facing a chalenge, causing an event, that would throw his story into another twist. Of course, a writer normally have a story to tell, and the main idea would stil prevail, but for someone like me, who love to write but often feel a lack of inspiration for events to hit my characters to grow, to unite, this is a wonderful help! I think more of this kind of gameplay should be talk about. You said it yourself, the system should be talked about more! Well, it would be talked about more if people would tell more about their amazing adventure playing this they went through!!! To me, the Mythic system is a bit like Skyrim when you decide to NOT play the main storyline but instead, you decide to go in a random direction in the world and you enter into an unknown cave never knowing what you are gonna be up against... I LOVE that way to play and that is the main reason i have so many hours playing Skyrim, without playing the main quest!!! ;) I am sure i am not alone! Mythic should be better known for sure! Thank you for the great interview, and thank you Tana Pigeon for an amazing solo roleplaying system!

God, what a great interview with so many good ideas for starting out. I’m currently playing Mork Borg solo. The core book has some nice tables for adventure seeds and there’s a whole lot of content being created by the MB community. I think the big challenge is trying to keep it a “game” rather than writing a story. Maybe it always has to be both.

Wanderfull. Rly happy for this interview. Tana is rly a wanderfull person to talk, rly briliant person (well i allrady know that by the books). The only thing that sads me is when people, and i kinda saw that in the vídeo to, talks about Mythic is allways refere to Mythic Master emulator and not Mythic the Rpg. Yes im one of that persons that curse blue book becouse he "cast a big shadow" on the Mythic system. So briliant how you can define the stats of your character in middle of play and how briliant is the method used to define the things (comparation of ranks). It realy sads me the "default" Mythic is the blue book instead of the Red one. I just realy hope for a Mythic 2 with some tuning of the combat method but i rly like Mythic as system and as GM simulater to.

Hi Ace! FWIW, I enjoy the DIY RPG concepts in the red book. I've only played the example system rules once, after that I immediately followed the book's advice and started with just the basic systems and built my own set of rules as I went. I loved the "Red Book" game after that. I've converted the concepts of the game over to the 2d10 system present in Variations II (you lose some of the ranks in exchange for the speed of play that the Variations II system provides.) Nice to see another Red Book fan though, happy gaming.

with any character or characters, i imagine the individual(s) beginning as nieve about the world (such as the characters in the “wheel of time” series”. there, the characters become wiser and determined to accomplish their own will, not necessary being aware that other characters are driving them to their ultimate goal.

Quick question, how do you generate random building layouts/ locations (ancient temple etc.) ?

Me, personally, I use either Ironsworn Delve or the Location Crafter, specially the randomized one in the new Mythic Magazine!

@@RPGTips K... Thanks.. I'm running solo soulbound/ AoS.. with 3 pc characters.. and they stumbled onto abandoned abbey like building (thanks to random charts) which works... but i didnt want to pre design its layout.. then pretend i dont know it, for pc's sake..

@@nerfherder2915 look at D100 Dungeon or Four Against Darkness. You can role room layouts easy enough to keep things unknown for you.
